Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy

Chapter 27 Keep Rolling

Chapter 27 Keep Rolling

Wu Tian thought, I should find a chance to get out of here. It’s too boring.

Xiao Liang had the same thought. He was wearing a baseball cap and glasses to avoid being recognized, but the disguise made him uncomfortable. If he were not trying to observe Wu Tian, an old man like him would never do something like this.

Just then, the door to the private room was kicked open. Several thugs with red and yellow hair, all wearing tank tops, rushed inside. Their leader was a man with a scar over one eye. His left arm was wrapped around a flamboyantly dressed woman, and his right hand clutched a large machete. As soon as he entered, the man, Machete Liu Wu, demanded coldly, "Who is Wu Tian?"

Chen Cheng and the others instinctively looked toward Wu Tian.

"You? Good. You’re coming with us. I’ve got a few things to talk over with you," Machete Liu Wu said. Even with his calm tone, Machete Liu Wu’s fearsome face was enough to intimidate anyone.

Wu Tian remained unfazed. A bunch of ants buzzing in my face. It was almost laughable. The little one’s eyes widened as she watched the scene unfold. She was thrilled. Papa is going to fight again! So exciting! So happy!

"You can’t do this! Stop, or we’ll call the police!" Liang Qingren couldn’t help but jump to Wu Tian’s defense, playing the part of his protector.

The moment Machete Liu Wu saw Liang Qingren, his eyes lit up like a starving wolf that hadn’t seen a woman in centuries. He was practically drooling.

"I can let him go," Machete Liu Wu said, "but you, beautiful, have to come have a drink with me."

Hearing this, Wei Chunli, still in Liu Wu’s arms, looked displeased.

Chen Cheng, who had his own designs on Liang Qingren, was also unhappy. This isn’t how it was supposed to go! What’s happening? The deal was just to take care of Wu Tian! He wasn’t about to let someone else snatch Liang Qingren before he’d even had a chance. He stood up. "Wait a minute," he said. "Brother Liu Wu, could you do me a favor?"

"Do you a favor?" Liu Wu chuckled, though the smile didn’t reach his eyes. "And who are you?"

"I’m a good friend of Wei Chunli’s," Chen Cheng said, trying to curry favor.

"Is that so?" Liu Wu glanced at Wei Chunli.

She nodded. "Yes."

"Brother Liu Wu, since I’m Wei Chunli’s friend, that makes us friends too, right?" Chen Cheng declared proudly.

The other employees began to whisper among themselves. "Wow, Chen Cheng even knows people like him." "Yeah, impressive." Hearing their comments, Chen Cheng’s chest swelled with pride.

But Liu Wu’s next words wiped the smile right off his face. "Friends? A piece of trash like you thinks you’re worthy of being my friend?"

Wei Chunli felt she had to speak up, both for her relationship with Chen Cheng and for her own future standing. "Brother Liu Wu, he’s still my..."

"Are you getting jealous?" Liu Wu sneered. "I’m warning you, stay out of my business. If you do, you can keep being my plaything. Otherwise... heheh..."

Wei Chunli’s face went pale. A chill shot up her spine, and she didn’t dare say another word. Her expression turned miserable as she resigned herself to her fate.

"Now, the rest of you, get out," Liu Wu continued. "This woman stays."

The color drained from the faces of Chen Cheng and the others. They hesitated. If they just left, how could they ever have the face to pursue Liang Qingren again?

"Looks like you don’t know who you’re dealing with," Liu Wu said. He swung the machete in his hand, bringing it down on the table with a clean, powerful strike. With no hesitation, the blade sliced the table neatly in two. "Well?" Liu Wu sneered. "You think your heads are tougher than this table?"

Chen Cheng and the others were stunned. A group like them had never witnessed such a scene, let alone such a terrifying display of strength.

Only two people in the room were unimpressed. The first was Xiao Liang; his son’s bodyguards were far more skilled than this. The second, of course, was Wu Tian. To him, Liu Wu’s little trick with the machete was beneath notice. It wouldn’t have impressed the Immortal Emperor Wu Tian, and it certainly didn’t impress the Wu Tian of today.

But Liu Wu’s display had a massive impact on everyone else. The hearts of the many employees who had been pursuing Liang Qingren began to waver. They started whispering to each other, "Maybe we should just go?" "Yeah..." "This is a lawful society. I’m sure nothing bad will happen if we just leave."

Seeing this, Wei Chunli knew she couldn’t stop Liu Wu from going after Liang Qingren now. This is all Wu Tian’s fault. Yes, all his fault. If it weren’t for him, I never would have brought Liu Wu here. And if I hadn’t brought him here, he never would have seen Liang Qingren! Her hatred for Wu Tian deepened.

"Brother Liu Wu, let me serve you as well. I promise I’ll make you feel good," Wei Chunli cooed, rubbing herself against him. Liu Wu’s eyes took on a beastly glint, and he nodded excitedly.

"But," she added, "you have to take care of Wu Tian."

"Done," Liu Wu agreed instantly.

Wu Tian? Who’s that? Machete Liu Wu had never heard the name. Since he was a nobody, Liu Wu wouldn’t hesitate to kill him if he had to.

"Make your choice. Stay or leave?" Liu Wu said, his cold gaze sweeping over Chen Cheng and the others.

"I... I’ll leave," Chen Cheng stammered. He didn’t want to stick around and die. Liu Wu was a man from the Underworld; he had surely killed before. The fact that he was walking around free instead of rotting in prison meant he must have powerful backing. To someone like Chen Cheng, Liu Wu was a demon.

"Then get the hell out," Liu Wu barked.

"Yes, yes, yes." Chen Cheng and the others immediately began herding the other employees out of the room.

A woman named Juan paused to look at Liang Qingren. "Qingren, I... I’ll go call the police for you." With that, she scurried away.

Call the police? Watching Juan flee in a panic, Liang Qingren knew their friendship was completely fake.

"See? They’re all fake," Liu Wu said, shoving Wei Chunli aside. He approached Liang Qingren with a look of fawning sincerity. "Only I, Machete Liu Wu, can truly protect you."

"Get lost." At that moment, Wu Tian stepped forward, blocking Liu Wu’s path. His words stunned Liu Wu and his thugs.

"Yeah, roll away like a big round ball!" the little one in Wu Tian’s arms piped up in her high, childish voice. "If you don’t, I’ll hit you!"
