Chapter 960: Will You Marry Into Our Family?

Chapter 960: Will You Marry Into Our Family?

The Old Master Winslow was likely intending to apologize thoroughly to Summer Sutton for the incident involving Lily Winslow last time, and the dinner was prepared lavishly.

A dining table over two meters long was set with a long line of dishes.

When Summer Sutton arrived, Alexander Winslow led her inside. She did not pay attention to Lily, and had a meal alongside the elderly man.

Summer had been at the Winslow Family estate for just twenty minutes when suddenly, a servant ran in to announce, "Old Master, Mr. Bennet has arrived, and he’s in a hurry; it seems he has something urgent."

Before the words had fully settled, Watt Bennet’s figure was already visible in the living room.

His gaze swept in the direction of the dining table and focused on Summer Sutton, his eyes betraying an undeniable anxiety.

With just one look, the Old Master instantly understood the purpose behind his hasty arrival.

This young man was worried that something might happen to Summer Sutton in the Winslow Family estate again!

"Relax, no one would dare to harm her anymore. If anyone touches her again, I’ll break their leg," the Old Master reassured with a stern demeanor.

Watt Bennet exhaled a small sigh of relief, slowly approaching the dining table.

He intended to sit next to Summer Sutton, but before he could settle in, Summer shifted several seats away as if to avoid germs, distancing herself from him.

Watt Bennet’s hand, prepared to pull out a chair, froze awkwardly in place.

Summer Sutton, unfazed by others watching her expression, continued quietly with her meal.

Her gaze never shifted towards Watt Bennet, acting as if he did not exist, calmly chatting with the Old Master.

"Grandpa Winslow, your taste in food is remarkable. The dishes made by the chef you’ve hired are superb," she said with a smile, praising the elderly man.

"Of course," the Old Master seemed quite pleased, smiled, and served Summer Sutton some food, "If you enjoy it, have more. You can come often for meals in the future."

Perhaps deliberately provoking Watt Bennet, he suddenly interjected with, "If you like it so much, why not marry into our Winslow family? Once you are part of the Winslow Family, you could enjoy such wonderful meals every day."

His words only drew a slight smile from Summer Sutton.

Internally, Summer thought, if just food could buy her over, would she not be too easily fooled?

Yet, considering the playful nature of the Old Master’s words, Summer Sutton did not correct him.

During dinner, the group engaged in laughter and conversation, the atmosphere harmonious.

Watt Bennet sat several seats away from Summer Sutton, his eyes occasionally flicking in her direction several times.

Seeing the smile radiating from her face, his initially tense heart began to calm.

...

Summer Sutton had not paid attention to Watt Bennet all night; after dinner, she spent quite some time playing chess with the Old Master Winslow.

Lily Winslow probably wouldn’t dare stir up any trouble now, even though when looking at Summer Sutton, her eyes still held a trace of resentment. However, she dared not articulate it.

At ten in the evening, the Old Master glanced at the time, realizing it was late and returning home might be troublesome for Summer Sutton.

He wanted to have both her and Watt Bennet stay the night, but Summer Sutton refused.

Politely declining the old man’s proposal, Summer Sutton left the Winslow Family estate at a few minutes past ten, not concerning herself with Watt Bennet, and drove herself back to Morning Garden.

Watt Bennet stood stiffly outside the Winslow Family estate gates, staring in the direction of her departure, lost in thought for a long time.

Alexander Winslow walked out of the house, glanced at him sideways, "Are you tired?"
