Roman and Julienne's heart desire

Chapter 201: The worry and the amusement park

Chapter 201: The worry and the amusement park

"Hmm..." Julie let out a soft sigh as she sat on the edge of the bed.

The gift Azazel had given her rested quietly on a cushion a few feet away, its dark surface almost calling out to her curiosity.

Her eyes lingered on it for a moment before drifting away.

"I wonder what Roman is doing right now..." she murmured to herself.

Slowly, she leaned back and lay on her side, her gaze fixed on nothing in particular as her thoughts wandered.

After a few seconds, she suddenly sat up again.

"Let me call him."

She reached for her phone quickly, her fingers wrapping around it as she brought it close. But just before unlocking it, her thumb paused over the screen.

A faint crease formed between her brows.

"He must be working by now... I shouldn’t disturb him," she said softly, almost convincing herself.

With a small exhale, she lowered the phone and lay back down.

And with the exhaustion finally catching up to her, her eyes slowly fluttered shut.

Within moments, she drifted into a deep sleep.

Downstairs, Lisa and Denovan were seated together, engaged in quiet conversation when footsteps echoed from the staircase.

Azazel walked down, adjusting his jacket slightly.

"Good afternoon, Lisa... Denovan," he greeted with a slight bow.

"You’re already back from your date?" Denovan asked, raising a brow.

Lisa glanced at him as well. "You don’t usually come back this early."

Azazel nodded.

"Yeah, I forgot something, so I came to pick it up."

Then, with a playful grin, he added, "But don’t worry I won’t stay and disturb your lovely time. I have someone waiting for me too."

Denovan rolled his eyes.

Lisa simply hummed. "Alright."

Then she added, "Did you manage to reach your brother?"

Azazel shook his head lightly. "Not yet... but I’ll try calling him again."

Lisa nodded. "Okay. Take care of Ava."

Azazel raised a brow instantly. "What do you mean? Is she your only grandchild?"

Lisa gave him a knowing look. "No... but I know you well. That’s why I said it."

Seeing where the conversation was heading, Denovan quickly stepped in.

"Go and continue your date and leave my wife to me," he said, waving him off.

Azazel chuckled."Alright, alright... I’m going."

With that, he turned and headed out of the mansion, his footsteps fading as the door closed behind him.

"You’re back," Ava said as Azazel slid into the driver’s seat beside her.

"Yeah, I’m back," he replied, starting the engine smoothly.

"How was everyone at home?" she asked, smiling.

Azazel returned the smile. "They’re good."

He glanced at her briefly before focusing on the road again. "So... where are we going next? Your choice."

"Hmmm..." Ava hummed, still pouting slightly as she thought.

Then she turned to him. "You suggest."

"Restaurant," Azazel said casually.

Ava shook her head immediately. "No. Suggest like... four or five options."

She turned fully in her seat, watching him with a bright, playful smile.

Azazel glanced at her again. "Why are you smiling like that?"

"My boyfriend is handsome," she said without hesitation, her voice soft but sincere.

For a split second, Azazel blinked then a grin spread across his face.

"And my girlfriend is the definition of beauty," he replied, blowing her a kiss.

Ava caught it dramatically, wrapping her arms around herself in a tight hug as she squirmed happily.

"Okay, back to the discussion, little monster," she said, trying to sound serious but failing.

Azazel chuckled. "Alright... camping, hiking, swimming... or shopping. I know you like that one."

Ava nodded thoughtfully. "Shopping is nice... I need to spend my boyfriend’s money properly. If I don’t, you’ll stay poor. But if I do " she smiled proudly, " you’ll become even richer."

Azazel laughed under his breath.

"As for swimming... we didn’t bring anything," she continued. "So the only real option left is..."

She turned to him, eyes lighting up.

"Amusement park."

"Amusement park?" Azazel repeated.

Ava nodded eagerly.

"We’ve been to parks before, but not an actual amusement park. And it’s fun."

Azazel nodded slowly, but this time, something in his expression shifted.

It became... serious.

Ava noticed immediately. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah," he said quickly, his usual smile returning just as fast. "Don’t worry."

Less than thirty minutes later, they arrived.

As the car rolled to a stop, the world outside came alive in a burst of color and sound.

The amusement park stretched wide before them, glowing under the soft afternoon light as if it had been pulled straight out of a dream.

Bright lights flickered from every corner, even though the sun had not yet fully set, creating a warm, inviting glow that danced across the entrance gates.

Laughter echoed in the air light, carefree, and contagious.

Children ran past with balloons tied to their wrists, their excited voices blending with the cheerful music playing faintly in the background.

The distant hum of machines and the sharp metallic rhythm of rides in motion filled the atmosphere, rising and falling like a heartbeat.

Ava’s eyes widened the moment she stepped out of the car.

Right ahead, towering rides spun endlessly in the sky. The whirlwind twisted high above, its seats swinging wildly as screams and laughter poured down from those already on it.

Not too far from it, a Ferris wheel turned slowly, its cabins glowing softly, offering a calmer contrast to the chaos around it.

The scent of caramelized sugar and freshly popped popcorn drifted through the air, wrapping around them like an invisible invitation.

Vendors lined the pathways, their stalls decorated with colorful banners and strings of light, calling out to passing visitors.

Couples walked hand in hand, some laughing, others lost in quiet conversations, while groups of friends moved in clusters, their energy filling the space with life.

Everywhere Ava looked, there was something new to take in flashing lights, moving crowds, spinning rides, endless excitement.

For a moment, it felt like time itself had slowed down... like the outside world didn’t exist beyond those gates.

And in that space, between laughter and light, everything felt easy.

Too easy.

Ava barely waited for the car to fully stop before stepping out, hurrying around to Azazel’s side and opening his door for him.

Azazel raised a brow, amused. "Oh? I’m getting the gentle lady treatment today?"

Ava nodded proudly. "Let’s go, gentleman fast."

He chuckled as he stepped out.

Walking through the entrance, their hands naturally found each other, fingers intertwining as they moved deeper into the park.

Ahead, a line had already formed for several rides.

"Which one are we riding?" Ava asked, looking around excitedly at the spinning lights and moving rides.

"Your choice," Azazel said.

But his gaze... wasn’t fully there.

A faint crease formed on his forehead.

’Where are you, bro...’

"Ferris wheel," Ava said suddenly. "And I heard the seats inside are really comfortable and I want to try it with you."

"Alright," Azazel replied. "Stay in line. I’ll be back before it’s our turn."

Ava nodded.

Azazel stepped away, moving toward the side while Ava joined the line.

She looked around, noticing it wasn’t as crowded as expected.

"Strange... I thought it would be full today," she murmured softly.

Then she sighed.

"But what’s wrong with him..."

Not far away, Azazel stood alone, his usual playful expression fading into something far more serious.

He pulled out his phone and dialed quickly, pressing it to his ear, but the call didn’t even connect it ended almost immediately.

His jaw tightened as he stared at the screen, a growing sense of unease settling deep in his chest.

"I don’t like this..." he muttered under his breath, his voice low and tense. "Where are you, bro..."

Hey loves ❤️

Before I say anything about the Chapter... I want to talk to you a little, heart to heart.

Life isn’t always loud. Sometimes, the most important moments come quietly the same way small changes in our story begin. One day everything feels normal, and the next, something shifts. Not in a dramatic way, not with warnings or noise... just a feeling. A pause. A silence.

And the truth is, a lot of people ignore those moments.

We’re always waiting for something big to happen before we react, before we take things seriously, before we protect ourselves or appreciate what we have.

But life doesn’t always work like that. Sometimes, it’s the small things the missed call, the change in someone’s tone, the way your heart feels uneasy for no clear reason that matter the most.

So here’s my little advice to you:

Pay attention to your life the way you pay attention to a story you love.

Notice the details.

Notice how people treat you.

Notice how you feel in certain places and around certain people.

If something feels off, don’t ignore it. If something feels good, don’t take it for granted.

And most importantly... don’t rush through your own life.

We’re always trying to get to the "big moments" success, love, happiness but we forget that those things are built from small, quiet moments like the ones we often overlook. The conversations, the laughter, the peaceful days, even the confusing ones... they all matter.

Another thing I want to tell you is this:

You don’t always have to have everything figured out.

It’s okay to feel lost sometimes. It’s okay to not know what’s coming next. Life isn’t meant to be perfectly planned it’s meant to be lived, experienced, and understood as you grow.

And just like in stories... not every Chapter is loud, dramatic, or exciting. Some Chapters are slow.

Some are calm. Some feel like nothing is happening. But those Chapters are important too because they prepare you for what’s coming next.

So wherever you are right now in your life whether things are calm, confusing, or even overwhelming trust that it’s part of your journey.

Take your time.

Be kind to yourself.

And don’t forget to breathe through it all.

Now... back to our story 👀✨

Remember what I said watch the small details. Something is coming.

Stay with me 💕
