Chapter 565 - 539: The Landlord and Her Image
Chapter 565 - 539: The Landlord and Her Image
The TV station and the radio station are both located in the same building. Once they stepped out and reached the parking lot, Qian found her little red car. Yu Minglang wanted to drive, but with just a look from Qian, he resignedly moved to the passenger seat.
She got her driver’s license a year and a half ago, with Yu Minglang personally overseeing her exam.
During her test, Yu Minglang specially adjusted his schedule to supervise. Standing next to the examiner, arms crossed and wearing sunglasses, he looked quite intimidating.
He had an air about him as if anyone dared to give a pass, he’d handle it harshly. Even the examiner felt pressured, thinking who really had the final say here. It was the first time they’d seen a family member not asking for leniency but instead keeping an eye on the examiner to ensure there was none.
Qian thought he simply didn’t want her to get a license, always doubting her driving skills.
Yu Minglang was pondering on taking Qian back for more driving practice if she didn’t do well in the test. But after seeing her impeccable driving skills, he calmed down.
She must have been a veteran driver in a past life!
And to punish him for his overzealousness, that night Qian made Yu Minglang sleep on the floor.
And then, halfway through the night, she was dragged down to the floor by someone who had the audacity to say, "If you don’t let me sleep on the bed, then you come down here and sleep with me. A real man keeps his promises to his future wife. If I said I’m not going up, I’m not going up!"
Whenever she drives, she’s reminded of his moments of shamelessness. That’s why now, she swiftly sends this guy to the passenger seat!
This car was a gift from my brother for their engagement. It’s aimed at urban office women, with limited and non-adjustable passenger space. Qian just enjoyed seeing him scrunched up there, suffering as he deserved!
"When did you get here? Have you eaten yet? How did you get in?"
"Firing off so many questions at once, which one do you want me to answer first, hmm?" The man in the passenger seat propped his chin on his hand, looking at his wife.
"Don’t tease me," Qian expertly reversed the car and drove out.
"I came right after the match, flew straight here. Haven’t eaten yet, waiting for you to feed me. As for how I got in... that’s a silly question, I refuse to answer."
"Show off! Is your work all done?"
"Of course. With me personally taking charge, it had to be a success."
Hearing him say this, Qian felt a sense of pride and was about to praise him when this guy giggled mischievously.
"I really missed you out there."
Qian smiled slightly; what a coincidence, she did too.
The house she bought is just a few minutes’ drive from the TV station. Qian purchased it earlier this year.
Over the past two years, she added two more properties under her name: one in the same neighborhood as her mom, another, a two-bedroom apartment in Lishi, close to the TV station. Although not very large after deducting common areas, its location is great.
As of now, Qian owns three properties and a commercial storefront. Besides the duplex, Yu Minglang also bought an office space and a shop from his brother. The stock market was in a bear phase, driving many into depression. But the couple not only managed to liquidate their stocks successfully, they also helped all their acquaintances do the same.
After cashing out, they invested directly in real estate. Though housing prices haven’t surged yet, Jia Xiufang had quite a few opinions on Qian’s actions. The daughter tightly managed her son-in-law’s finances and hoarded so many properties. Isn’t it enough to just have a place to live? Why buy so many?
But the issue was, the son-in-law didn’t mind. If Qian wanted him to buy, he would buy.
At one point, Jia Xiufang wanted to have a talk with Qian, hoping to dissuade her from buying more.
But instead of persuading Qian, she was tricked into buying a commercial property herself. By the time Jia Xiufang realized, she had already put her fingerprint on the papers and paid. Qian’s brainwashing skills were formidable.
Jia Xiufang’s commercial properties were all rented out. The rental income wasn’t bad. Yet, someone who was used to saving money found it odd to not save but to buy properties under Qian’s influence. Sometimes, Jia Xiufang would plan to talk to Qian, but even when she had her thoughts organized, she’d end up being brainwashed by Qian.
Eventually, Jia Xiufang gave up trying to intervene. She felt her daughter was especially persuasive, able to lead people’s thinking, much like an insurance salesperson.
Whatever, she decided to let it be.
As long as Yu Minglang is fond of Qian, no one else can manage this girl.
Qian knew that housing prices would soon skyrocket next year. Her plan was to cash in big by speculating before the boom. Her mother’s concerns would be allayed once she saw the rising property values.
Owning a few houses is better than anything. A decade later, when a certain listed company went bankrupt, selling two properties saved it from losses. Her mother always wanted to save money for a business, but what business could yield sixteen times its capital in ten years?
Real estate, real estate, and more real estate!
So, buying now benefits future generations.
Mr. Yu, under Qian’s persuasion, went so far as to buy land in the capital, sinking almost his entire fortune. Over these two years, his trust in Qian reached new heights, every prediction she made came true, making her his strategist and consultant.
Qian’s next goal is to hoard properties in the capital, where there are no purchasing restrictions yet, allowing her to accumulate more. This future small property mogul is rising.
They parked their car in front of a barbecue place near home to grab some food. At this hour, besides the barbecue joint, nothing else was open.
"Want a drink?" Yu Minglang asked Qian. In summer, having some skewers and beer was perfect, and he knew Qian’s drinking capacity well. The two occasionally drank together.
"Sure—actually, never mind." Qian initially intended to agree, but out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a familiar group sitting inside the shop, making her rethink drinking outside.
Yu Minglang was curious why she suddenly changed her mind, and following her line of sight, he chuckled.
This stubborn girl still cared about maintaining her professional image as a doctor in front of acquaintances.
