Chapter 1080: Waiting for Him All Night

Chapter 1080: Waiting for Him All Night

Summer Sutton’s gaze lingered on him, her eyes staying a bit longer.

She hadn’t known Manuel Ink for long, but Summer Sutton could see all the goodness he had shown her.

In this world, besides Adrian Walyon, perhaps Manuel Ink was truly one of the few who treated her well.

"Thank you, Manuel," Summer Sutton had owed Manuel Ink so much, yet all she could say to him was just that sentence.

Manuel Ink merely smiled softly, signaling for her to get in the car before he turned and headed back into the airport.

His back, long, aloof, cold, just like when Summer Sutton first saw him.

He was the high and mighty moon, the purest moonlight in Summer Sutton’s eyes.

He was sacred, untouchable, yet Summer Sutton never expected that one day, when the moonlight shone upon her, it would be warm like the sun.

She just stood outside the airport hall, watching Manuel Ink’s figure leave, disappear, until the private plane of the Ink Family ascended, flying overhead, and Summer Sutton still hadn’t left.

She lifted her face and gazed at the airplane in the sky.

Regardless of whether Manuel Ink could hear her voice, she shouted aloud towards the sky, "Thank you, Manuel!"

Her voice was loud enough to be heard across the airport, her mood seemed somewhat joyful.

On the plane, Manuel Ink seemed to have heard it.

He turned his face slightly and glanced at her down on the ground.

The distance between them was indeed somewhat far, neither could see each other clearly, but their eyes met across the space.

Summer Sutton’s neck craned high as she gazed at the sky until Manuel Ink’s airplane disappeared in the air, only then did she hail a taxi to Watt Bennet’s villa.

When she arrived, Watt Bennet was not there.

After entering the house, Summer Sutton tidied up the villa, played with Unity for a while, but still hadn’t waited for his return, so she turned on the TV to watch.

She tuned into the news channel, someone of Watt Bennet’s status was often featured on news, almost guaranteed to catch a glimpse of him.

When Summer Sutton switched to the news channel, Watt Bennet was being interviewed by reporters about the newly launched perfume series by Shining Sky.

In the camera, he spoke effortlessly, just like Adrian Walyon in the past, as long as the camera switched to his face, it was sure to focus everyone’s attention on him.

Summer Sutton watched him like this for a while, finishing his interview, and seeing it was still early, she went to the kitchen to prepare a dinner.

She hadn’t had a meal with him for quite some time, so Summer Sutton prepared this meal abundantly.

When the meal was ready, it was seven o’clock.

Checking the time, she reckoned Watt Bennet should be coming back.

Summer Sutton sat on the sofa, waiting for a moment.

Unexpectedly, even by eight, Watt Bennet’s figure hadn’t appeared.

Alone, Summer Sutton had little appetite to eat, so she continued waiting.

By nine, Watt Bennet hadn’t returned, even at ten, and eleven, the house was still without sight of him.

This made Summer Sutton pause in surprise.

She could understand him coming home late, but not coming back at all was something Summer Sutton couldn’t comprehend.

Summer Sutton thought perhaps Shining Sky had been too busy these days, and he was working overtime at the company, not bothering him with a phone call.

That night, she stayed alone at Watt Bennet’s villa.

The next day, she didn’t go to the company; first, she took the herbs she brought back from the Ink Family to find Alexander Winslow.

The Ink Family didn’t tell Summer Sutton precisely how the medicine was researched or the proportion of each herb.
