Rejected and Pregnant: Claimed By The Dark Alpha Prince

Chapter 832 1

Chapter 832 1

As Karmen and Aisha finished their vows of lifelong devotion and togetherness, the hall erupted in applause.

Karmen pulled Aisha closer, tilting her back for a kiss. From the front row, Gabriel let out a sharp, joyful whistle that drew laughter from the surrounding crowd.

Some time later, the guests migrated to the grand dining hall for the reception dinner. Amidst the movement and chatter, Dominick and Juniper quietly excused themselves, stepping away from the main gathering to find a moment of solitude.

Juniper stood near the edge of the terrace, holding a glass of champagne. She looked out at the lights of the hall before turning to Dominick.

"Jeniva, your new mate, seems strong," she remarked. "And I can see you have grown; you are treating your woman much better than before."

Dominick frowned slightly at her comment. It wasn't like he never treated her well but then, if Juniper felt that with him, he decided to accept it instead of retorting.

"I am glad you have moved forward as well," Dominick continued, observing her reaction. "Denzel fought for you, and it is clear he intends to stand by you in every situation."

Juniper nodded, a genuine look of relief crossing her face. "He does. He has never made me feel insecure or inadequate. In front of him, I feel comfortable enough to drop the pretense. Everything I suppressed, everything I forced myself to hide to fit in, it all just faded away once I started spending time with him."

Dominick remained silent, listening intently as Juniper laid her thoughts out plainly.

"You were right, Nick," she began, her voice steady. "I spent a long time convinced that we were perfect for one another, but that wasn't true. You couldn't understand me because I refused to be honest about who I was. And once the truth finally surfaced, you weren't prepared to accept the reality of it. I realized this clearly while spending time with Denzel. We were simply moving forward because of a fated bond that had been forced upon us. Back then, I was angry and resentful, but that is gone now. In a way, I have you to thank; because of how things ended, I am now living a life without fear, with a man who is committed to doing everything for me."

Dominick nodded slowly, acknowledging the weight of her admission. "It is good that you have finally reached that understanding. I had my own faults, too, which I have only been able to correct with Jeniva by my side. It is a difficult reality to accept, but sometimes, a fated bond is simply not meant to last a lifetime."

Juniper finished the last of her champagne and set the glass aside. "We should return to the main hall," she said, turning and walking away before Dominick could offer a parting word.

Dominick stood on the terrace for a moment longer. He looked up at the dark sky, which was crowded with stars and the glow of the moon, before finally turning to follow her back inside.

He took his seat beside Jeniva, immediately noticing that she hadn't touched her meal. "Why haven't you started eating?" he asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.

Jeniva turned to him, her expression soft. "I was waiting for you," she replied. She shifted her gaze toward the other end of the banquet hall, where Juniper was laughing as she talked with Denzel. "She looks truly happy," Jeniva murmured.

Dominick followed her gaze, watching the way Denzel stood beside her, attentive and calm. "She is," he stated firmly. "She finally found someone who will treat her like his queen."

"That is nice," Jeniva replied, her expression peaceful.

Dominick reached under the table, finding her hand and giving it a gentle, reassuring squeeze. "If I ever display any behavior that makes you feel low or insecure, I want you to tell me," he said.

Jeniva chuckled, shaking her head. "Let us focus on eating before the meal goes cold. I have not felt any insecurity thus far. Rest assured, I would speak up immediately if I ever did."

She turned her attention to her plate, beginning her meal. Dominick watched her for a quiet, appreciative moment before he, too, picked up his cutlery to eat.

Across the room, the atmosphere was different. The noise and the sheer number of people had become overwhelming for Noah, who began to cry in his seat. Amelie started to push back her chair, intent on taking him to a quieter space, but Gabriel reached out, placing a hand on her arm to stop her.

"Finish your meal," he whispered, his voice calm. He stood up, lifting the wailing toddler into his arms. "Daddy will take you outside for a while," he murmured to Noah, heading toward the quieter exit to soothe him.

Once they were outside, the cool night air seemed to soothe Noah's distress.

"Look up there," Gabriel said, shifting his hold to point toward the expanse of the sky. "There are so many stars tonight. And that," he continued, gesturing to the glowing orb above, "is the moon."

"Moo," Noah mumbled, his thumb drifting toward his mouth. Suddenly, a sharp breeze swept across the lawn, causing his hair to flutter and making him jump slightly in his father's arms.

"Gabriel, is he finally feeling better?" Amelie's voice came from behind.

"He is calm now," Gabriel said, turning to face her. "Though you really should have finished your dinner."

"How could I eat when he was so upset?" Amelie replied, stopping as she reached them.

Noah reached out, his tiny finger pointing toward the sky, though he missed his target since Gabriel had turned. "Mama, moo," he babbled.

Amelie frowned, looking at him in confusion. "Moo?"

"He is trying to say moon," Gabriel explained. He shifted his position, guiding their view until the crescent moon came into sight.

"Moo!" Noah chirped again, clearly delighted by the sight.

Gabriel rested his hand on Amelie's shoulder and drew her close to his side. They stood in silence, watching the moonlight illuminate the night and the moment conveying everything they felt without the need for words.
