Chapter 094 Author's Note
Chapter 094 Author's Note
To all the friends who read this story:
I've recently received some discussions about the story's setting, and I'd like to take this opportunity to express my thoughts in a unified manner.
First, regarding some labels.
"Sister Corruption" or other similar titles are just vague labels to me.
They are like looking at something through frosted glass, blurring the texture of the creation itself.
My initial motivation for writing this story was very simple: a hobby.
I love the feeling of my heart pounding when inspiration strikes, and I love the dialogues between characters that linger in my mind.
I simply wanted to record these fleeting sparks through my novel.
It stems from a character concept and emotional core that fascinates me.
For example, Shen Yi's struggling eyes flickering under the control of the plot.
These moments, like seeds, have settled in my heart, and I always feel something is missing if I don't write them down.
I want to explore the choices a complex person makes amidst extreme obsessions, and the possibilities of existence, struggle, and understanding behind them.
Just as Lu Chenyuan's obsession concealed an unfulfilled desire, Fu Yan's domineering nature was wrapped in her deep affection for Chen Shan.
Each character is torn apart by their own predicament.
My motivation for creating is simply to tell a story that I find "powerful" and that stems from my passion for writing, nothing more.
Secondly, regarding creation and debate.
I have no intention of engaging in any form of conflict, nor am I writing to challenge or offend anyone.
The world of literature is so fascinating precisely because it can accommodate countless different souls and narratives.
The world I depict is just one attempt.
You are free to dislike, misunderstand, or even leave; this is entirely your freedom and a normal part of reading.
It's normal for something to have both good and bad aspects, and it's bound to be controversial; I can understand that.
Toughness and fragility.
Deliberate and fatalistic...
These differences are an integral part of reading, like shadows cast by light.
But for me personally, these kinds of stereotypical judgments really don't touch the core of my creation.
Because I know where this story comes from, and I know where it will lead.
It's not about a predetermined "correct ending," but about letting each character go where they're supposed to go within their own logic, even if that place isn't perfect.
If I had to give an explanation to this seemingly peculiar setup (the intersex female protagonist and her entanglement with Jiujiuci), then I would say:
Here, "androgyny" is a natural metaphor for the character's resistance to the world's established labels.
It's not meant to pander to anyone, nor is it meant to create a gimmick, and it's certainly not, as some people say, "a setting imposed for the sake of loving men."
It is simply an organ, as natural as the left and right hands.
"Ninety-nine times" is a literary experiment that pushes an emotion to the extreme, questioning what obsession and redemption are.
Ninety-nine times is not a numbers game, but rather amplifies the pain of "loss" and "reunion" ninety-nine times.
Let each character see what they truly want through repeated struggles.
Just like how Shen Yi, despite being controlled by the plot time and time again, still wavered in his feelings for Su Qiu.
Su Qiu is complex, and so am I.
This story may not be perfect; it may have logical flaws or excessive emotional content, but it is sincere to me.
Finally, regarding the future.
I will continue to follow my ideas and complete this story that is interesting to me.
It will not accelerate because of praise, nor will it stagnate because of doubt.
I respect everyone's right to express their likes and dislikes, and please respect me as someone who loves writing novels.
If you stay out of curiosity, I appreciate your attention.
If you have to leave due to discomfort, I wish you can find more pleasant scenery elsewhere.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Wishing all readers a happy life and joy every day.
