Chapter 379 - 381 The Blessings of Mount Shu [4/10]

"Women are foolish. When a woman falls in love, she becomes an idiot," Dongfang Fengyun said, looking coldly at Qin Yuhan, who he now saw as spouting complete nonsense. "Love has robbed you of your composure. Wu Tian? How could he possibly be my match? The difference between a martial artist and a Cultivator is beyond your imagination. You think he’s invincible just because you like him. Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous."

Dongfang Fengyun laughed. Wu Tian was already heading toward the room. He could hear the footsteps, and it seemed those Five-Star assassins had failed to take Wu Tian’s life. But Dongfang Fengyun never had any hope that those men could kill Wu Tian in the first place—they were just for show. Besides, after Wu Tian dealt with them, his aura would likely be in disarray, making him no match for his son.

That was right. Dongfang Fengyun wanted Wu Tian to lose to his son, Dongfang Jiu, right in front of Qin Yuhan. He wanted Qin Yuhan to see that his son was the truly suitable match.

"Son, he’s about to enter. Are you ready?" Dongfang Fengyun inquired.

"Don’t worry, Dad." Dongfang Jiu clenched his fists. He had long been aware of his father’s plan and was eager to put on a good show for Qin Yuhan. The smile on his lips grew even more triumphant.

Even if he is the Martial Emperor of the surface world, I won’t lose! It’s no contest. One is a martial artist, the other a Cultivator. No matter how skilled you are in martial arts, how could it possibly compare to Cultivation?

"Yuhan, you know, a beauty like you deserves a strong partner. And I am stronger than Wu Tian. Since ancient times, treasures have belonged to the strong. Beauties are no exception."

"Indeed! The strong take what they want. Unfortunately for you, you’re just an ant."

BOOM! The door was kicked off its hinges and sent flying directly toward Dongfang Jiu.

"A petty trick!" Dongfang Jiu smirked, raising his hand in a knife-edge chop. Yuan Energy instantly gathered along the edge of his hand, making it as sharp as a blade. He intended to effortlessly slice the flying door in two, right in front of Qin Yuhan.

Of course, when making a move in front of a beauty, one’s actions had to be elegant to create a good, appealing image. He had already pictured the perfect, graceful posture in his mind. Finally striking a beautiful pose, he brought his hand-chop down on the incoming door.

CRACK!

The moment his hand collided with the door, Dongfang Jiu’s pupils dilated. In the next instant, the sickening crunch of breaking bone echoed through the room.

"AH!" A shrill scream followed. Dongfang Jiu clutched his right hand, tears of pain welling in his eyes. Though he was over three hundred years old, he had never known suffering. Cultivators didn’t even get sick. This was the first time in his memory that he truly understood the meaning of "pain."

"A worthless creature like you dreams of my wife? You’re utterly ignorant," Wu Tian said as he stepped inside. He glanced at Dongfang Jiu before looking away in disdain, feeling embarrassed for the man.

"You’ve finally arrived!" Upon seeing Wu Tian, Qin Yuhan’s beautiful, fair face lit up with excitement and joy.

"Good son-in-law!" Qin Zhengyang couldn’t help but exclaim.

Wu Tian gave a slight nod, walked over to Qin Yuhan, and reached out to gently caress her smooth cheek.

"You..." At a time like this... he’s still stroking my face? Qin Yuhan had not expected such a tender gesture. A shy, crimson blush instantly bloomed across her lovely face.

"You concentrated your energy into the door as you kicked it. That’s why Jiu’er was caught off guard," Dongfang Fengyun said, evaluating Wu Tian from head to toe. His expression was grave. "The power you cultivate is likely not Inner Strength, but Yuan Force, correct? Do you have any connection to the Underworld?"

What damned connection?

Wu Tian couldn’t be bothered to respond.

"Although you are more capable than my son, you are no match for me." Dongfang Fengyun, having lived for five hundred years, refused to believe his five centuries of Cultivation could be inferior to some brat’s. His gaze, fixed on Wu Tian, was filled with disdain and fearlessness.

Wu Tian said nothing, merely narrowing his eyes. He could see that this Dongfang Fengyun was five hundred and twenty-one years old. Yet, it was also apparent from the man’s conduct that Immortal Seekers weren’t very skilled in worldly affairs. This suggested that these so-called Immortal Seekers spent their days searching for Cultivation relics and traces of Immortals, rarely engaging in anything else.

In Wu Tian’s view, Cultivators had certainly existed in ancient times—figures like Liezi, who was said to have ridden the wind. But later, for some unknown reason, Cultivation died out. This led to the rise of the Immortal Seekers, who, while failing to find the Immortals they sought, stumbled upon numerous Cultivation relics.

"Time to die," Wu Tian said, tired of wasting words. He started walking directly toward Dongfang Fengyun.

Hearing his death sentence, Dongfang Fengyun showed not a shred of fear. Instead, he smirked proudly. "Martial Emperor, you may be the top expert on the surface of Dragon Country, but only on the surface. Your abilities are nothing in the eyes of us Immortal Seekers."

A cold smile touched Wu Tian’s lips. He decided he would not let this old fool die an easy death.

Dongfang Fengyun noticed the shift in Wu Tian’s eyes. They now held an utterly terrifying gaze—cold, ruthless, bloodthirsty, and cruel. Almost every brutal word imaginable could be used to describe it. Seeing this, Dongfang Fengyun’s body involuntarily took a step back.

Am I afraid? No! How could I possibly be afraid? Dongfang Fengyun refused to admit his body’s reaction stemmed from fear.

Just then, Wu Tian took another step, instantly appearing right in front of him.

"Sword Control Technique!" Dongfang Fengyun roared, struggling to react. At his command, a sharp sword from nearby flew toward Wu Tian.

The Eastern Taizhong Palace of the Underworld had obtained relics from the Mount Shu Sect. In a bygone era, Mount Shu was the foremost of the seventy-two sects of the Immortal Realm within the Mortal Realm. Located amidst the towering cliffs of Western Sichuan, its peaks pierced the skies like floating clouds, reputed to be a sacred land gifted to mortals by the heavens. Since its founding, disciples of the Mount Shu Sect had diligently practiced their Immortal Techniques. They entered the world to subdue demons, imprisoning them in the Demon Locking Tower to protect humanity from such threats. This earned them the deep love of the people, and they were revered as Immortals throughout the Shu Region. The Sword Control Technique was their signature Immortal Sword Technique. Later, for reasons unknown, the sect vanished from the world, leaving behind only relics that were eventually discovered by Dongfang Shuo.

"One Punch Breaks All Laws!" Wu Tian smirked. He didn’t need any fancy unique skill. He simply threw a punch.

The fist, charged with a terrifying amount of Spiritual Power, shattered the incoming sword before slamming viciously into Dongfang Fengyun’s face.

"AH!"

With a bloodcurdling scream, Dongfang Fengyun was sent flying backward, crashing hard into the wall.
