Reborn as the Sweetheart of a Paranoid Boss

Chapter 617: Mrs. Anna

Chapter 617: Mrs. Anna

As the vehicle entered the main city district of Isle of Cyrin, Selena Kensington saw the scenery along the streets.

Since it was the peak tourist season, many places on the Isle of Cyrin had set up tables, chairs, and sun umbrellas.

Some of the passing tourists were strolling, while others were sitting by the roadside, taking a short rest.

The shops lining the road were mostly decorated with colorful little lights.

Some stores also displayed promotional posters for the Corinthia Film Festival.

Although it was still daytime, the streets were already bustling with visitors attracted by its fame.

Selena Kensington looked for a while before she withdrew her gaze.

*

The car stopped at the entrance parking area of the Maria Hotel.

Maria Hotel had a typical Isle of Cyrin architectural style.

Its premises were large, but it wasn’t as if it had dozens of floors like skyscrapers.

On both sides of the hotel entrance were lawn flowerbeds.

Facing directly at the hotel’s front door was a fountain featuring a statue of the Virgin Mary.

As soon as their car parked outside the hotel entrance, a waiter from the hotel came out.

"Sister, let’s get off."

Samuel Dalton spoke gently.

Selena Kensington nodded and got out.

Hope Norwood stepped down from another car, quickly walking over to stand behind Selena Kensington.

Samuel Dalton glanced at Hope Norwood, his expression darkening.

Once everyone was out of the cars, Samuel Dalton led Selena Kensington inside.

Upon entering the hotel lobby, Selena Kensington saw a beautiful lady who had been sitting on a sofa in the rest area stand up and come toward them.

Selena Kensington clearly noticed that the beautiful lady was indeed walking toward them, feeling a bit perplexed.

She remembered that she didn’t know this beautiful woman.

But when she glanced at Samuel Dalton and saw his usual expression, she started to speculate.

Could this beautiful lady be Samuel Dalton’s biological mother, the one who managed the Colombo Family before Samuel returned?

Anna Colombo.

Mrs. Anna approached them, "Miss Kensington, we finally meet."

She said with a smile.

Selena Kensington, though surprised by Mrs. Anna’s words, still greeted her with a smile.

Fearing Selena Kensington might not know Mrs. Anna, Samuel Dalton quickly added, "She’s my mother, Anna."

Selena Kensington smiled and continued, "Mrs. Anna, I’ve heard so much about you."

"By coincidence, I’m one of the organizers of the Corinthia Film Festival. Miss Kensington, I’ve already arranged your hotel accommodation, so you can check in directly."

"Oh, and you haven’t had lunch yet, right? Perfect timing, I’ve booked a restaurant, let’s go together later."

"I happen to have quite a few things to discuss with you."

Mrs. Anna spoke several sentences in succession, appearing very hospitable.

Selena Kensington was almost starting to doubt the views about Mrs. Anna outside.

In foreign rumors, Anna Colombo was an existence akin to a femme fatale.

Though she was a woman, her methods and cunning overshadowed even men.

She was more ruthless and decisive.

When she began managing the Colombo Family, many underestimated her due to her gender.

But those people later found themselves wishing they weren’t alive, courtesy of Mrs. Anna.

Thus, in foreign lands, people would be wary and avoid Mrs. Anna.

Selena Kensington looked at the woman before her, feeling she didn’t fit with the rumors.

Still, Selena Kensington knew Mrs. Anna’s attitude towards her was solely because of Samuel Dalton.

"Then I gratefully accept the offer."

Selena Kensington replied with a smile, agreeing.

"Mother."

Samuel Dalton frowned slightly, this wasn’t what he had anticipated.

Samuel Dalton initially just wanted Mrs. Anna to help with the hotel arrangements.

He didn’t expect her to also dine with Selena Kensington.

But Mrs. Anna seemed not to grasp his subtle suggestion.

"You still need to meet the people from the Collin Family later, don’t linger here being a nuisance, hurry up and go."

Now that Selena Kensington agreed, Mrs. Anna started urging her son.

"..."

Samuel Dalton was silent for a moment after being spurned by his own mother.

Selena Kensington looked at Samuel Dalton in surprise, "Samuel, do you have important guests to host?"

"Then you should go, don’t worry about me here."

Mrs. Anna also chimed in, "Yes, I’ll take good care of Miss Kensington."

"..."

Samuel Dalton wanted to say, ’I’ll stay and have a meal before I leave,’ but Selena Kensington and Mrs. Anna’s words blocked him from speaking.

He could only nod helplessly, "Then take a good rest, sister, I’ll come get you in the evening."

Selena Kensington quickly nodded, "Yes, yes, if you’re really busy, I can go explore by myself."

After all, she wasn’t clear on Samuel Dalton’s schedule.

"No problem, I’m not busy."

Samuel Dalton lied with a calm face.

In truth, he was about to host the Collin Family, and might have a meeting with them in the evening.

But Samuel Dalton postponed the latter meeting without changing his expression.

If it weren’t for Mrs. Anna’s words, he might have considered postponing the hosting as well.

After speaking, he looked at Mrs. Anna, "Mother, remember to return early after dinner."

This sentence from Samuel Dalton held many implicit meanings.

Mrs. Anna blinked and smiled.

How could she not understand the hints within Samuel Dalton’s words?

He merely intended to warn her not to say too much.

But Mrs. Anna pretended not to understand, "Hurry up and go."

After that, Samuel Dalton was driven away by Mrs. Anna.

Hope Norwood followed the hotel waiter up to the hotel room, while Selena Kensington followed Mrs. Anna to the Maria Hotel’s restaurant.

"Miss Kensington, the hotel offers chefs from various countries, if you’re not used to Isle of Cyrin’s food, you can communicate with the waiter."

Mrs. Anna said.

Selena Kensington shook her head slightly, "No, I’m actually looking forward to tasting the local cuisine of Isle of Cyrin."

Mrs. Anna smiled, "Then you’re in for a treat."

Afterward, the two followed the waiter to the spot Mrs. Anna had reserved.

Once seated, the waiter brought up the menu for both to place their orders.

Selena Kensington wasn’t familiar with the local cuisine, and Mrs. Anna noticed this, so she recommended some dishes for her.

"Please wait for your meal, ladies."

Once the order was placed, the waiter left.

Mrs. Anna looked at Selena Kensington across from her.

Selena Kensington indeed appeared very beautiful, with typical Eastern features, yet her features were somewhat prominent and deep.

The kind of person who stands out even in a crowd.

Moreover, during pregnancy, the aura around her softened considerably.

Overall, she seemed elegant and gentle yet still maintained a strong presence.

"Miss Kensington."

Mrs. Anna smiled.

"I heard my son regards you as a sister, how about you acknowledge me as your godmother?"

She finished speaking, sighed gently, with a bit of melancholy in her eyes, "I’ve always wanted a daughter, one who’s pretty and sweet."

"If I had a daughter, I wouldn’t be angered to death by Alessio every day."
