Chapter 1086: Continue with a Different Position
Watt Bennet was still slowly walking over this way. When he reached the two of them, his gaze swept coolly over the dagger on the ground. Before the man from just now had even come back to his senses, Watt hooked the dagger up with the tip of his shoe.
The sharp tip of the blade seemed to slice through the air, shooting straight toward the man’s wrist like a gust of wind.
The knife moved too fast, so fast that the man didn’t react in time.
By the time he realized what was happening, his wrist was already dripping with blood.
Watt didn’t spare him a glance. He simply extended an arm to support Summer Sutton, who looked like she could barely stand. He didn’t even bother with Ariella Sawyer, just scooped Summer up and headed out of the restaurant.
Wherever Ariella showed up, there were always plenty of onlookers. Watt’s appearance made even more people stare in this direction.
Not many people actually knew who Summer Sutton was.
But anyone who paid even a little attention to the business world would be familiar with the name Watt Bennet.
A whole cluster of people watched them with eyes full of gossipy curiosity.
Watt ignored them and continued leading Summer toward the restaurant exit.
When they reached the car, he shoved her inside, then gave a flat order to the driver up front: "Drive."
Summer Sutton was clearly very drunk. As she sat beside him, she kept giggling. "Are you Adrian Walyon again? Are you?"
Staring at Watt, she half propped herself up, her hand crawling up to his face as she scrutinized him over and over.
Her behavior was a bit presumptuous. Watt’s brows furrowed, his expression taut, but he didn’t stop her.
It was Summer herself who eventually seemed to get tired of pinching his face and let her hand fall away.
She looked a little worn out and shifted around in the seat until she found a comfortable position to lie down in, resting her head on Watt’s thigh.
She closed her eyes and lay there for a short while.
The man beside her glanced down at her in that state, then asked expressionlessly, "Why did you drink?"
He assumed she was upset, that it was because of his coldness toward her.
Who knew that Summer would lift her face, grin, and chirp back at him, "Obviously because I’m happy! You don’t know this, but I got back into Royal Delight. I was fired a few days ago, and now I get to keep working there again. Isn’t that great? Royal Delight is the kind of place tons of people would kill to get into and still can’t."
Even drunk, her voice was full of joy at returning to Royal Delight.
She rambled on and on, and not a single sentence had anything to do with him.
Watt’s already dark expression sank even further.
Summer probably wasn’t very comfortable, and she shifted into another sleeping position.
Her head kept rubbing back and forth on Watt’s thigh, changing positions again and again.
Watt had already been in a foul mood, and being tossed around by her like this just made every inch of him feel even more on edge.
The car continued down the road, and after a little over ten minutes, they pulled up at Morning Garden.
The driver watched Watt carry Summer Sutton out of the car, unsure whether he was supposed to wait there or drive off.
"Sir, do you need me to wait here?" After some internal struggle, the driver finally asked.
Watt seemed to pause briefly at his words. Lowering his gaze, he looked at the Summer cradled in his arms.
Nobody knew how much Summer had drunk tonight. They were already at the door to the house, but she didn’t recognize it.
She shoved Watt away and staggered off on her own. "Who are you? Where are you taking me? I don’t need you. I can walk by myself."
She couldn’t take a single steady step. She’d barely gone two paces before her body pitched forward hard onto the ground, face-planting like a dog eating dirt.
