Chapter 1169 1169: Held hostage
Both stiffened for a moment, sitting awkwardly with Muyang in between them. Lin then quickly took the toddler in his arms. Shui wondered where to dig a hole and bury herself in it.
I didn't have to hurry that much!
Lin watched Muyang's eyes sparkle and he wrapped his chubby arms around his neck. Giggling, he squished his temple against his chin.
"Baaaaa...Haaaaa..." Little Muyang was apparently very excited to be held by Lin, slapping his palms against his jaw.
"I think he is trying to say something," he tilted his head, unaffected by him pulling and pressing his lips.
Shui forced herself to escape from the earlier embarrassment and said, "Probably, he is saying hi. He is just learning to speak a few words. For now, he can say Ma and Da."
"I see," he looked at him. "Hello."
Lin tickled him under his neck to which Muyang laughed heartily.
"You remind me of Cai when he was a toddler. Your bright eyes are just like his."
Muyang felt he was praised so he hopped around even more. He clasped his nose in his little fists. Then he looked at Shui and clasped her nose with his other hand.
"Baaaaa!" his eyes sparkled.
"Hehee, Muyang, you like our noses?" Shui grinned.
"Aaaaaaaa."
Muyang pulled Lin's nose on one side and Shui's on another with his little might. At first, Shui laughed along with her nephew, but when her face got close to bumping against him, a sudden realization doomed her.
"Mu-Muyang, th-that's enough. Hehe, my nephew is so strong~"
Muyang's head tilted for a moment and with sparkling eyes, he pulled them closer even further. She lacked the tears to shed.
Muyang dear, please spare your aunt!
Their faces were hardly inches away and for a change, Shui noticed that Lin, too, felt a certain level of hesitation from his side. Their gazes met and both remained strangely still.
This is a little...
Shui's gaze automatically glanced left and right randomly before noticing a small mark on his face. A small black dot was on the side of his upper lip.
"Was I blind this whole time or do you have a mole?"
"I do."
I could only see that since we got so close..ugh! Wait that sounds too misleading, she coughed.
Suddenly, a look of horror flashed in her eyes, and her fingers slapped across her face as she patted them everywhere.
Oh my God, I don't have pimples anywhere, right? If I can see his mole up this close, surely he can see my blackheads, right?
Gaahh, this is so embarrassing!
Lin was curious as much as puzzled. "What are you doing?"
Saving my self-respect...
"I don't think you have any moles, but..."
She stiffened.
But? But what? Is there a pimple after all?
Lin's hand reached toward her slowly as his index finger approached closer to her eye.
Do-do you really have to point it out?
He pressed in that spot for a moment, making her slightly conscious. She could faintly feel his breath over her chin and she shifted a little.
It's a pimple, isn't it!
"An eyelash," he showed it to her that lay on the tip of his finger.
Shui blinked several times. "That's what you saw?"
He paused. "Were you expecting me to find something else?"
Not at all!
Shui heaved a huge of relief.
"Hoooooo," Muyang, while still clutching onto his prized noses, looked at Shui's eyelash curiously. He then happily cooed as if Lin found a treasure, which he helped him find it.
"Ahahahaha! What are you three doing?" Nuo, who had returned by now, clutched her stomach with laughter, seeing the odd position the trio was in.
"It's like Muyang has held you two hostage...by your noses. Just look at him. He looks so proud," she trembled and laughed some more.
"He is very cute," Lin wasn't the least bit bothered.
Nuo quickly took out her phone and clicked several pictures of them.
"Sis-sis! Don't do it!" Shui cried.
She gasped. "This is a golden picture! No wait, this is the best laughter medicine of all time. This must be shared in the chat group."
"No way!"
"Yes, way!"
Shui tried to leave, but little Muyang wasn't in any mood to let her go yet. Instead, it looked like he would drop a wail if she ruined the fun.
Lin blinked. "Is it that embarrassing?"
Shui glared. "Clearly, you are enjoying this very much."
"Aren't we adults simply a giant version of toys for babies?"
"W-what is happening...?"
A trembling voice came from the entrance which belonged to none other than Zhiyuan. His hand was quick to clutch his chest as he alternated his gaze between Shui and Lin.
"Dad!" Nuo happily hopped to his side. "Isn't this such an awesome picture?"
Zhiyuan took a look and staggered further backward, feeling his heart in his throat.
"W-what is going on here?"
Why is my daughter so close to a certain man! What is this I'm seeing!?
"Muyang is holding them hostage," Nuo chirped, fully aware of what he was thinking because she knew what Jinhai would think in this situation. Both fathers were carbon copies in that sense. But she enjoyed his heart attack.
"Aren't they so cute?" She beamed, only merrily poking him further.
It will be cuter if they will be a little more distant than they are now!
But Zhiyuan kept his urgent thoughts to himself and walked toward the trio. His cold gaze rained over Lin, to which he was blissfully unaware of.
"Hey, Dad.." Shui looked awkward.
He looks mad...
Zhiyuan dropped a pleasant smile all of a sudden and held Muyang. "Aish, did my grandson enjoy being the little kidnapper? Time to free your hostages now~"
Muyang sensed his attempts to drag him away from Lin and Shui, and he protested with all his might. At one point, he was close to dropping a loud wail, so Zhiyuan released him in panic.
"Okay, okay, don't cry."
But at least let go of Shui please! I don't accept this proximity!
Lin tickled Muyang under his chin and in a burst of laughter, released Shui's nose from his adorable clutches. Lin was still being held hostage though, which he didn't mind.
"Oh that was a good idea!" Nuo brightened. "You sure know your way around children, right Dad?"
