Chapter 519 - 493: The Suspense Comes to an End

"I’ll take a notebook and jot it down, so we know what foods to buy and don’t get it wrong. I’ve already made your mother’s snacks and will have them delivered to you—"

Qian pushed her glasses, and her aunt immediately changed her tone.

"I’ll deliver them personally to you!"

"Thank you for your trouble."

"It’s no trouble at all!"

"Alright then, deliver them before eight in the evening, and also bring a skewer for my little brother. Kids shouldn’t have supper too late."

"Sure, sure!" The aunt’s attitude was exceptionally agreeable.

"Also, my aunt won’t be able to help you. If Li Zhen finds out—" Qian made a knowing look, and the aunt nodded repeatedly, grabbing her small bag and rushing out.

"Doesn’t it seem like our little aunt hasn’t taken any time off?" Mrs. Yu asked Qian after the aunt left, right in front of her uncle without any reservations.

"Well, let’s give her a break now; when the aunt comes, our little aunt should take it easy. Uncle, you should go have dinner as well. No one should assist her; this is actually part of my treatment for her."

"I’m still by Li Zhen’s side, so I can’t leave. How about when she delivers your things, she brings them along? It’s all on the way."

The uncle felt the teapot was quite worthwhile; right as the treatment began he could enjoy the privileges of a feudal society man’s family status. Even someone was delivering meals; he hadn’t had such treatment in his youth, but now retired, he was enjoying life.

The aunt dared not have any complaints under Qian’s management, doing whatever she was told. Qian also told Mrs. Yu, even if she felt sorry for the aunt, she wasn’t allowed to help. At most, she could stand by while the aunt cooked and give some pointers.

Thinking back to how the aunt used to bully Mrs. Yu, Mrs. Yu was also told to treat her in the same way. Some people aren’t satisfied even when treated well; making her experience how she had treated others in the past is actually a help.

Mrs. Yu was after all a well-mannered doctor, and couldn’t do something as atrocious as using bloody menstrual underpants for washing as the aunt did back then. The most she had the aunt do was cook and tidy the kitchen. Even so, the aunt was exhausted.

It had been years since she’d done any chores, and after a busy day her whole body ached, even lifting her arms made them sore.

However, as her body became active, her mind became clearer; she had less to think about. Busy at her brother and sister-in-law’s house, she could see how busy the Yu family couple typically were, taking time occasionally to visit Li Zhen, working together for a common focus.

Eventually, Qian didn’t need to actively instruct the aunt anymore; she managed these tasks on her own, showing significant improvement.

While treating Li Zhen, Qian would occasionally remind the aunt, this was how you treated my future mother-in-law. Although the aunt wouldn’t admit it verbally, her attitude towards Mrs. and Mr. Yu became increasingly respectful, no longer as reckless as before. The aunt seemed to understand the significance of the extended family.

After staying for a week, not only did Li Zhen’s condition vastly improve, but the aunt also seemed transformed. Qian had effectively subjugated every defiant attitude; having subdued the aunt, she now had to greet Qian respectfully upon meeting her.

Mr. and Mrs. Yu both admired Qian, having tamed a person who had been a spoiled brat throughout her life; how often the family had accommodated her whims without hearing a single kind word about them. With how Qian had handled her, the aunt greeted her with a smile every day.

Qian explained the matter quite simply, giving children only sweetness spoils them; when severity is required, one must act strictly. The aunt was evidently spoiled by everyone; despite Qian’s harsh approach, she dared not make a fuss in front of Qian.

Qian enjoys being the ’bad guy,’ as being a bad guy is advantageous; no one dares to bully you. Of course, an arc enemy needs a fiercer opponent; reliance on kindness will never see resolution until turned to dust. Survival of the fittest is the result of human evolution; capability dictates status.

After treatment from Qian, Li Zhen’s psychological problems were finally resolved. Although the illness appeared serious, the treatment wasn’t complex.

If not for having to help eliminate emotional barriers between Mr. Li and his son, Qian could have resolved it in three sessions.

In the final treatment session, Li Zhen was completely fine, though due to a fracture he needed to remain bedridden temporarily, but could return to a normal state as long as he maintained his recovery. His mindset now was vastly different from before.

He is now able to face his own sexual orientation calmly; Qian instilled this perspective in everyone, homosexuality isn’t considered pathological in psychology. Treatment shouldn’t focus solely on Li Zhen; his family not discriminating against him gives him more courage to live.

Li Zhen gained his father’s understanding and saw his mother’s transformation.

It echoed Qian’s words: Thunderous rain showers and dew are all blessings from heaven, grateful for every change-inspiring node of fate, even when appearing tragic at the time; looking back fills one with gratitude.

Before leaving, Qian left a note for the uncle, including her treatment plan for the aunt and an itinerary.

Her treatment plan for the aunt was actually quite simple. Once Li Zhen could stand confidently, the uncle should take the aunt to a beautiful vacation spot, allowing the family to bond well; then return and immediately relocate to a new city to settle, preventing the aunt from contacting her previous circle of affluent women, forgetting her identity to rediscover her originality, to find a lasting connection.

Don’t treat the aunt exceedingly well; be aware of her social circle, ensuring she isn’t associating with people of impure motives. Though the aunt is headstrong, she is simple-minded; if not monitored, she may easily be exploited. Since the uncle was retired, he had time to take her on travels, accompanying her more, allowing her twisted heart to gradually return to family.

With everything well-managed and Qian carrying abundant gains, a bulging wallet was ready to hit the road; however, something unexpected happened, making her have to stay.

Qian received a call from Chu Xuan just as she was in the car arranged by Mr. Yu, ready to return to school, the car about to leave Q City.

"This is Chen Xiaoqian speaking."

"Mr. Chen, there’s, there’s trouble!" Chu Xuan’s voice was full of panic.

"Take it easy and speak slowly, what happened?"

Chu Xuan is Hu Meijing’s husband, while Hu Meijing was Lone Wolf’s fiancée. After Lone Wolf died, she developed an alternate personality, forgetting her past with Lone Wolf. Thanks to guidance from a teacher, she forgot the tragic past and married Chu Xuan, starting a new life.

Qian came into contact with Chu Xuan because he had a seasonal mania recently, which Qian treated successfully, resulting in Chu Xuan having Qian’s phone number.

"My wife, my wife went crazy!"

Chu Xuan’s overly anxious voice came from the phone receiver; having been one of Qian’s patients, he had particular respect for Qian, treating her as a lifeline.

Upon hearing these words, Qian’s heart skipped a beat, could it be—?!

"Don’t worry, calmly tell me what’s wrong with your wife?"

"She’s been feeling unwell these days, so I took her to the hospital for a check-up. It turns out she’s two months pregnant; we were very happy. But on our way out, she suddenly fainted, and upon waking claimed not to recognize me, screaming to see Lone Wolf, who is Lone Wolf?"
