Roman and Julienne's heart desire

Chapter 197: The suprise: My gorgeous wife

Chapter 197: The suprise: My gorgeous wife

"We’ve arrived," Denovan said as the car rolled to a smooth stop in front of the theater.

The engine went quiet, but the world outside was anything but. Valentine’s Day had painted the entire place in red and gold.

Heart-shaped balloons swayed above the entrance, ribbons fluttered lightly in the afternoon breeze, and the faint scent of roasted nuts and buttered popcorn drifted through the air.

The driver quickly stepped out and walked around to open the door for Julie, while Denovan himself moved to open the door for his dear wife, Lisa.

Julie stepped down slowly, her heels touching the pavement with a soft click.

She turned her head from side to side, taking in every corner of the place. The theater entrance shimmered with decorative lights even though it was still daytime.

Couples walked past them hand in hand, laughter rising and falling like music in the air.

"Hmm," Julie murmured softly, her eyes lingering on the bright Valentine banners hanging above the entrance.

Just as she turned around, a young girl approached her. The girl’s smile was wide and warm, almost glowing with excitement.

"Happy Valentine’s Day, beautiful woman. This is yours."

Before Julie could process the words, the girl gently placed a large bouquet of deep red roses into her arms.

The flowers were stunning.

The petals were velvety and fresh, their fragrance rich and sweet. Tiny droplets of water still clung to them, catching the sunlight.

The bouquet was wrapped in elegant cream paper tied with a satin ribbon. It was so big and beautifully arranged that Julie could barely hold it properly.

She blinked in surprise.

Julie was completely shocked. Her fingers tightened around the bouquet as she stared at it, her heart skipping slightly.

From the side, Lisa and Denovan watched the scene unfold, both visibly taken aback.

It wasn’t every day a girl walked up to another girl and handed her a bouquet of roses. If it had been a man, it would have been easily understood. But this?

"Thank you," Julie finally managed to murmur, her voice soft and slightly breathless.

But by the time she looked up again, the girl had already disappeared into the crowd.

"That’s a very beautiful bouquet, Julie," Denovan said with a smile.

Julie nodded shyly. "Thank you," she murmured again, though her mind was still racing.

Lisa crossed her arms dramatically. "You are really lucky, getting flowers on Valentine’s Day. And look at me...I didn’t even get a single rose from this old thing." She shook Denovan’s hand off playfully and walked toward Julie with a pout.

Julie’s eyes widened again, the earlier shock returning to her face in full force. She glanced between the couple, unsure whether to laugh or remain serious.

"Let’s go, dear," Lisa said brightly, slipping her arm through Julie’s and guiding her toward the theater entrance.

Before following, Julie gently walked back to the car. She leaned slightly and carefully placed the bouquet inside the car booth so she wouldn’t have to carry it around. She adjusted it softly, making sure the roses wouldn’t be crushed, then closed the booth with a light push.

As they walked toward the entrance, Lisa leading confidently and Denovan following behind with a small amused smile, the noise of the theater grew louder, ticket scanners beeping, people chatting, popcorn popping somewhere inside.

"Let’s buy popcorn," Lisa declared excitedly as they stopped at the counter. Only one person stood ahead of them.

The glass display reflected warm yellow lights, and the smell of freshly buttered popcorn wrapped around them.

"Which movie are we watching?" Julie asked, smiling now, her earlier shock slowly turning into curiosity as she watched Lisa already engaging the man behind the counter with cheerful enthusiasm.

"Three popcorn, three soft drinks, and chocolate... What do you think we should add, Julie?" Lisa asked brightly, leaning slightly over the glass counter as the warm scent of caramel and butter floated around them.

The popcorn machine behind the counter crackled softly, golden kernels jumping under heat. The display lights reflected against Lisa’s sparkling eyes.

"Ice cream," Julie replied gently, then quickly added, "Only one."

Lisa’s mouth fell open in exaggerated disbelief. "What about me?" she demanded, placing a hand dramatically over her chest.

Julie batted her eyelashes playfully. "Beautiful Lisa, you know the reason."

She clearly remembered Roman once mentioning that Lisa was allergic to cold desserts especially ice cream. It always gave her rashes, yet she loved it far too much to resist.

Lisa sighed dramatically. "Yes, I know the reason... but just this once. You know, just once," she said sweetly, already turning back toward the counter.

But before she could complete the order"No way," Denovan interrupted firmly, though his tone was warm. "I like your skin looking beautiful without rashes, so no ice cream, beautiful."

Lisa’s eyes widened. Her cheeks puffed out adorably as she turned to glare at him. Denovan, however, only smiled lovingly at her, completely unmoved.

"It’s Valentine’s Day, guys. Come on, chill!" Lisa protested, spinning toward Julie for support.

Julie nodded immediately. "Sure, it’s Valentine’s Day. We have to chill." She then turned to Denovan and whispered softly, "Please..."

Lisa quickly joined in, lowering her voice and stretching the word dramatically. "Pleeeaaase..."

Denovan looked at both of them, their wide pleading eyes fixed on him. He let out a long sigh of surrender.

"Hmm... fine. Three cups of ice cream, please," he said at last.

Slowly, both women turned to look at him.

"What?" he asked, suddenly self-conscious under their synchronized stares.

They raised their brows at him in the same knowing expression.

"You said it’s Valentine’s Day and we should chill," he defended calmly.

"Ohhh yeah," the two women chimed together.

Moments later, they were walking toward the theater room, arms slightly full, popcorn balanced carefully, soft drinks fizzing gently in their cups, and the cold sweetness of ice cream already beginning to soften at the edges. The hallway lights dimmed gradually as they entered the cinema.

The air inside was cooler, carrying the familiar smell of fabric seats and buttery snacks.

Their footsteps softened against the carpeted floor as they searched for their row.

They found their seats and settled down quietly.

The large screen in front of them glowed faintly, advertisements playing in muted colors.

But just as Julie sat down and adjusted her dress.

A girl approached her.

"Happy Valentine’s Day, gorgeous being on earth. This is yours," the girl said with a bright smile, gently placing a beautifully wrapped package box into Julie’s hands.

For the second time that day, Julie froze. If the bouquet earlier had shocked her, this completely stunned her.

The box was elegant—deep red with a silky ribbon tied neatly across the top. It felt light but important in her hands.

"Okay... thank you, but" Julie began, confused.

Before she could finish her sentence, the girl had already hurried away, disappearing into the dim rows of seats.

Julie stared down at the box in disbelief, her heartbeat suddenly louder than the quiet hum of the theater speakers.

"What is inside the box, dear?" Denovan asked from the side, leaning slightly closer. He was seated to Lisa’s left, his voice low but curious, careful not to disturb the other people settling into their seats.

"I don’t know," Julie whispered, her fingers lightly tracing the smooth surface of the red, heart-shaped box resting on her lap. The velvet material felt soft beneath her touch, almost luxurious.

The ribbon tied around it shimmered faintly under the dim cinema lights.

"Then quick, open it," Lisa urged excitedly, nudging Julie’s arm like a child impatient for a surprise.

"Okay..."

Julie swallowed softly. Her hands felt slightly cold as she gently pulled the bowstring loose.

The ribbon slipped away with a soft slide. She lifted the lid carefully and paused.

Inside was another smaller red box.

Her heartbeat quickened.

She slowly lifted the second box out, her fingers trembling slightly as she opened it.

"It’s a jewelry box," Lisa whispered, her eyes widening in anticipation.

But the moment the lid flipped open completely, Lisa’s expression shifted from excitement to absolute shock.

Inside, resting delicately on a bed of soft white cushion, lay a pair of long white pearl earrings.

They were breathtaking.

The pearls were arranged in a perfect circular design, forming elegant round earrings that shimmered under the faint theater lights. Each pearl looked smooth and silky, reflecting a gentle glow.

The stud at the top was designed to sit securely in the ear piercing, simple yet refined. They were not overly flashy, but undeniably expensive and graceful.

Lisa gasped softly.

Julie, however, could barely process what she was seeing.

Her mind felt blank as she simply stared at the earrings. Her fingers hovered above them but didn’t touch.

"Do you think someone is stalking me?" Julie finally managed to whisper.

Her voice carried genuine confusion and a hint of worry.

Denovan suddenly burst into laughter, the sound escaping louder than he intended. A few heads turned briefly in their direction before he quickly lowered his voice.

Lisa, recovering from her shock, followed suit. She laughed too, though hers was softer. The two exchanged a knowing glance one that completely confused Julie.

"He can really do it," Lisa whispered to her husband, her lips close to his ear while her eyes remained on Julie’s worried face.

"How romantic," Denovan added with an approving nod.

Julie blinked. "Romantic?"

"No one is stalking you, dear," Denovan assured gently. "Chill. No matter what, you’ll get to know the person at the end."

Julie frowned slightly, still unconvinced. Her eyes returned to the earrings, her heart beating strangely fast.

Before she could say anything else

The cinema screen suddenly turned blank white.

The soft background music cut off.

A quiet hush fell over the room.

"My gorgeous wife."

The deep, familiar voice echoed through the speakers.

Julie’s eyes bulged instantly. Her breath caught in her throat as she stared at the screen, her entire body going still.
