Chapter 352 - 326: Qiuqiu Arrives
Chapter 352 - 326: Qiuqiu Arrives
As the group was chatting, someone rang the doorbell, and Jingjing’s mother stood up.
"The rice delivery has arrived." She had just bought some rice from the store downstairs, so the delivery must have come.
Jingjing’s mother opened the door, and outside was a tall, skinny young man carrying a 50-pound bag of rice. He cheerfully asked:
"Where shall I put it?"
"Qiuqiu?" Qian recognized him immediately. Isn’t this her mysterious roommate from the upper bunk?
Qian’s fourth roommate was named Qiuqiu.
He had gender identity disorder—female body with a male heart. He believed himself to be a man.
He usually didn’t live in the dorm but rented a place outside. He was cheerful and very sunny, and had a good relationship with the girls in the dorm.
"Qian?" Qiuqiu saw Qian and happily spread his arms, wanting to give a long-awaited reunion hug.
Yu Minglang stepped forward with a big fake smile and blocked Qian, causing Qiuqiu to brake suddenly, almost hugging the man, yuck!
"Who are you?"
"I’m Qian’s fiancé, Yu Minglang."
"Oh, so you’re the man behind the legendary Qian, hello." Qiuqiu was very enthusiastic, while Yu Minglang remained indifferent.
This scruffy kid with the weird hairstyle, where did he come from? And he dared to get so close to Mei!
Qiuqiu extended his hand, wanting to shake hands with Yu Minglang, who seized the opportunity to shake hands vigorously!
Even though Qiuqiu was quite strong, he couldn’t withstand Xiaoqiang, the muscleman’s intense handshake; he was sweating from the pain but, being a prideful person, gritted his teeth to endure it.
Qian couldn’t bear it anymore; from the side, she saw Yu Minglang nearly breaking Qiuqiu’s fingers.
"Alright, there’s no need to be so enthusiastic." Qian stepped up to separate Yu Minglang’s hand.
Qiuqiu quickly shook his hand, chuckling awkwardly.
"Qian, is your man a steelworker at a construction site? Those hands are really strong."
"Hehe..." Qian laughed awkwardly.
That’s how a jealous king behaves; she couldn’t control him.
"Qian, aren’t you going to introduce us?" Yu Minglang smiled sinisterly, showing his white teeth.
"This is my classmate, Qiuqiu." In front of outsiders, Qian couldn’t talk about Qiuqiu’s real situation, so she let the jealous king stew in his jealousy.
"Ah, so you’re a classmate of Mr. Chen. This kid is great, works very hard. Sometimes when we go to the market, we see him delivering goods. Plus, Jingjing can chat with him for a bit."
Jingjing’s mother had a good impression of Qiuqiu. Ever since the incident, Jingjing had an instinctive aversion to men, afraid to go out, terrified when she saw a man.
Her mother would take her for walks around the neighborhood when there were fewer people. Once, they ran into Qiuqiu delivering goods, almost bumping into Jingjing. Surprisingly, Jingjing wasn’t scared and even talked to him a bit.
"Qiuqiu, why are you delivering rice?" Qian hadn’t been able to contact him since vacation started.
"Oh, just working. I’m working three jobs now. I even bartend at night." Qiuqiu was trying to save a lot of money, spending the holidays working.
"Qian, do you have time for lunch? I’ll treat you guys to a meal." Qiuqiu warmly suggested; Qian had helped him out when he was really down, preventing him from going to extremes. She was his benefactor.
"Let my Xiaoqiang treat you; we’re getting engaged. Consider it an early celebration." Qian nudged the reluctantly willing Yu Minglang, who pretended to look out the window.
Who wants to treat this casually dressed brat to a meal? Who knows what thoughts he has about Qian.
"Well, Qian, I’ll head back to the rice store now. Come find me at lunch—Auntie, where’s your Jingjing?" Qiuqiu asked Jingjing’s mother, as he hadn’t seen the shy girl.
"She’s... a bit tired, she fell asleep."
After giving Jingjing treatment, Qian had directly helped her relax mentally and fall asleep.
"Oh, I’ll go now. Oh, give her this." Qiuqiu pulled out a small metal bunny from his pocket.
"What is this?" Jingjing’s mother asked.
"Last time Jingjing dropped this on the street. One of its ears fell off, so I found some welding rods to fix it and sprayed a little paint to hide it. I’m off to work now."
Qiuqiu waved and continued to make deliveries to the next house.
"This young man is truly hardworking and optimistic," Jingjing’s mother spoke to herself.
Qian looked at the repaired bunny and suddenly had a lightbulb moment.
"Auntie, you said Jingjing can talk with Qiuqiu, right?"
For Jingjing, who had suffered significant psychological trauma, she was currently repulsed by all men.
"Yes, I saw her talking to Qiuqiu quite a bit. Really, it would’ve been great to find a boy like him back then. It’s okay to be poor, the important thing is to be motivated."
Qian wanted to say, aside from Qiuqiu not being a man physically, his behavior and personal qualities really outshine many real men by a long shot.
"If that’s the case..." Qian thought for a moment and decided to wait until Jingjing woke up to observe her reaction.
When Jingjing woke up and saw the repaired bunny, she didn’t feel repelled. Even when Qian stressed that Qiuqiu fixed it, she showed no reaction.
Qian suddenly had a good idea.
While going down to find Qiuqiu, Yu Minglang was always sullen-faced; Qian wanted to chat with Qiuqiu alone, but he watched from afar, his face dark.
"...That’s the situation. Is it possible, Qiuqiu? I can pay you hourly." Qian explained the request to Qiuqiu, who cheerfully agreed.
"No problem, I don’t even need money; just some time every day will do."
Qian’s idea was to have Qiuqiu spend one hour daily with Jingjing, chatting, relaxing, or playing tarot cards, whatever goes.
Jingjing was especially afraid of men now, and this wasn’t good.
Even though she always wants to see the Phoenix scumbag, subconsciously she would still be repelled by him. That’s why Qian thought of this method—having Qiuqiu approach Jingjing as a therapy assistant, letting her feel the warmth of a non-prejudiced, non-toxic masculinity male presence.
This type of gradual influence would erase all negative impressions Jingjing had about men, making things easier for her next pet rabbit.
Isn’t it ironic? A mess caused by a bunch of toxic men gets cleaned up by someone who’s not quite a man, Qiuqiu.
But Qian couldn’t find anyone else to replace Qiuqiu. Perhaps Jingjing sensed the sunshine in Qiuqiu’s aura, so she didn’t reject him, and missing this therapy opportunity later would be difficult.
"I know you’re saving money, and I don’t want to take advantage of you, so I’ll pay you. I’ll pay hourly."
"Talking like that isn’t friendly at all; if you pay, I won’t do it. Just consider it my engagement gift for you from this poor fellow."
Qiuqiu was an exceptionally loyal friend; hearing him say that, Qian could only agree.
"But Qian, I think you shouldn’t hide from me. There’s something not quite right with Jingjing; tell me what’s going on with her?"
