Redemption of a Born Demon

Chapter 121: The Demon Sound’s Cleansing, Revival in an Instant

Chapter 121: The Demon Sound’s Cleansing, Revival in an Instant

’Is... is this even humanly possible speed?!’

Jiang Yiyang was shaken to the core, but that wasn’t even the most important part.

He’d felt all along that there was something familiar about Yi Beidou, but he could never quite place it. Now, after witnessing that scene, something finally clicked.

While everyone around him was in an uproar, discussing the contestant’s cardiac arrest and potential death, Jiang Yiyang took out his phone. He opened a short-form video app and started scrolling through his saved videos about the Dragon Tiger Town incident.

One of the videos, shot from behind, captured the entire sequence of Yi Beidou jumping from a helicopter and landing on the ground.

As he watched, the figure in the video and the one on the stage—that same unique aura—seemed to merge into one.

GULP!

Jiang Yiyang couldn’t help but swallow.

’Could this Mr. Yi, the one sitting in the head judge’s seat, actually be the mysterious, Superman-like figure from the video?!’

While Jiang Yiyang was reeling from his discovery, back on the stage...

At Yi Beidou’s words, all the medical personnel turned to look at the young man seated in the head judge’s chair.

None of the medics knew who he really was.

"This... Mr. Yi, the patient’s condition is critical. Please don’t interfere with the rescue. Follow our lead."

The matter was urgent, so the middle-aged man in charge of the medical team spoke to Yi Beidou in a stern, impolite tone. The patient simply couldn’t afford any more delays.

As far as he knew, Yi Beidou wasn’t a medical professional. He couldn’t just let some outsider do as he pleased.

His team was well-trained. Despite the unexpected interruption, they didn’t stop their resuscitation efforts. A defibrillator was on its way, and they were preparing to use it immediately.

"Everyone, do as Mr. Yi says!"

Just then, a voice cut in. A middle-aged man in a sharp suit was running over. He looked like one of the on-site security guards.

The head of the medical team, however, knew that this man was the true director of the Wencheng tryouts—a high-level official from a relevant department.

"Relax. It’s a small matter, but dragging it out won’t do any good."

At that same moment, the official heard Yi Beidou’s voice right beside his ear. He blinked, and Yi Beidou was gone.

The official whipped his head around and found that Yi Beidou was now standing behind him. The medics who had been clustered around the patient suddenly felt the hair on their arms stand up. A chill crept into their hearts, and they instinctively took a step back, clearing a path to the man on the ground.

Yi Beidou was already crouching, one hand resting on the contestant’s chest.

The next moment.

HUMMM!!

The medics heard a low, vibrating tone emanate from the young man’s chest. As he pressed his palm down gently, they could have sworn they saw a faint, blue-white light shimmering around his hand.

Then, they all witnessed something incredible.

The contestant—who had collapsed from cardiac arrest, completely breathless—suddenly convulsed as if shocked by electricity and shot upright.

RETCH!!

A mouthful of black blood spewed from his lips, splattering across the floor.

The contestant looked left and right, his gaze dazed, as if he still hadn’t processed what had happened.

"Alright, he should be fine now. Take him to rest. If you’re still worried, you can give him a full check-up,"

Yi Beidou said.

The man’s condition wasn’t complex. He had taken a sudden, heavy blow to the chest, causing instant blood stagnation and blockage around his heart, which led to cardiac arrest.

Yi Beidou had used the Demon Sound to cleanse the man’s body, adjusted his Life Magnetic Field, and stimulated his system with Evil Qi to clear the blocked blood. Naturally, the man was fine.

In truth, he could have been saved with prompt medical attention. However, a long delay could have led to heart damage, leaving behind a latent injury that would affect his future Physical Ability and progress. That was why Yi Beidou had stepped in.

Besides, it was no trouble at all. Since he happened to be there, he figured it was fate.

The surrounding medics, however, were frozen in place, stunned by what they had just seen.

’What kind of technique was that?!’

’A critical patient in cardiac arrest... saved just like that?!’

’And why did we all back away instinctively and clear a path for him?’

Everyone looked toward Yi Beidou, who had already turned, left the stage, and returned to his seat at the judges’ table.

「Meanwhile.」

The head of the medical team was also frozen in place, unable to comprehend what had just happened. The middle-aged man in the suit—the one who looked like a security guard—ran over and patted his shoulder.

"Dr. An," the official said in a low voice, "from now on, if Mr. Yi makes any requests, you are to follow his instructions to the letter."

"Captain He, could he be..."

Just then, the contestant who had won the match walked over. He looked toward Yi Beidou, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

He was part of the inner circle. Anyone able to participate in the Martial Hero Conference would know a thing or two.

"That’s enough. Some things are better left unasked,"

the official said noncommittally.

Hearing this, the contestant’s expression grew even more fervent, as if he had just witnessed a True God in the flesh.

As for the audience, the entire venue had erupted into chaos.

They had just watched the young judge suddenly take the stage and seemingly get into a conflict with the medical team. Just as they were all cursing under their breath, thinking it was another case of a layman trying to boss around experts, the young man simply placed his hand on the patient’s chest. And the patient—the one who had the entire medical team in a panic, whose life was hanging by a thread from cardiac arrest—had suddenly shot up, alive?

The sight was simply too miraculous, defying all common sense.

’How on earth did he do that?’

"Holy shit! He saved someone from cardiac arrest just by laying a hand on him! There’s no way you can explain that with some traditional massage therapy, right? Could it be that Mr. Yi actually has real Inner Strength? Did he just use Inner Strength to save him?!"

In the section where the Dechang University Martial Arts Club was seated, Shen Jiayue’s eyes went wide, and she couldn’t stop a curse from slipping out.

You don’t become the vice-president of the Martial Arts Club by being some cutesy, delicate flower. Despite being quite attractive, Shen Jiayue was a well-known tomboy.

"No wonder he’s sitting in the head judge’s seat. He’s a real martial arts master?"

"Does Inner Strength actually exist? How else can you explain what just happened?"

The other members of the Martial Arts Club were all chattering excitedly.

Just then, out of the corner of her eye, Shen Jiayue noticed Jiang Yiyang sitting beside her, staring blankly at his phone, completely oblivious to the commotion. She couldn’t resist slapping his shoulder. "Jiang Yiyang, what are you doing? You’re missing all the action to scroll on your phone?"

"Senior, I think I’ve discovered something huge,"

Jiang Yiyang snapped out of his trance and said to Shen Jiayue in a low, serious voice.

"What secret?"

Shen Jiayue blinked, taken aback.

Jiang Yiyang turned his phone toward Shen Jiayue and hit play on a video.

"Senior, I think... this Mr. Yi is the person in this video!"
