Chapter 1030 - 819: The Journey of Ye Qing’s Second Half of Life (2) Extra 3
Unable to find the driver, Han Yi directly returned to Lin Wan’s hospital room. She was asleep when he left, and still asleep when he returned.
This made Han Yi a bit worried.
Liang Qian, on the other hand, consoled him, saying, "The doctor said this is normal, given how much blood she’s lost. Her body is weak, and her spirit is low. These are normal phenomena. She’ll be better in a couple of days."
Han Yi remembered the last time he was injured, losing a lot of blood, feeling just like this.
Knowing Xiao Wan had eaten lunch, he felt much more at ease, tiredly pinching the bridge of his nose, sitting in front of Lin Wan’s bed. Within two minutes, he unexpectedly fell asleep.
Liang Qian originally wanted him to go home and rest. Now seeing how exhausted he looked, she didn’t dare to wake him. She just gently touched his forehead, fearing his wound might be infected, causing a fever.
Little Star, seeing her dad asleep like this while sitting, felt for him. Quickly, she took Lin Wan’s jacket from the previous night, clumsily trying to drape it over Han Yi with her little hands. However, after a long time, she still couldn’t manage it.
In the end, it was Liang Qian who helped her cover Han Yi with it.
"Mom and dad are both asleep. Little Star, let’s go home with Second Grandma first, okay? We’ll make something tasty for your mom and come back later."
"Okay, Second Grandma, let’s go quickly."
"Alright, let’s go."
After Second Aunt took Little Star out of the hospital room, Han Yi’s closed eyes slightly opened. He had been asleep, but he woke up when Second Aunt touched his forehead.
Later, he noticed his daughter adding clothes for him. He wanted to reach out and hug his sensible daughter, but feeling her clumsy movements, he found her especially adorable. He let her fuss over him and in the end didn’t want to move, allowing them to care for him.
With no one else in the room, Han Yi leaned closer to the bed, held Lin Wan’s hand, and fell asleep at the bedside.
When Lin Wan woke up, she felt much more spirited. Noticing the room was quiet and that all the chatter from Xingxing was gone, she raised her eyes in confusion to look around. To her surprise, Han Yi had returned at some point and was now sleeping soundly on her leg. Lin Wan didn’t dare to wake him; she carefully sat up slightly and helped tug the clothes on him.
She recalled the time when she was unconscious, unsure if it was a dream or an illusion. Everything inside was the same as in her past life, truly existent. She remembered Han Yi holding her and the words he said.
Perhaps this is what really happened in the previous life, she just didn’t know. Thinking about her life in the last lifetime, it can be summarized in one word: self-inflicted disasters, harming others and herself.
Not a single moment was a relief for the family. Now thinking back on those long decades, she doesn’t even know how she got through it all, not having grown any amount of wisdom.
Perhaps it was the heavens who couldn’t stand it, feeling she owed too much to her family and Han Yi, particularly sending her back with Han Yi to make amends for her mistakes.
When Han Yi awoke, he saw Lin Wan half-lying in bed, holding a cup of hot water, staring intently at him.
Han Yi raised his hand to check his watch and found it was already very late.
"How did I sleep for such a long time? Why didn’t you wake me up?"
"Seeing you sleep so deeply, I didn’t dare wake you. Since there wasn’t anything urgent, I let you rest. Sitting and sleeping for so long, aren’t your legs numb?"
Han Yi shook his head, instead looking at Lin Wan and asking, "It’s already past eight, have you eaten?"
"Yes, I have. Godmother brought it from home. She even saved a big portion for you."
"Second Aunt came?" Han Yi only then realized how deeply he must have slept.
"Not only godmother, all the people from the Mei Family came today. Grandpa and grandma came in the morning, father-in-law, and godfather in the afternoon. They saw you were asleep, so they didn’t wake you."
Han Yi lowered his head and rubbed his temple, surprised at how tired he was. So many people came in the afternoon, yet he heard nothing.
"Are you feeling better? Are you still dizzy?"
"Much better, the doctor said my head injury is healing well, and the baby’s heartbeat is stable. I feel like I could be discharged in a few days, but the doctor insists I stay until the baby is born. That’s more than a month away. I really want to go back to Z City."
"Be good, listen to the doctor. There’s a reason for it. To prevent any unforeseen situations, let’s stay here. We’ll go back after the baby is born."
Lin Wan was somewhat satisfied, clinging to Han Yi and acting coquettish, "You can’t stay here long, leaving me all alone on this side. I don’t want that."
"I’ll be accompanying you for the next few days. When it’s close to the due date, I’ll definitely come back. Also, Second Aunt called Mom and Dad yesterday. They’ll probably be here tomorrow. I’ll talk to my mother-in-law about staying with you while I’m gone. How about that?"
"Godmother told me today. I just don’t want to be apart from you and our daughter."
Han Yi ruffled Lin Wan’s hair, saying, "It’s only temporary. Where’s godmother?"
