Chapter 666 - 640: Dogs Eat Meatballs, Humans Don’t
Chapter 666 - 640: Dogs Eat Meatballs, Humans Don’t
Qian took advantage of his pain to give him a psychological suggestion.
"Above is the sky, below is the earth, and in between is the conscience. When being a person, don’t be too stubborn, and definitely don’t go against the heavens, because it’s easy to incur divine retribution!"
Ye Daqian only saw Qian’s lips opening and closing, felt the world spinning, his vision went black, and he completely passed out.
No one knew what Qian said to Ye Daqian in the end, only that a pretty girl, upon seeing this poor man who got bitten by a dog, kindly soothed him, although she fainted right after comforting him.
At noon, during rush hour, there was a bit of traffic, and the ambulance hadn’t arrived yet. A doctor from a nearby clinic came over, bringing soap water, alcohol, and a syringe. After a dog bite, the wound needs to be cleaned promptly, rinsed out, and then wiped with alcohol or iodine. The clinic doctor was quite professional. A crowd stretched their necks, wanting to see what the dog-bitten brother looked like.
Qian also wanted to know, so she took a look—it was truly eye-burning.
The root cause that once harmed an innocent young girl was a bloody mess. The clinic doctor mumbled while wiping—could this ever be used again...
"I’ll help you with the alcohol," Qian stepped forward, "I’m also a doctor, but a psychologist."
"Thank you. I’ll clean his leg wounds," the doctor handed over the alcohol and tools to Qian, not forgetting to cover up the dog-bitten brother who was being stared at with a piece of clothing.
Qian took the alcohol, her hand trembled slightly, spilling some alcohol, which mixed with the essential oil on Ye Daqian’s clothes. The water-soluble essential oil quickly neutralized with the alcohol—dead men tell no tales.
Qian looked up at the glaring sun—what a nice day—and she was in a good mood too.
The wind blew her long hair, her elegant face expressionless, only with indifference.
Not far away, a guy with a yellow cap and a camera snapped the shutter, capturing Qian’s bright eyes and teeth, and then called his boss.
"Boss, she got rid of that troublesome Ye Daqian whom we all dislike."
"Oh? How did she do it? Is there a risk of being found out?"
"I didn’t see clearly. Anyway, a bunch of dogs bit that troublemaker into a eunuch. Those dogs were fierce; they bit off half an egg, and even when the guy tried to snatch it back, he couldn’t. Oh dear! She was far away when it happened; I couldn’t understand what was going on, and I bet the police can’t figure it out either—boss, could she hypnotize dogs?"
"I can hypnotize you and dock your bonus! Keep a close watch on her, and you can’t even handle this simple task!"
"Boss, please don’t dock my pay! Let’s talk it over! I was thinking if she couldn’t handle it, I’d come up with a way to deal with that nuisance, but she sorted it out herself. I’m not even sure how it happened—she’s brilliant!"
"Next week, report to her school and observe her up close. Understand?"
"Yes!"
The ambulance arrived, and Qian, along with others, lifted Ye Daqian onto the vehicle and watched it drive away, a smirk forming on her lips.
Her patience had been all spent on this brute. Goodbye, brute.
When Qian returned, Weiwei was already awake. Qian reached out to hug her.
"Baby, feeling better today?"
"Still very lost..."
"It’s okay. You’ll get better soon; everything will be alright."
"Oh, Liumei!" after comforting Weiwei, Qian suddenly remembered something.
"What’s up, sis?" Liumei, who was going through the job ads in the newspaper on the couch, looked up.
"The school you and Qiuqiu were rejected from, what’s it called?"
"Private Longfei School."
"I study at that school," Weiwei looked up at Liumei and said seriously.
"Is your school’s principal a straight-laced woman who wears dark glasses?" Qian hadn’t originally connected the dots, but after witnessing that female principal’s unreasonable thinking, she suddenly linked it to the incident Liumei and Qiuqiu encountered while job hunting.
Liumei was turned down because she was a girl, and Qiuqiu was rejected because someone found out about her gender confusion. Two unrelated incidents gave Qian a sense of connection.
There were only two private schools in Lishi, and Qian knew Weiwei went to a private school, so she wanted to see if it was the one with the principal who had gender issues.
"That’s her, Mr. Sun," Weiwei remembered the principal well, who was always stern and unsmiling.
"Is she usually unreasonable?"
"Yes, actually... our school had an incident the year before last where a male teacher harassed a female student, but in the end, the girl got expelled. I was afraid to speak up because of this..."
With Qian’s help, Weiwei was starting to open up about the secrets she had kept hidden.
The incident caused a huge stir at school, yet it was dismissed eventually. The female student was expelled for ’indecorous conduct,’ not wearing a uniform and wearing mini-skirts. The male teacher was relocated, but it was rumored he was the principal’s relative and was transferred to another school.
"As expected..." Qian sneered.
"What kind of backward thinking is that, where the bullied female student gets expelled?" Liumei was glad she didn’t get a job there; she would’ve been infuriated with her personality.
"I met that principal—she’s a terminal case of male chauvinism with no cure. In her mind, women who get harassed brought it upon themselves with their indecorous behavior. Such a woman leads a pitiful existence, thinking people with depression are weak and can’t get over things."
A male chauvinist would blame women for being victims of harassment, even considering depression as the excuse of weak people avoiding reality. It’s easy to talk when it’s not happening to them, saying things like if you’d just open your mind, you wouldn’t be depressed, ha.
Just like how the principal took money and dared to say Weiwei not wearing a uniform had the tendency to seduce male teachers. Who says chauvinism is only a male thing? If a woman is rigid, lives in her worldview, and constantly shows off her self-righteous opinions, then she’s the real cancer of society.
"Corruption starts at the top. Schools run by people like her are unfit to educate and only lead people astray. I’m so glad Qiuqiu and I didn’t go to that school," Liumei also had a poor impression of that principal.
"Let’s not talk about unhappy things. Liumei, let’s have a good lunch. Go buy some hot pot ingredients; we’ll eat hot pot with the air conditioning on. Weiwei, what would you like to eat?"
"Can I have meatballs?"
Qian touched Weiwei’s face, "Today’s almanac says dogs eat meatballs, humans don’t. How about Meiwei buys you something else? There’s plenty to dip in hot pot!"
"Okay!"
Liumei stroked her chin, "Dogs eat meatballs, humans don’t? What almanac says that?"
Qian looked at her with a bemused smile, saying nothing. The dog-eating meatball story was quite the spectacle, what a pity it couldn’t be broadcasted, a bit of a shame.
Lunch was a bit late but very sumptuous. Eating hot pot with air conditioning in the height of summer, with cola, ice-cold beer, and all sorts of dishes—it’s the ultimate foodie respect for summer.
Liumei tried hard to be funny, constantly telling jokes. Qian was in an exceptionally good mood from the food, and under their contagion, Weiwei managed to feel a bit cheerful too.
The joyful atmosphere was interrupted by a hurried knock on the door. Liumei went to open it, and a haggard Lv Zhi was standing there, pointing at Qian and swearing.
"You little bitch! You won’t end well, you actually, you actually—"
