Chapter 1263 - 1248: Is Your Master a Charlatan?

Chapter 1263 - 1248: Is Your Master a Charlatan?

Song Yun’s eyes kept darting around as he considered the feasibility of his idea and how he would implement it if he really went through with it.

Just then, Song Yun clearly felt a wave of hostility.

Following the source of the hostility, he saw Yinyin glaring angrily at him.

Song Yun was taken aback. What’s going on now?

"I won’t let you scheme against the professor!"

Yinyin said.

Song Yun’s heart started racing wildly!

What the heck is this? Is this mind reading? I just thought of it, and you already know. Can we not be so supernatural?

"I can’t read minds."

Yinyin said to herself, "But I can sense it."

Song Yun wiped the sweat from his forehead, saying, "Yinyin, you’re overthinking it. Why would I scheme against the professor?"

The professor looked at Song Yun skeptically and said, "My student’s instincts are usually pretty accurate. Do you have any intentions toward me?"

"Damn, although I do have intentions toward you, it’s definitely not the kind you’re thinking of!" Seeing the wary look in the professor’s eyes, Song Yun helplessly muttered to himself, then smiled and said, "Professor, Principal Wang asked me to find you, what do you think?"

"Oh! I almost forgot about that!"

The professor suddenly remembered, "You’re here for half a semester, right?"

"Yes, as an exchange student in the Chinese Department," Song Yun replied.

"Chinese Department, huh?"

The professor frowned and said, "Today is Saturday, no classes yet. How about I take you to meet your department head and have him arrange things for you?"

"Thank you so much, Professor."

Song Yun thanked him with a smile.

"No problem, Old Wang and I are old friends after all." The professor then turned to Yinyin and said, "Yinyin, pack up the stuff and come with me."

"Okay."

The girl named Yinyin nodded and quickly started tidying up the things on the table.

In less than five minutes, everything was cleared up, and Song Yun was taken out of the lab by the professor.

"By the way, Professor, I still don’t know how to address you..." Song Yun asked on the way.

"You can call me Professor Tao," the professor said. "Normally, everyone calls me Old Tao, but since you’re an outsider, I must take some advantage of you."

"Oh, got it, Old Tao," Song Yun nodded.

"It’s Professor Tao," the professor corrected.

"Yes, Old Tao."

"Professor Tao!"

"Old Tao."

"Alright then."

It’s a pretty long walk from the Chemistry Lab Building to the Chinese Department Building. On the way, Song Yun managed to learn a bit about the girl named Yinyin.

Of course, most of this information came from Old Tao.

Yinyin’s last name is Ye, and her full name is Ye Yinyin, she is twenty-eight years old, and reportedly she is a PhD student at Danfu University. Old Tao is her PhD supervisor, and their primary research focus is chemistry. Surprisingly to Song Yun, they also have some research in biological pharmacology. However, according to Old Tao, they are researching chemical pharmacology. As for what chemical pharmacology is, Song Yun didn’t understand, and Old Tao didn’t elaborate.

Ye Yinyin barely spoke on the way, simply minding her own business, like watching stray cats by the roadside or couples passing by. When Song Yun tried to make small talk, she either ignored him or simply answered before continuing with her own thing. Song Yun could tell that she wasn’t doing it on purpose; in other words, she wasn’t trying to insult him, just being naturally carefree. The feeling Song Yun got was like a white cloud floating in the blue sky, or duckweed drifting on the water’s surface.

Song Yun once sensed a similar aura from someone.

Qingluan.

Though Qingluan took a more diverse path, there was still a sense of transcendent grace similar to Ye Yinyin’s. And Ye Yinyin is as attractive as Qingluan.

Thinking of Qingluan, Song Yun’s expression couldn’t help but darken.

Since the time Qingluan said she wanted to train, a significant amount of time had passed. Song Yun hadn’t called Qingluan, fearing he might disturb her, and Qingluan hadn’t called him either. Not that Song Yun constantly reminisced about Qingluan, but a line in his heart was always tied there. Song Yun hadn’t mentioned it, nor planned to tell anyone.

Some feelings, though as intense as old wine, just can’t ignite a fire.

Qingluan and Song Yun, like two stubborn kids, won’t feel worthy to be with Qingluan until he can beat her, while Qingluan desperately wants to grow stronger to protect Song Yun.

So even though they’ve been in love for a long time, they still stay proper and courteous, living separate lives.

Growing old never contacting each other.

Primarily because neither of them is the type to let emotions interfere with their careers and lives.

Song Yun needs to expand and progress, and Qingluan needs to do the same. If they spent every day tangled up in romance, what progress would they make?

Song Yun isn’t a god; he also needs time to enrich and grow himself, and the same goes for Qingluan.

"Sigh."

Song Yun looked at the clouds in the sky, feeling a bit lost. What’s going on between him and Qingluan?

"You two will end up together."

Ye Yinyin’s voice came from beside him.

Song Yun froze for a moment, then bitterly smiled and shook his head. This girl who seemed to have mind-reading skills genuinely gave Song Yun a sense of defeat.

"My master once told me that in this world, people are connected by red strings. Some people, even if they walk far and are apart for a long time, their red strings will ultimately bring them back together."

While fiddling with a small white flower she picked up on the road, Ye Yinyin continued, "I can sense that your red strings are always connected, so you’ll definitely end up together."

"Are you Cupid or something?"

Song Yun said with a helpless smile.

"I’m not."

Surprisingly, Ye Yinyin responded without ignoring Song Yun’s words, "But my master is the greatest person in the world. Whatever she says is true."

"Old Tao,"

Song Yun turned to look at Old Tao.

Old Tao shrugged and said, "Yinyin has a master. It’s said that she raised her like a mother from a young age. Yinyin coming here to study was also her master’s intention."

"Oh."

Song Yun nodded, looking at Ye Yinyin, he said, "Is your master a con artist?"

"No."
