Reincarnated as the Weakest Magical Beast

Chapter 124 124: Emilia wakes up

Chapter 124 124: Emilia wakes up

Mimi had awakened, yet her master remained suspended within the mysterious trial.

There was nothing left to do but wait.

So Mimi settled into Veronica's arms. Her feline instincts took over, heavy eyelids dragging down despite the tension in the room. Sleepy as she was, she allowed herself a brief catnap.

A few hours passed.

Mimi had just begun to adjust to the weakness in her limbs, drifting into a deep slumber, when her eyes snapped open.

She felt something. A pulse from her master.

The mark on her head glowed faintly as the connection between master and magical beast flickered back to life.

Hup!

Mimi jumped down from Veronica's arms, landing lightly despite her fatigue, and turned toward Emilia.

Seeing this, the Deathguards snapped to attention.

Nervousness etched into every face. Hands hovered near hilts. Breath held tight in chests.

Now. This was it.

The moment of truth.

Failure or success would be known within seconds.

Suddenly—boom!

A burst of killing intent exploded through the room. It was crushing, heavy, suffocating. Amaras jumped back, sword drawn in a flash of steel.

But the others froze.

Even the twin knights, the strongest among the Deathguards, could barely hold their weapons without shaking. The air grew thick, pressing down on their lungs like there were some kind of invisible mountain crushing down onto them.

"M-My liege? What is going on?!" Veronica's face pale with panic. "Why is she radiating this?"

"I do not know!" Amaras answered, sweat beading on his brow. His hand trembled.

Even the King felt a chill of horror at the intent radiating from Emilia.

"This killing intent… this desire to destroy everything in its path… I have never felt pressure so strong. Just what happened to the Silvervein child?"

Meanwhile, Mimi's heart hammered against her ribs like a war drum.

Just then, as panic spread through the room, the brilliant crown upon Emilia's head shifted. The gold darkened, turning obsidian black. Behind her, an image flashed into existence, six massive wings made of shadow and darkness!

She looked like a fallen angel now!

Amaras gasped.

"DEATHGUARDS!" he ordered, voice cutting through the haze. "PREPARE FOR BATTLE!"

"YES, MY LIEGE!"

The other all shouted at once.

At this point, they had already classified Emilia as an extreme threat!

"No! No!!" Mimi turned back and shouted, though only a desperate meow came out.

"My liege, could it be… she failed the challenge?" Veronica's voice trembled.

Amaras stared, sword raised. Even he was uncertain. The crown had never turned black like this. Never.

But then he paused. He sensed a shift in the pressure.

"No… she succeeded?" Amaras breathed. He lowered his sword, eyes widening. "I can feel it. Great authority. Emilia has fully inherited it. The Crown… the Mark of Lionera!"

As if in response, the black wings disintegrated into dark particles. They flowed like a river of smoke, traveling through the air before sinking into the back of Emilia's hand.

The Mark of Lionera—the symbol of the lion-shaped constellation—was now tattooed onto her skin, glowing with a bewitching dark purple.

Booom!

Another wave of pressure swept the chamber.

This time, it was not just killing intent. It was command.

Amaras and all the Deathguards were forced to their knees. Their bodies bowed against their will, overwhelmed by the sovereignty radiating from the girl on the throne.

And suddenly, all felt the urge to speak. The words rose from their throats unbidden, compelled by the authority of the Crown.

"Oh great heir, we welcome you. The 27th King of Lionera!"

"May our Kingdom glory on for eternity!"

"The King's greatness sweeps all heaven and earth!"

Seated upon the golden throne, wearing the black crown, Emilia opened her eyes.

She still bore the beautiful face of a young girl, but the aura surrounding her had shifted completely. It was as though the very color of her presence had changed.

The old Emilia was calm and kind.

The new Emilia was cold as ice.

Her pupils had narrowed into terrifying shards of icy blue, and her gaze held the weight of a villainess staring down a doomed world.

"Rise, my knights. And you, former monarch."

Her voice boomed with authority, strong and powerful. Instantly, Amaras and his knights reverted to their true forms. Shadows clung to them like armor, their undead nature surfacing in plating of dark steel. The aura of death choking the space intensified, responding to her command.

Emilia, the new King, stood. She was clad now in a regal gown of midnight, woven from some kind of darkness magic that flowed like liquid shadow.

She looked stunning. Like a goddess descended from a dark sky.

However, Mimi trembled.

Her master looked so different. Much stronger, yes, but also so cold, devoid of emotion.

Mimi's heart sank. She did not like this.

What happened to her? Is this really still my dear master Emilia?

Wait! I can check her status! Maybe I can understand what is going on!

Mimi focused immediately, activating her insight.

But then…

What?!

It hit her like a physical blow.

Her master's stats were… unreadable?!

The numbers were gone, replaced by jumbled, chaotic text that swirled like static!

Mimi trembled, unsure what to do. If Emilia was no longer Emilia… wouldn't that be catastrophic?

Then, Emilia's gaze fell upon her.

For a second, Mimi was scared. She took an instinctive shaky step back and her tail tucked between her legs.

But then, Emilia's expression once again changed.

The icy blue softened. The darkness receded from her eyes, replaced by a familiar warmth. The kindness returned.

"Mimi…" Emilia then choked out, tears welling in her eyes. "I missed you so much…"

She extended her arms.

As she did, a surge of emotion flooded Mimi's heart. She could feel it, through their connection, that her master was truly glad to see her. That Emilia heart was beating in joy too as she could see her dear Noctifelis again, even though they had never actually been apart.

And Mimi was too. She was glad that her real master was back.

She leaped into Emilia's arms.

"MASTERRR!"

And just like that, the King and her Noctifelis were united. Emilia squeezed her gently, burying her face in the fluffy black fur.

Mimi looked up, meeting her master's teary eyes. Emilia petted her head, stroking with tender care.

"Meow…" (Master, what happened? Mimi was so worried.)

"Don't worry. I'm back now," Emilia said softly.

As her hand brushed Mimi's fur, the system interface flickered again. Suddenly, Mimi could see Emilia's stats once more.

The numbers had increased so drastically that even she was shocked.

So this is the power of the crown?

Damn!

These are all amazing skills!
