Rise of The Abandoned Husband

Chapter 867 - 867 The Heart Of The Palace

Chapter 867 - 867 The Heart Of The Palace

I stopped walking, drew in a slow breath, and said, "Fine, half a month it is."

After speaking those words, I turned around and walked away from that place.

I located a hotel where I could stay for the time being.

Inside the room, three files lay spread out before me.

The three organizations were labeled Ice Palace, Mystical Flame Gang, and Flood Dragon Sect.

I grabbed the files and studied them thoroughly.

All three organizations held equal strength, each possessing Half-step Martial Sages.

What mattered most was that they might very well have access to the Power of Martial Saint.

Two weeks wasn't much time, and I couldn't waste a single moment.

I grabbed my phone and called a specific number.

The call went to Violet Seth, the woman I had previously spared.

"Have you forgotten the task I gave you?" I said coolly when she picked up.

Violet Seth's expression shifted when she heard my voice.

She hesitated, saying, "I... I've been swamped recently. The Palace Master won't share the information you wanted me to find. I... I'll try a different approach."

"Don't bother. Just give me the Ice Palace's location," I cut her off.

Hearing this, Violet Seth froze completely.

"Why do you need the Ice Palace's location? You... you're not actually planning to come here, are you?" Violet Seth asked with concern.

I responded flatly, "What do you think?"

Violet Seth's voice turned frantic on the other end.

She said nervously, "If the Palace Master discovered our connection, I'd be dead!"

"Besides, our Ice Palace's location is forbidden knowledge..."

"That's your concern," I interrupted her once more.

"Give me the Ice Palace's location right now. If you try to deceive me, I'll end your life immediately," I said icily.

Violet Seth found herself trapped, unable to speak for several moments.

"Relax, nobody will learn about this," I assured her through the phone.

Violet Seth inhaled deeply and said, "I'll text it to you shortly."

She ended the call right after that.

I pulled out the Ice Palace file and studied it closely.

The document contained incredibly thorough information, covering nearly everything but the location itself.

According to the file, the Ice Palace's leader had achieved Half-step Martial Saint status years earlier, and their organization depended on a mystical artifact called the "Icy Glass Heart" for their training.

"Icy Glass Heart..." I repeated the name quietly.

I searched the internet for any related details and discovered that the Icy Glass Heart was a mythical artifact typically found in freezing environments.

I scoured every website but found no actual images of the Icy Glass Heart. Only legends existed about this mystical treasure.

"If their leader is merely a Half-step Martial Saint, there's nothing for me to fear," I reasoned.

So long as I didn't face a true Martial Saint, I feared no opponent.

"Getting my hands on this Icy Glass Heart would be quite the bonus," I whispered, feeling a surge of anticipation.

——

In the far north lay a barren, frozen landscape.

Nothing could survive in this place.

Yet within these brutal conditions stood a fortress made entirely of ice.

Violet Seth positioned herself at the fortress's edge, worry etched across her features.

She looked toward the fortress's interior and bit down hard.

"What's wrong?" A young man approached Violet Seth.

Violet Seth gritted her teeth and explained the entire situation to the young man.

"I don't want to double-cross the Palace Master, but if I refuse to talk, he'll kill me. Victor, what am I supposed to do..." Violet Seth said, her voice shaking.

The man named Victor smirked and said, "If he wants to come, then tell him."

"Once he sets foot in the Ice Palace, he's guaranteed to die!"

But Violet Seth looked troubled, "Victor, I'm concerned this will reveal our Ice Palace's location."

Violet Seth glanced toward the Ice Palace's depths and said, "Right now is crucial for the Palace Master's seclusion. If something goes wrong, the consequences won't be worth it."

Victor lifted his eyebrows, chuckled, and said, "Relax, I'll prepare a trap. If he's foolish enough to come, I promise he won't leave alive!"

Seeing this, Violet Seth agreed and said, "Alright, I'll follow your lead!"

So Violet Seth immediately texted the Ice Palace's location to Mason Raymond.

——

Looking at the location message on my phone, I stroked my chin and muttered, "Maybe... I should just give this location to Ignacio Richard and let him deal with it personally?"

Since this was a mission for the battle zone, Ignacio Richard would definitely handle it himself.

But after considering it further, I rejected that idea.

"If I told Ignacio Richard about this, I'd never get my hands on the Icy Glass Heart..." I whispered.

With that thought, I decided to keep Ignacio Richard out of it.

I picked up my phone and sent Violet Seth a message: "I'll reach the Ice Palace tomorrow morning."

After receiving the message, Violet Seth quickly showed the phone to Victor.

Victor read the message and couldn't help but laugh mockingly.

"Ask him how many people are coming with him," Victor instructed.

Violet Seth nodded and texted Mason Raymond: Mason Raymond, you absolutely cannot tell anyone about this; otherwise, the Palace Master will make sure I pay!

Shortly after, Mason Raymond responded, "Don't worry, I won't mention this to anyone. Tomorrow morning, meet me at the airport."

After seeing Mason Raymond's response, Violet Seth immediately gave the phone back to Victor.

Victor sneered, "He's bold enough to come to the Ice Palace by himself? Such arrogance!"

Violet Seth frowned, "Don't take Mason Raymond lightly—word is he eliminated two elders from the Michelle Sect!"

Victor's eyes narrowed as he smirked, "So what? Nobody gets away with causing trouble in the Ice Palace!"
