Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 138: The Youngest Deserves It

Chapter 138: The Youngest Deserves It

The reason Mr. Yu didn’t park the car in the parking lot is that he bought too many things and didn’t have the energy, so he could only drive in circles to the building downstairs to save some effort.

But what about Yu Laomao, that shameless fellow?

Only when the big brother and sister-in-law’s car left did Qian turn her head, smiling sinisterly.

"Yu Minglang, you’re getting more and more shameless."

"Thanks for the compliment."

Yu Minglang readily admitted it.

He had found such a great girlfriend, how could he not show her off to the uncles, aunts, and neighbors in the courtyard?

His girlfriend was exceptionally graceful and witty, a real catch. He wished he could bang the gong and parade her around for everyone to know.

Moreover, having spent hundreds on matching outfits, it would be a waste not to show them off a bit...

Qian, seeing him be so shameless, wanted to continue to pinch him, but Yu Minglang immediately started talking.

"Uncle Zheng, what brings you here?"

Reflexively, Qian turned forward with a smile, quickly pulling back the hand that was resting on his waist, ready to pinch.

This Uncle Zheng looked somewhat familiar; she felt like she’d seen him somewhere before...

"I came by to take care of some matters and decided to have a drink with an old friend." Uncle Zheng smiled, looking at Yu Minglang and the young girl he was holding hands with.

"Come to my house, my old man has a bottle of Maotai tucked away, we could break it out for a drink," Yu Minglang said enthusiastically.

Being not from this city, it was rare to see Uncle Zheng.

"No, another time, I think you have plans today too," Uncle Zheng gestured towards Qian, and Yu Minglang laughed heartily.

"You guessed it right. This is my girlfriend, Chen Xiaoqian. Qian, this is Uncle Zheng."

"Hello Uncle Zheng." Why did he look so familiar, especially those eyes...

"You youngster already have a girlfriend, time flies," Uncle Zheng nodded.

Yu Minglang shifted his hand from Qian’s hand to her waist, grinning.

"It really does. Feelings are unpredictable when they come."

"Haha, you sneaky brat, always the clever one. To think, my second son is older than you, and I still wonder when he’ll let me hold a grandson; you and your family are indeed fortunate."

Given similar family circumstances, the Yu Family had even the youngest son bringing a girlfriend home. Uncle Zheng thought of his own two sons, feeling a wave of melancholy.

At this age, they already have everything they could need, those things they fought for when young now seem pointless. It would be better, like the Yu family, to return home and have grandchildren to hug.

"It will happen soon too, I hear your second son’s girlfriend count is impressive, surely there’s one just right for him."

Qian looked at Yu Minglang suspiciously, curious about who the second son was, and why Yu Minglang would talk about someone else’s many girlfriends in front of that person’s father?

Sure enough, Uncle Zheng’s expression darkened.

"If that boy were half as steady as you guys, I wouldn’t be so worried—never mind, let’s not talk about him, how have you been lately..."

Yu Minglang chatted with Uncle Zheng for a while before taking Qian and leaving.

After they’d walked quite a distance, he said to Qian,

"That was Zheng Xu’s father."

Qian finally realized why Uncle Zheng looked so familiar—those eyes resembled Zheng Xu’s!

No wonder Yu Minglang had been teasing him earlier!

Yu Minglang dodged Qian’s attempt to pinch him and said seriously,

"Look at me, being so considerate, giving you time to observe Zheng Xu’s father up close. Do you think Zheng Xu’s psychological issues are related to his dad?"

Qian thought for a moment and shook her head.

"Probably not, I feel like Uncle Zheng is quite a normal person. Although he seems a bit stern, he shouldn’t have such a negative influence on his child."

From those few minutes, it was apparent that Zheng Xu’s father was not a cold person who would ignore his child’s well-being. Despite his notable status, his eyes softened when mentioning his children, and though his words were critical, he seemed genuinely satisfied with his son.

"If it’s not family influence, then he must have done too many bad things on his own." Yu Minglang nodded seriously.

Qian squinted, reached out, and gave him a sharp pinch, "Don’t think that by changing the subject, I’ll forget how shameless you are!"

Having a girlfriend with such a good memory isn’t always a good thing, Yu Minglang thought, wondering if his waist would bear bruises the next day.

But then he thought, his situation might actually be better than his father’s; at least being pinched in the waist isn’t as visible as having your ear twisted...

Qian wondered what his home would be like, perhaps antique-like or strict and oppressive. But upon arriving with Yu Minglang at his house, she found it was just an ordinary home, with nothing particularly special.

Even the furniture was from the 1980s, adorned with landscape paintings. You could see the scratches on them. Everything was clean, free of excessive decoration, though there were some obviously valuable items casually placed around. Not deliberately hidden or flaunted, they spoke of substantial depth.

Yu Minglang’s mother appeared to be a very precise and disciplined woman, looking younger than her actual age. Yu Mingxi’s features seemed to take after her. Yu Minglang’s father and his second brother Yu Mingyi both had very stern appearances, with deep nasolabial folds and not a hint of a smile.

As Yu Minglang led Qian into the house, Mrs. Yu and the sister-in-law were waiting at the door. Mrs. Yu immediately noted that this girl looked quite good, with the main attraction being her aura. How could she describe it...

Pleasant.

Having reached their family’s position, they’ve seen all types of people, and observed many friends’ children. It was rare for someone this age to exhibit such composure, conduct themselves so appropriately, and dress suitably. It seemed they had found someone who knew their limits.

Mrs. Yu couldn’t help but think of the second family’s situation, remembering the outfit on the girl’s first visit... She sternly halted her imagination; better not to think about that, it was troubling.

She quickly focused more on Qian to calm herself, growing happier the more she gazed.

Qian did not expect to be met with such a lively welcome, with sister-in-law personally handing her slippers and Mrs. Yu grabbing her hand, unwilling to let go.

Yu Minglang understood well: there’s no harm without comparison. Compared to the second sister-in-law, the one he brought home was positively outstanding.

Mr. Yu sat on the sofa, upright but sneakily observing with the corners of his eyes. He had assumed the girl who sneaked in late at night with the youngest son would be a charmer, but what he saw was a neat and clean young girl, with good qualities.

He was a bit relieved but couldn’t show it, so Mr. Yu sat even straighter.

"This old man who insists on putting on airs is my dad—Dad, why are you dressed like this at home, trying to scare someone or what?" Yu Minglang saw his dad in formal attire, with a stern face, as if trying to intimidate his girl?

Being called out for putting on airs made Mr. Yu’s face flush with embarrassment. He stood up and kicked Yu Minglang across the room.

Everyone except Qian laughed at Yu Laomao—it served him right!
