Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 181 - 182: Refresh the Rumor

Chapter 181 - 182: Refresh the Rumor

Yu Minglang is the most temperamental of the Yu Family. After his second brother’s divorce, he didn’t take the house back, and when Wang’s mother came to create trouble, Yu Minglang didn’t hold back and made things clear directly.

Wang’s mother can’t say she wants chaos; even if she wants to cause trouble, she has to find the right door first.

Regarding Wang Xiaohong’s matter, his second brother ultimately showed mercy and didn’t take her to court, handling it quietly. If Wang’s mother still doesn’t know when to stop, Yu Minglang has ways to deal with her. While his second brother hesitated, he didn’t.

This kind of inexperienced old lady, a simple threat would make her behave. The saying "an ounce of favor begets a pound of grudge" doesn’t apply in his world. Since it’s all hatred, he might as well retract the "favor" altogether.

Yu Minglang suppressed the matter under high pressure, and it didn’t stir up any waves.

Qian wrote a detailed report on Dong Yi’s first treatment and went to see Mr. Liu.

"Do not interfere; continue searching for methods?" Mr. Liu read out the last line Qian wrote.

"Yes."

"Why?"

"I want to ensure that each of my treatments yields positive outcomes. If the result is negative, it’s better to maintain the status quo until an effective solution is found."

Mr. Liu’s eyes showed a gleam of admiration.

Originally, she thought if Qian couldn’t handle it, she would take over. After all, this was a long-standing psychological issue, which ordinary therapists might struggle with.

Qian surprised her.

"Who taught you these treatment methods?"

You, it was you who taught me.

Theoretical knowledge was learned from textbooks; the practical part came from teachers personally guiding me.

Qian couldn’t say it directly and only looked into the distance, saying, "It was a teacher I highly respect. Although she never received the title of an academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in my heart, she is the most outstanding psychologist."

"Academician? Haha, I’m not one either, but I’ve still helped many people."

Qian roughly knew Mr. Liu had some issues with this title, so her reaction was not surprising.

"Where is your teacher now, is she from our school?"

Isn’t it you? Qian thought for a moment, "She’s gone to another world; I can’t contact her anymore."

Saying this shouldn’t be problematic, right? Liu Linlin from her past life and Liu Linlin in this life are like two worlds.

Mr. Liu assumed Qian meant her teacher had passed away and did not pursue it further.

Qian couldn’t figure out what she was thinking, so she proactively asked, "Mr. Liu, if you were my teacher, this treatment is stuck here, what advice would you give me?"

"I haven’t directly faced the patient, so I can’t make a hundred percent judgment. But since you’ve already started treatment, I shouldn’t engage further. Based on my clinical experience, people who’ve had such experiences might find returning to the scene of the event helpful in entering the right state."

Qian thought for a moment, shaking her head, "It’s been rebuilt there, and it’s different from before."

Mr. Liu was about to give Qian a hint when Qian’s eyes lit up, "That’s right, recreate the scene!"

Mr. Liu nodded, that’s correct.

Qian was very happy, bowing deeply to Mr. Liu, "Professor, thank you for your guidance, I’ll prepare immediately."

"The case—"

"After my second treatment, I’ll bring it to you!"

Once Qian had the idea, she acted swiftly, leaving in a hurry.

Liu Linlin shook her head, "I didn’t teach her, she realized it on her own. Her teacher must be a remarkable person..."

Qian took advantage of the moment when nobody was around to call her second brother, and put her request forward. Her second brother was silent for a while.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, this will surely cure Dong Yi, at least stop her from sleepwalking."

"Alright, I’ll arrange it. Needs approval, wait for my update." Yu Mingyi, upon knowing the little girl he rescued had psychological issues, became very attentive. So despite the demands Qian made being somewhat extreme, he agreed.

The waiting time for a reply from her second brother was a bit long. During this period, Dong Yi found a tutoring job, every Saturday and Sunday tutoring a young boy. At 8 yuan an hour, she could earn over 100 yuan a month. Dong Yi was very satisfied and cherished this opportunity.

Shi Touyu has been busy rehearsing with a club these past few days, fully integrating into university life, cutting ties completely with those messy friends under Qian’s guidance.

One afternoon, Shi Touyu went out with members of the drama club on a shared budget, while Qian and Dong Yi ate at the cafeteria. Just as they sat down, they heard someone speaking from behind.

"Is that Shi Yu from the art department really sponsored?"

Upon hearing this, Dong Yi straightened up and was about to get up. Qian pressed her hand, shaking her head.

"Yes, Xu Ruxin said the cosmetics she uses are all brought back from abroad. You see her usually dressing so plainly, how could she have the money for that."

Xu Ruxin? Dong Yi remembered, wasn’t she the useless girl Qian couldn’t fight?

"Wasn’t Xu Ruxin friends with Shi Yu?"

"Xu Ruxin discovered Shi Yu’s true nature and stopped associating with her. Who would’ve thought our school has students like that—ah!"

The girl speaking noticed Qian had somehow come over and sat beside her, arm draped over her shoulder, looking gentle, while Dong Yi stood beside Qian with a face full of anger.

"Classmate, following rumors blindly isn’t a good habit."

"Qian, Qian..." This was a well-known figure in school, no one didn’t recognize her.

Hearing rumors about someone’s roommate is an extremely awkward situation. Moreover, Qian carried an aura that made ordinary people feel slightly intimidated.

"The truth isn’t what you said, it’s this..."

Qian whispered something in the girl’s ear, and the girl looked astonished.

"Really?"

"I heard it from someone, who knows if it’s true, but classmate, one must not spread it around."

"I definitely won’t say anything!"

Qian’s eyes glittered. When women say they won’t spread something, often that means it’ll spread rapidly, ah, human nature.

Outside the cafeteria, Dong Yi asked Qian, "Qian, why didn’t you let me reason with her?"

"She’s not the source of the rumor. Explaining would only make things murkier and would offend people. They could end up spreading even harsher rumors, only hurting Shi Touyu in the end."

"So what did you whisper to her?"

"I didn’t say much. I just mentioned why Xu Ruxin always has men outside of school treating her to meals, and not just one. She always returns very late, and maybe Shi Yu saw something, that’s why she was slandered."

Qian’s words were half-truths. Xu Ruxin does have a habit of freeloading meals, and occasionally goes shopping at night markets with female classmates. But she isn’t that bad. She’s the type who freeloads meals but act coquettish, saying they’re just friends and won’t let anyone take advantage, a typical green tea woman.

Qian put these truths together, and how others would interpret it, well that’s out of her control.

The best way to counter a rumor is to create an even bigger rumor to overshadow it.
