Yu Minglang finally fulfilled his promise to watch a horror film with Qian.
While they were dating, he had said he’d be willing to accompany Qian to watch horror films in the future, but this time it was because he was in a bad mood, and Qian came out to keep him company.
Eastern Cinema is one of the larger theaters in Q City, playing an old-fashioned ghost movie at midnight.
Qian munched on popcorn while whispering to Yu Minglang, complaining about how fake it looked. These old ghost movies were full of loopholes, better suited for nitpicking.
Yu Minglang had been simmering with anger over his brother’s issues, but Qian’s deliberate complaints cheered him up, leaving him no space for anger.
There were hardly any people at the midnight show, with couples scattered in the large theater.
The couple in the front row had the girl snuggled in the guy’s arms since they arrived.
He watched Qian eat popcorn, worried that she might get scared.
Halfway through, Qian felt that there was no movement beside her. Why wasn’t Yu Minglang bantering anymore? She looked and saw him watching her.
"What’s up?"
"Qian, do you need to go to the restroom?"
"I don’t want to go."
"Come on, I’ll go with you."
Seeing his insistence, Qian got up. "Okay then, let’s go."
The cinema’s long corridor led to the restroom at the end. After coming out, Qian washed her hands and saw Yu Minglang standing seriously with his hands in his pockets, waiting for her.
"Qian?"
"What’s the matter?"
What’s this guy up to? Xiaoqiang lowered his voice and spoke softly.
"Your skirt’s zipper is broken."
Qian gasped. Oh really? What to do now?
"I just checked; this restroom is under maintenance. Nobody will come in; they’re all going to the other side."
The plan seemed perfect, but just as Yu Minglang was about to help her fix the skirt, they suddenly heard the door open, and both froze.
Qian shot a look at Yu Minglang, you jerk! Didn’t you say no one would come in?!
If someone found her hiding with a guy in the men’s restroom, who would believe nothing was wrong? She wasn’t interested in men’s restrooms, just fixing a zipper.
Yu Minglang’s reflexes were quick; he put down the toilet lid and let Qian squat on it. This way, they wouldn’t see two pairs of legs from outside! Qian decided never to go out with Yu Minglang again. It was so embarrassing!
"Wouldn’t we be discovered?" A woman’s nervous voice came, leaving Qian speechless. Looks like another pair with impure motives, like Yu Minglang!
But Yu Minglang frowned; that voice... sounded so familiar.
Qian, embarrassed, squatted on the toilet, hoping the couple would leave soon, but things seemed to be unfolding in a bizarre direction.
Qian blushed. This awkward moment!
"What if someone comes!" The woman seemed to protest, her voice sweet enough to give Yu Minglang and Qian goosebumps.
"I’ve checked; this restroom is under maintenance. Nobody will come in; they’re all going to the other side..."
Such familiar lines?
Could they have entered to fix a zipper too?
Evidently not.
Yu Minglang was nauseated; his plan seemed perfect, yet he bumped into someone else saying the same lines. Although he didn’t see their face, the voice sounded sleazy, instantly lowering Yu Minglang’s grade.
What’s more alarming for Yu Minglang was the woman outside; her voice was just too familiar.
Qian was still awkwardly squatting on the toilet lid, waiting for the people outside to leave, but...
The couple didn’t seem to have plans to leave.
This was awkward. Was she supposed to stay squatting here until they left and then leave herself?

She stole a glance at Yu Minglang and found his face growing darker. What was happening?
