Chapter 933: Looks So Much Like That Gu Guy
As soon as the newcomer appeared in the restaurant, a friend at Watt Bennet’s table suddenly called out to her from afar, "Miss Sutton, over here! Over here!"
Upon hearing the name, Watt was momentarily stunned. His gaze stiffened as he looked forward, and he saw the woman standing at the door, his eyes lingering.
Summer Sutton glanced over the crowd and immediately spotted him in the sea of people in the restaurant, still as alluring as the sun.
She merely gave him a fleeting look without pausing, walking confidently inside and sitting down next to the person who had greeted her.
"This is Miss Sutton, the current head of Morningview Group," the person who greeted Summer introduced her, and then the group began to eat.
At a business dinner, drinking was inevitable.
Apart from Summer Sutton and another woman, all the others at the table were men.
As the dinner started, everyone began to toast each other.
You toast me, I toast you, the eight or nine people at the table went around, toasting one another.
Summer Sutton had always had a low tolerance for alcohol. Watt thought that in an occasion like tonight, she would try to decline as much as possible.
But to his surprise, whenever someone toasted her, she drank it all down.
She drank so freely, even with some gusto.
Separated by two seats, Watt quietly observed this scene, his brows furrowing.
Was Summer Sutton unaware of her own limits?
By the time she had drunk three or four glasses, she seemed well enough. When seated, she still maintained her composure, showing no signs of being drunk.
Yet unexpectedly, this state barely lasted five minutes. Under Watt’s watchful eyes, her head suddenly thudded against the wall beside her.
Summer Sutton stood up, seemingly intending to go to the restroom, but her balance was a bit off.
Without fully standing upright, she stumbled headlong into the wall beside her.
The dull thud, not quiet in volume, stunned everyone else at the table.
"Ow!" Summer Sutton exclaimed softly, apparently a bit dazed from the collision.
"Miss Sutton, are you all right?" Among the people beside her, one tried to help her, but Watt’s arm moved faster, pulling the clearly inebriated Summer Sutton into his embrace.
This action left everyone else at the table dumbfounded.
What was happening now?
Watt offered no explanation, his gaze firmly fixed on the woman in his arms.
Seeing Summer Sutton in her drunken state, his face darkened.
What made him even more displeased were Summer Sutton’s next words.
She stared at him for a while, then pointed her slender index finger at him, chuckling, "Who are you? You look just like that guy..."
"That guy, what was his name?" She racked her brains, seemingly struggling, "Guo, Guo..."
She murmured "Guo" for quite a while, and it was unclear whether she truly couldn’t recall or was intentionally provoking him, producing no further name.
Watt’s expression slowly turned icy.
Ignoring her words, he tugged her, intending to head out of the restaurant.
Even though Summer Sutton was drunk at this time, her stubborn nature hadn’t diminished. She tightly hugged a table beside her, refusing to cooperate with him.
"Who are you? Why should I go with you?" She lifted her face to look at him, unreasonably defiant.
Watt felt a twitch in his temple, and a severe ache throbbing in his temples.
His gaze on her was sharp, as if he wished he could strangle her.
Ignoring how others might perceive him, he growled in a low voice, "Say that one more time, just try."
Summer Sutton was too drunk to fear his warning, wasn’t she?
