Chapter 1401 - 1403: So Who Did You Marry?

"Oh, let them go first," Li Chuntao ordered, letting her car go back first as there wasn’t much further to go.

After her car had left, Li Chuntao turned to Xiaoxiao and asked, "Xiaoxiao, where are you going? Why are you carrying so many bags?"

Xiaoxiao indeed looked like she was going on a long trip, holding a child and carrying a bag filled with things for the child, who might need something anytime. "These are all the child’s things. We’re going to have dinner at my uncle’s house tonight, just passing by here."

"I see. Do you have time to chat?" Li Chuntao asked.

Xiaoxiao understood why Li Chuntao had come and what she wanted to ask. This matter had to be discussed sooner or later, so why not now since it was still early before dinner time, "Let’s go to your place first. It’s still early for dinner, and it’ll just be casual chat with family over there."

With that, Xiaoxiao followed Li Chuntao to her home in Yang Family village, carrying her child.

The house had obviously been renovated and looked quite good.

Back inside, Li Chuntao nervously asked, "Xiaoxiao, let me ask you, did you marry the wrong person? Does your husband treat you well? Does your mother-in-law treat you well? Do their family members treat you well?"

These rapid-fire questions stunned Xiaoxiao. She thought Li Chuntao was being cautious to keep her thoughts from being overheard, but she hadn’t expected Li Chuntao was worried about others hearing she married the wrong person.

How did Li Chuntao know she married the wrong person?

Seeing Xiaoxiao’s surprised expression, Li Chuntao continued, "Days ago, at Yuelai Restaurant, I saw Yang Ming, the person we saw back then, but beside him was a very pretty lady. I was so outraged I went to confront them and only then realized that person wasn’t actually named Yang Ming, but was the Young Master of Yuelai Restaurant. So who did you marry?"

Hearing Li Chuntao’s words, Xiaoxiao finally understood how she found out. She hadn’t expected her friend to go so far as to help her confront someone. It seemed the original Xiaoxiao really had a good friend, a person of character; just a pity her brother wasn’t as lucky.

"Chuntao, I didn’t marry the wrong person. The one I wanted to marry was Yang Ming, the one next to the Young Master of Yuelai Restaurant. You got it mixed up."

Xiaoxiao would never admit the original Xiaoxiao had a crush on Chu Lian. If everyone knew about it, that would be disastrous.

Even though she wasn’t the original Xiaoxiao, explaining it could be difficult, and since relations were still good now, she couldn’t let this cause any rift.

Upon hearing Xiaoxiao’s explanation, Li Chuntao was completely baffled. "Xiaoxiao, but you clearly said back then..."

Before Li Chuntao could finish her sentence, Xiaoxiao interrupted, "Chuntao, I really didn’t marry the wrong person. Think about it, if I had, I would have gone crying back to my parents long ago. How could I be living here this long?"

Seeing Xiaoxiao’s sincere demeanor, Li Chuntao started to doubt herself. Maybe she had made a huge mistake. She awkwardly laughed, "You really scared me. I thought I had messed up. Turns out it was just my mistake."
