Chapter 257 - 245: Clear Rewards and Punishments
Chapter 257 - 245: Clear Rewards and Punishments
The old waiter was stunned, quickly asking someone to call the boss, realizing they had offended someone and didn’t dare report to the police.
The shift leader kept smiling apologetically.
"Hey, we’re all just working—"
"Who’s working? Me? You just fired me. Now, I’m a customer."
Shuixian stood up and softly said to the shift leader.
Qian held her teacup, blowing the floating tea leaves, unperturbed.
"Dear customer, it’s hard for everyone. It’s almost meal time—can I apologize to you?" The shift leader didn’t expect to have upset such a big shot.
"Who has it easy? When I’m a customer, you act like the underdog. Have you thought about how hard it is for us workers?"
Viewing the world from another angle, it turned out to be like this.
Shuixian discovered the emotional outburst that Qian asked her to make was surprisingly satisfying.
"Your shop saves on manpower costs at the expense of the tears and sweat of countless underdogs. For three days, you exploited others completely. Not only did you make them do all the dirty and hard work, but even something like taking the blame, you made the newcomer shoulder it. A dish of twenty-five bucks reveals human nature and shows that such a shady shop as yours is doomed not to go far."
Qian put down her teacup calmly, clapping her hands. Not bad, starting to have the aura of a rich man’s daughter.
"Sis, I’m wrong. I apologize. Please have your people stand down." The shift leader and the waiters kept bowing, regretting severely. Who knew these two girls had such a strong background?
If Qian and Shuixian wanted to keep playing, this place wouldn’t sell a single dish all night.
"The table is dirty." Qian pointed at the table.
"I’ll clean it, clean it right away!" The shift leader hurried forward eagerly, and Qian picked up the shredded potatoes, dumping them on the floor.
"As a civilized person, I won’t make you lick them clean. Pick them up, pick them up by hand, without missing a single piece. And while picking them up, say you’re sorry, and always remember the consequences of bullying others."
"Yes, yes, whatever you say is right! I’m sorry, I’m sorry!" The shift leader quickly squatted with the old waiter, seriously picking them up by hand.
Shuixian looked at Qian, amused. "Is your idea an homage to Mrs. Rong from ’My Fair Princess’?"
"It’s a tribute to classics. To deal with bad guys without technique, I like using simple and direct methods. I admit it’s a bit boring, but it’s fun."
The group that had been ordering people around for the past three days turned into a bunch of submissives—a fact that Shuixian acknowledged as boring yet satisfying, as Qian said.
The feeling of frustration in her chest did indeed disappear; she had already stepped out of the drama. As a daughter with grandeur, she naturally wouldn’t be bothered by the difficulties posed by a few waiters anymore.
"Whenever you encounter anything that makes you unhappy from now on, don’t vent your emotions by torturing yourself. Your status entitles you to torture anyone. If you’re a bit wiser, your world must be broader than others."
Shuixian looked at Qian admiringly. "Was I holding a golden bowl while begging before?"
"More or less. If kids at school call you fat, just find some other way to get them back. A life without being mocked just means you lack value. Your fear shouldn’t be them but fear itself; no one can truly trouble you except yourself."
The conversation between the two made the still-apologizing waiters and shift leader glance at each other, as Qian and Shuixian’s world was beyond their comprehension.
"Let’s go, I’ll take you for a bath. This smell on you is unbearable." Shuixian smiled at Qian with a sense of relief.
As the crowd parted, Teng Daye walked in from outside.
"Dad?" Shuixian was quite surprised to see her busy dad make time to come over.
Teng Daye patted his daughter’s shoulder, "I’m here to take you home."
Shuixian’s nose soured, and a wave of emotion surged up in her heart. Her father’s appearance at this moment touched her greatly, making her feel that her growth was being noticed—something she had been denying previously.
"You’re not going to hug me, right? Daughter, this meat smell on you is overpowering, let’s talk after a bath—"
"Dad!" Shuixian couldn’t contain her inner emotions any longer, rushing over to hug him.
In the end, he was smeared with mutton smell, so the tears in Teng Daye’s eyes must be for washing away that smell.
Qian quietly walked out of the shop, not wishing to interrupt this genuine moment.
"Really, said she’d take me for a bath, now I have to go home and sneak out Dragon’s milk for a bath again."
Qian muttered, raising her arm to sniff her thick winter coat and then moved away distastefully.
As she walked down the street, the winter sun couldn’t rid the cold, yet it was comforting on her face.
Qian reached out to block the dazzling sunlight as a bullet car approached and stopped.
Yu Mingli rolled down the window and grinned at Qian.
"Get in."
"Big Bro, you swapped cars?"
This high-end seven-seater business vehicle, commonly known as a bullet, had a very large space, making it quite comfortable to sit in.
"I think you might need a bath now, I’ll take you."
Qian joked, "I better inform my sister-in-law first."
"No need to inform her today."
Qian tugged at the car door and burst into laughter.
Yv Zhaozhao had Panpan in her arms, waving at Qian, while two identical little boys in the back row greeted in unison.
"Hello Auntie!"
"Just call me Aunt." The term Auntie feels a bit early right now.
Qian turned sideways into the car, smiling at the twins.
"I took a day’s leave, got your big bro to take us out for fun, come, sit here." Sister-in-law patted the seat beside her.
"Big Bro, aren’t you busy today?" Qian asked Yu Mingli.
"Busy, yes; today’s mission is to accompany you all well. You, my little girl, truly managed to handle Mr. Teng."
"Then why not take this opportunity to have him sign the contract?" Qian asked.
Yu Mingli laughed heartily, "He won’t be able to escape. I’ll credit this success to you, so tell me, what do you want—do you have a driver’s license? Big Bro will buy you a car, get a driving license and save you from having to take cabs back and forth."
Qian shook her head, "What am I, a student, doing with a car? You’re such a big boss, yet coming to serve as my driver—this display is quite enough."
This time, Yu Mingli not only secured the deal but with great joy from the leaks in his emotions, happily offered to reward Qian with a car.
"I can’t let you work for nothing. Although your man isn’t here, he never takes losses. If he found out I had you carry plates for three days without any reward, he’d definitely turn my house upside down."
Yu Mingli understandingly assessed his younger brother Minglang’s domineering conduct.
Sister-in-law nodded along, "Yes Qian, don’t be shy with your big brother, just say what you fancy. Look at how he’s smiling; his face wrinkles have even smoothed out from his earnings on this deal."
