~Belinda’s POV

He motioned to the guards. "Leave her here. Don’t unchain her. She can rot until she remembers something useful."

"No!" I cried out. "Please! Don’t leave me like this! Please! I told you everything!"

But they were already leaving. The heavy door slammed shut.

I was alone again.

The sound of my sobs filled the room. My body hurt everywhere. My arms burned. My back stung. My heart ached more than all of it.

I leaned my head back against the cold wall and whispered weakly, "Moon Goddess... please... let them believe me. Please."

Then everything went dark.

When I opened my eyes, everything hurt. My head throbbed, my back burned, and my throat felt dry like sand. I blinked slowly, trying to see clearly. The room was still the same, the torture room. The air still smelled of blood and smoke.

But this time... someone was sitting there.

My heart skipped.

It was Damon.

He sat opposite me, on the wooden chair, arms folded, eyes fixed on me. His face was blank, but cold, colder than I’d ever seen it.

"D... Damon," I whispered weakly, tears instantly filling my eyes.

He didn’t reply. He just watched me.

I tried to sit up, groaning in pain. "You... you came..."

Still, nothing.

I started crying harder. "Damon, please... please, I’m sorry."

No response.

My chains clanked as I moved closer, crawling toward him. I didn’t care how dirty or weak I looked; I just wanted to touch him. I reached him and wrapped my arms around his leg, pressing my face against him.

"Please, forgive me," I sobbed. "I know I failed you. I know I broke your trust. I was foolish, I was blind. I took your love for granted. Please, forgive me. Please."

He stiffened, then shoved me back roughly. I hit the floor with a soft cry.

"Don’t touch me," he said, his voice flat but sharp.

I looked up at him, shaking. "Damon... please..."

He glared down at me, eyes like fire. "You should be thankful you’re still breathing."

I froze.

He leaned forward, his tone colder now. "The only reason you’re alive is because we still need you to tell us where Fridolf is. That’s all."

My tears fell faster. "I told them... I told them already... I don’t know where he is. Please, believe me."

He shook his head slowly, eyes full of hate. "You’re not the one who should be begging me for forgiveness, Belinda."

I swallowed hard. "Then... who?"

"Lisa."

Her name hit me like a blade.

I stared at him, confused, broken. "Lisa?"

"Yes." His jaw tightened. "The one you betrayed. The one you hurt. The one who did nothing to you."

My chest rose and fell rapidly. "Then bring her," I whispered quickly. "Bring her, and I’ll apologize to her. I’ll tell her how sorry I am. I’ll kneel if I have to. Just bring her."

Damon’s nostrils flared. "You think it’s that simple?"

I blinked, frightened by his tone.

He stood slowly, towering over me. "You almost killed me, Belinda. Do you understand that?"

I shook my head, sobbing. "No... I didn’t mean to..."

He raised his voice, shouting, "You almost killed me with the help of our uncle!"

I flinched at his tone, my heart racing.

He stepped closer, anger shaking his voice. "And worse, you killed our child!"

I froze completely.

He was breathing hard now, his fists clenched. "Our unborn child! The one Lisa carried!"

My lips trembled. "Damon... I didn’t... I swear, I didn’t mean...."

"Shut up!" he snapped.

I tried to reach him again, but he moved back.

"Damon, please," I cried, shaking my head. "I didn’t want that to happen. I didn’t! Please believe me. I was scared. I thought..."

"You thought wrong!" he roared. "You thought betrayal and murder would give you peace? You thought helping Fridolf destroy us would make you strong?"

"No!" I sobbed. "No, I was weak! I was stupid! I let him use me! I didn’t know what I was doing! Please, Damon..."

He cut me off with a cold glare. "You disgust me."

Those words shattered me more than the torture had. I could barely breathe. "Please..." I whispered.

He didn’t answer. His expression darkened. "You don’t deserve mercy. Not after what you did."

I shook my head, tears blinding me. "Please... please, don’t say that. I still love you. I.."

He laughed bitterly, the sound sharp and cold. "Love?" His eyes were full of pain and anger, a mix that made my heart sink. "Don’t talk about love, Belinda. You don’t get to use that word."

I tried to move closer, crawling on the floor, even though every part of me hurt. "Damon, please... I never wanted to lose you. I know I did terrible things, I know I hurt you. But I still love you. That has never changed."

He stared at me like I was a stranger. "You think love erases what you did?"

I bit my lip hard, shaking my head. "No... it doesn’t. But I swear, I didn’t mean for any of it to happen. I didn’t want to hurt you, Damon. I was scared, I was confused, I was...."

"You were selfish," he said, cutting me off. "You were jealous and blind. You let your hate control you. You sided with monsters."

"I didn’t side with them!" I screamed through tears.

I pressed my palms to the floor, crying harder. "I didn’t mean to destroy anything! I lost control, Damon. I swear, if I could take it back, I would. I’d do anything....anything-to....to make it right."

He shook his head slowly, his jaw tightening. "It’s too late for that."

"Please," I whispered, my voice breaking. "Please, Damon... don’t say that. Don’t look at me like that. I can’t stand it."

He stepped closer, and for a second, I thought maybe, just maybe, he would soften. But his face stayed hard. "You’re only sorry because you got caught. Because you’re in chains now. Not because you understand what you did."

"That’s not true," I said quickly. "I understand. I know I destroyed your trust. I know I can’t undo it, but I would give my life to make it right. Please believe me."

Before I could finish, his foot came down hard, kicking me in the stomach.

Pain exploded through me. I gasped, curling up, clutching my side.

I tried to speak, but the pain was too much. My breath came in short gasps.

He looked at me one last time, his eyes cold, emotionless. "You’re lucky I didn’t end you myself. The Moon Goddess must be the only reason you’re still breathing."

My vision blurred. The last thing I saw was him turning away, his back straight, his heart locked away from me forever.

"Da... Damon..." I whispered weakly.

But he was already gone.

Darkness wrapped around me again, and everything went quiet.
