Reborn: I Won't Chase You Anymore, School Prince

Chapter 75: Don’t Like This Iceberg

Chapter 75: Don’t Like This Iceberg

Warren and Livia Sutton were having dinner together, and it was really just dinner. Each ate their own food, and even when their gazes met occasionally, they quickly looked away.

No one spoke.

However, Warren was too lazy to speak, while Livia didn’t dare to speak.

During the meal, Warren ran into an acquaintance at the restaurant. When the acquaintance asked about Livia, he introduced her earnestly: "This is our company’s new project partner."

The acquaintance nodded, greeted her, and didn’t ask further.

Livia wasn’t enjoying the meal at all. She couldn’t imagine how having dinner with someone could be so boring and exhausting.

While eating, Livia thought of that pretty girl from earlier.

The pretty girl seemed to have forgotten to take her roses with her.

If Livia wasn’t mistaken, Warren probably liked her, right?

But seeing him looking so dead, it’s no wonder he couldn’t win her over!

Girls don’t like iceberg types like him!

In today’s society, warm guys are the eternal gods, you know?

Besides, if you like someone, just like them. Why let them misunderstand that we’re a couple?

Isn’t that purely annoying?

Serves him right if he can’t get her!

While Livia was boringly ranting about Warren in her mind, Warren’s voice suddenly broke the silence—

"Miss Lia."

"Ah..."

Livia was startled and cried out in surprise.

Warren looked at her in confusion, his dark eyes showing clear bewilderment.

Livia realized her reaction was too exaggerated.

But when you’re badmouthing someone in your head and they suddenly call your name, it’s really scary, okay?

But from the look on Warren’s face, he probably hadn’t noticed her mental rant.

Livia heaved a sigh of relief and hastily explained, "Sorry, I was deep in thought, so... my apologies."

"It’s okay."

"Did you need something from me?"

Warren glanced at her empty plate and said, "I just wanted to ask if you wanted to order more dishes."

"No, no, I’m already full."

Warren nodded.

"Alright, then I’ll take you back."

"No, no need, my boyfriend will pick me up soon; you can go ahead, I’ll wait here for him."

Having dinner was suffocating enough; being trapped in a closed car would just be outright suffocating, okay?

Warren didn’t insist after hearing this, said, "Alright," and then stood up.

"When you get home, could you pass my regards to Director Sutton and thank him for his cooperation and guidance during this period."

"Sure, sure."

"Alright, goodbye."

Livia quickly put on a smiling face: "Goodbye!"

Finally freed!

Feel sorry for his future wife. Facing a man like this, won’t she freeze to death indoors in the middle of winter?

Warren had no idea what Livia was thinking, or rather, he didn’t care at all.

To him, Livia was just a partner, just a person, and it didn’t matter whether the person was a man or a woman.

However, once he got in the car, he received a transaction notification.

It was from Ashley Shaw.

She’d transferred back the money he paid for her table.

Warren smirked self-deprecatingly.

He knew Ashley would transfer it back, yet he still bought the meal before "joining tables."

Pathetic.

His finger hovered over the confirmation button on the screen, but he hesitated to press it.

As if that could add some ties between them.

After pondering for a long time, he finally typed out a sentence.

Warren: [What’s going on between you and Cillian Xavier?]

Warren withdrew a message.

Warren: [Are you two together?]

Warren withdrew a message.

Warren: [No need to transfer the money back, it’s not much.]

Ashley wasn’t even looking at her phone at the moment; she had transferred the money to Warren while heading upstairs, and as soon as she entered the door, she saw Ariana Grant holding a trash bin and retching.

Her heart jumped to her throat, and she couldn’t be bothered with the phone chiming.

She even forgot to change shoes as she rushed over.

"Ariana! What’s wrong?!"

She clearly remembered Ms. Shaw often felt nauseous and vomited before her diagnosis.

Ariana looked at Ashley in confusion.

"Ashley, why do you look so pale?"

Ashley was obviously scared.

Staring at Ariana’s pale face, she spoke rapidly, "Don’t worry about me, what about you? Are you feeling unwell somewhere? Do you need to go to the hospital now?"

Ariana was even more bewildered.

"I’m not unwell anywhere."

"Then why are you holding a trash bin? And your lips are so pale."here are too many technical terms, and if I can’t keep up with the language, never mind learning properly, I won’t even understand the classes."

"Oh, oh." Ariana wasn’t suspicious and nodded, "That does make sense. But your spoken English is pretty good."

"That’s high school level, it’s not at the level for studying abroad."

Ashley was afraid Ariana would keep asking questions.

She wasn’t going abroad, indeed because of Ariana, but she couldn’t let her have a guilty conscience, thinking she was holding Ashley back.

So Ashley found an excuse to take a shower and quickly slipped back to her room.

After her shower, Ashley finally saw the messages from Warren.

Two messages had been retracted, followed by, "No need to transfer the money back, it’s not much."
