Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 484 - 458: A Sudden Revelation

Chapter 484 - 458: A Sudden Revelation

"Chen Xiaoqian, there’s something I need to tell you, be prepared mentally." Zheng Xu’s steady voice came through.

"Mm, go ahead."

"Mr. Yu’s sister is planning to go to your school to report your unlicensed practice. I’ve found out that she was the one who had been investigating you before. Be prepared."

"..." Can’t this ghost just stay dissipated?

If Zheng Xu hadn’t mentioned it, Qian would have forgotten about such an annoying character still existing.

"Chen Xiaoqian, did you hear me?"

"Mm."

"Don’t take this lightly. She’s been planning this for a while. She found out about you treating Teng Daye’s daughter for anorexia, and even tracked down your high school teacher to accuse you of bad behavior at their home. The trickiest part is that she seemed to have traced your travel records and found out you’re still treating a girl named Jingjing."

"Hehe."

Isn’t this aunt busy enough, how come she hasn’t exhausted herself to death yet?

Is she looking at me under a magnifying glass?

"My people didn’t say a word, they only provided some false information, but she seems to have used other forces to investigate. I’ll keep digging to find out who had the audacity to go behind my back and look into this."

Zheng Xu’s words were full of barely concealed anger.

The deranged barking of the auntie didn’t stir Qian’s emotions; she now found Zheng Xu’s reaction amusing.

"How does it feel to have someone trying to undermine your base?"

"If I find out who dared to check on you without my permission, I’ll break her legs!"

Even though Xu isn’t all-powerful in Q City, he’s not far from it. Someone going behind his back to expose Qian and doing it so thoroughly definitely indicates some significant capabilities.

Zheng Xu felt this slap in the face was too painful, and he had to retaliate. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to face Qian or even uphold Xu’s name, which would be tarnished because of this.

"Aren’t we all adults now, carrying such a grudge? Alright, I know, it’s fine." Qian even had to comfort Zheng Xu instead.

This indifference was truly astounding to Zheng Xu.

"Chen Xiaoqian, you’re like an emperor——"

Realizing his words weren’t right, Zheng Xu faltered, but Qian seized the opportunity.

"Mm, I’m not in a hurry, you are. Little Xu, you can rest assured that after facing off head-on for so many years, I’ve never feared anyone. Why would I fear a menopausal old lady going crazy?"

"She seems to be pressuring your school, do you need my help?"

"No need, I’ll handle it myself."

"Then I won’t interfere——Chen Xiaoqian, why does your voice sound odd?" Zheng Xu had wanted to ask this question for a while now.

Qian lazily stretched, "What did you do last night?"

"With——" Xu’s life is never dull, almost revealing the truth, Zheng Xu stopped abruptly.

"What I do, what does it have to do with your hoarse voice?"

"Because, whatever you did last night, I did the same, got it?"

"Doo doo~"

The busy tone came from the other end of the phone, Qian shrugged, he hung up.

Zheng Xu’s patience was waning day by day; he didn’t even have the patience to listen to her flaunt her love.

Incidentally, this frustration likely caused by Qian was about to be vented on the unfortunate person who dared to check on her behind his back.

Qian was gloating; this was exactly the ripple effect she wanted. That person deserved it for poking around blindly!

As for that aunt... Qian sighed, this aunt truly was undeterred by repeated failures. She would get up after being stomped on, having been subdued by Yu Minglang, Yu Mingxi, and Yu Mingyi, one after another. Her son was sent to a remote and harsh area by Yu Minglang, and her husband’s promising career was cut short due to her, forcing him into early retirement. Yu Minglang even mentioned that the second brother confronted the aunt when she tried to make a big move.

It’s said that her husband was so angry that he wanted a divorce. Despite all this, this twisted old woman hadn’t given up on bringing misfortune upon Qian.

It’s not logical...

The aunt should have laid low and tucked her tail after Mr. Yu’s intervention, so why has she suddenly decided to pull the rug out from under and vex Qian?

What Qian didn’t know was that the aunt’s son, Li Zhen, had an accident somewhere. Li Zhen had been working in a mountainous area at a tough job. While conducting research in the villages, he accidentally fell into a ditch and suffered a spinal fracture. He is still undergoing surgery, and it’s said that the injury is close to the nerves, with a high possibility of paralysis. Treatment is still ongoing.

Aunt lost her mind upon hearing this. Her husband was already seeking a divorce, her home was in chaos, and now with her son’s injury, she blamed it all on Yu Minglang and Qian. After several confrontations, she viewed Qian and Yu Minglang as her adversaries, determined to prevent Qian from obtaining her degree. If her son became paralyzed, then no one would have peace!

Although Qian wasn’t privy to these details, she could guess that something had upset the aunt. Nevertheless, the aunt’s plan this time wasn’t as clever as her previous ones. To say she’s a distressed dog would insult the intelligence of dogs.

The only evidence the aunt currently had was the high school teacher, which was useless.

Beyond that, who would testify for her?

Teng Daye is Qian’s godfather, and the Teng family’s prominent reputation would never publicly acknowledge their daughter had a psychological disorder. Meanwhile, Jingjing’s family had moved from Q City to Lishi, living incognito to hide their daughter’s past, so they would never cooperate with the aunt to accuse Qian of unlicensed practice.

It seems an eye for an eye is in order; Qian intends to make this aunt have regrets so deep that she never dares to cause trouble again. Xiaoqiang is currently busy with work, so Qian will take matters into her own hands.

Qian already had a plan in mind, believing this time she could truly root out the problem. She didn’t even consider the aunt a concern.

Just then, Shi Touyu called, wondering why she hadn’t returned. Qian checked out of her hotel room and went to find Shi Touyu. They planned to meet up with Qiuqiu for some skewers at the night market. Unfortunately, the single-eyed chef from before was no longer there, the skewers weren’t as tasty anymore.

"Boss Qian, did you really blow up the dorm?" Qiuqiu asked Qian.

Shi Touyu was busy fighting Qian for the last chicken wing, using a dirty trick by figuratively spitting on it, making Qian reluctantly accept defeat. In retaliation, she scattered chili peppers over Shi Touyu’s plate of meat, and since Shi Touyu had acne and couldn’t eat too much spicy food, they both ended up enduring the consequences together.

Qian watched Shi Touyu eat the last chicken wing, sulking as she gnawed on her skewer, "We didn’t blow it up; we just repainted the walls to support campus construction."

"Isn’t that still blowing up? I notice the contrast between your external and internal images is quite drastic. It’s like you all have dual personalities. The varied persona of Boss Qian is expected, but Shi Touyu, since returning from vacation, your personality has changed a lot. Did you develop a split personality?" Qiuqiu teased.

Hearing Qiuqiu’s words, Qian was suddenly struck by a revelation. She looked at Shi Touyu and instantly understood, oh, Hu Meijing, so that’s what it was.
