Chapter 444 444: End of the Second Ultimate War
Chapter 444 444: End of the Second Ultimate War
Taranis's gaze shifted toward Kharos and Hector, who had been forced to their knees by Barbatos. Along with them, the remaining soldiers of the empire, scattered across the battlefield, were all kneeling, their weapons cast aside.
"I will kill him," Taranis muttered, stepping toward Kharos.
"Is killing Kharos more important than saving Nymeria?" Voltrex asked, tapping Taranis on the shoulder.
"I need to reach level nine to save Nymeria," Taranis revealed. "I must fight him to break through."
"Are you sure you haven't already reached the ninth level?" Voltrex's question froze Taranis.
"I'm definitely at level eigh—" He stopped mid-sentence as he sensed the depth of Soulforce within him.
"Vivi, show me the status screen."
"Initializing host request..."

"I... I have reached level nine?" Taranis murmured, his eyes widening in shock.
While he was momentarily stunned, Voltrex roared in a thunderous voice,
"Warriors of the Hundred Sky Mountains, hear the command of your King!"
His voice was not even laced with Soulforce, yet it reached every soldier present on the battlefield.
"What is that old man saying?"
"How dare he call himself our king?"
"Doing something so bold in front of the prince. That old man must not value his life."
"His face looks somewhat familiar. Where have I seen him before?"
The Banes' army murmured among themselves, unable to identify Voltrex.
"I, Titan El Rockbane, Sect Master of the Rockbane Sect, answer to the Ruler of the Hundred Sky Mountains!" Titan's voice echoed as he slammed his hammer to the ground and dropped to his knees.
"I, Aethon El Flamebane, Sect Master of the Flamebane Sect, answer to the Ruler of the Hundred Sky Mountains!"
"I, Barbatos El Windbane, Sect Master of the Windbane Sect, answer to the Ruler of the Hundred Sky Mountains!"
"I, Tartaglia El Waterbane, Sect Master of the Waterbane Sect, answer to the Ruler of the Hundred Sky Mountains!"
One by one, all the Sect Masters knelt, bowing their heads toward Voltrex.
The soldiers were initially confused by the strange behavior of the Sect Masters, but all their doubts were cleared when Taranis spoke with a bow,
"I, Taranis El Thunderbane, welcome the return of Voltrex El Thunderbane, Ruler of the Hundred Sky Mountains and the mightiest warrior of the Western Continent."
The moment Taranis spoke those words, in the blink of an eye, every soldier of the Banes' army bowed, stabbing their weapons into the ground as a mark of utmost respect for Voltrex.
Voltrex did not give a long speech. The soldiers were exhausted, both physically and mentally. The injured required immediate treatment. He spoke only a few words, words every person of the Western Continent had longed to hear.
"The Hundred Sky Mountains have defeated the Azure Sun Empire. I hereby announce the end of the Second Ultimate War!"
Waves of jubilant roars echoed as the soldiers erupted in joy and relief. After two weeks that felt like years, millions of deaths that would stain the soil crimson for generations, and an intense clash that would go down in the history of Vyoman, the Second Ultimate War had finally ended.
Taranis did not have the luxury to relax yet. Due to the timely intervention of Voltrex, he had managed to regain his lost emotions. He had completely lost access to the golden lightning class, but had obtained something greater in its place.
He did not have the luxury to examine it.
He had lost both his arms, and although the breakthrough to the next level his arms couldn't be regenerated anymore.
He did not have the luxury to worry about that either.
His top priority was to reach the Hundred Sky Mountains as quickly as possible.
"Main Quest: Save Nymeria
Deadline: 3 hours, 5 minutes, 11 seconds"
With Vyaghra's help, Taranis rushed toward the Hundred Sky Mountains using Senseless Dimension.
The duo reached the open ground below the sky mountains within two hours. From there, they entered Heaven's First Step and ascended to Heaven's Sovereign Peak.

"How much time does she have left?" Lunaria asked, her complexion darkened with sorrow.
"You must not give up, Lady Lunaria," Ume replied, barely conscious herself. Her dark circles had deepened from sleep deprivation, and her Soulforce was nearly depleted. "Nothing will happen to Sister Nym."
The Death Energy had spread all the way to Nymeria's face. Only the area above her eyes remained unaffected.
"Oh Taranis, where are you?" Ume murmured, her eyes moist. "Please come back."
Suddenly, the door burst open, and two figures walked in. One was Vyaghra, and the other was Taranis, his body below the neck concealed beneath a cloak.
"Taranis!" Lunaria exclaimed, light returning to her lifeless eyes.
"Do not worry, Mother Lunaria," Taranis said with a faint smile. "I will save her."
Taranis moved toward the bed, his eyes widening as he saw Nymeria's condition.
Ume, who was pouring her Divine Soulforce into Nymeria's body, could barely keep her eyes open.
"You are here," she murmured, her voice barely audible.
"I'm sorry for being late," Taranis replied, pressing his forehead against Ume's. In a serious tone, he continued, "To save her, I need to absorb the Heart of the Fallen."
"By the Heart of the Fallen, you mean the artifact we found in the Abandoned Lands?" Ume asked.
Taranis nodded. "You know its effect. Make sure you do not lose focus when I take it out from another dimension."
"Taranis, the location of that artifact was never revealed because of the arrays in the Abandoned Lands. If you take it out here—"
"I'm aware, Ume. And you also know I cannot back down because of that."
A faint smile appeared on Ume's face.
"Take it out. I'm ready."
Taranis nodded and stepped back, giving the command inwardly,
"Vivi, take out the Heart of the Fallen."
