Chapter 490: Fiona Grantham, This Time’s Female Lead
The voice dripping with ridicule made the elegant smile on Fiona Grantham’s face twist instantly as she entered, holding a man’s arm. She froze, staring at Bella Green in shock."What are you doing here?" she demanded sharply.
Bella Green propped her chin up, smiling at her, "Here to sign the contract."
Fiona Grantham was just about to say something when her gaze inadvertently swept over Leo Foster next to Bella Green, and her expression changed drastically, from disbelief to denial.
At the same time, her posture holding the man’s arm became extremely awkward; she never expected to encounter these two people whom she wanted to avoid.
Under Leo Foster’s gaze, Fiona Grantham felt her cheeks burn as if on fire, desperate to turn and leave.
"What’s this? You know them?" the man Fiona was holding onto glanced at Bella Green, suddenly smiling.
Fiona Grantham was filled with embarrassment and anger, but upon hearing the man’s words, her eyes shifted, and she laughed.
"This is Bella Green, whom I mentioned before, young but talented. How about it, isn’t she quite beautiful?"
Hearing this, Gregory laughed heartily, inspecting Bella Green, a curious light in his eyes, nodding.
"Yes, beautiful, very beautiful."
Under such unabashed scrutiny, the smile on Bella Green’s face faded slightly, her eyes cooling.
"It’s been a while, turns out Fiona, the actress, has been off dating. What a talented man and beautiful woman, they truly match well," Bella suddenly smiled and said.
This remark made Fiona Grantham’s face change colors, from embarrassment to venomous anger as she glared at Bella Green.
Disregarding the offense to Gregory, she withdrew her wrist immediately.
"Bella, stop spouting nonsense," she shouted furiously.
Bella Green blinked, looking innocent, then turned to Gregory.
"Oh, I just thought you matched so well, assumed you were a couple. Seems I misspoke, Fiona, don’t be angry, I know you have high standards, it was foolish of me," Bella spoke earnestly, her regretful look nearly inciting Fiona to tear her mouth apart.
However, this mention of high standards offended Gregory, causing his face to darken as he looked at Fiona Grantham.
Her earlier action of pulling her hand back had already dissatisfied him, and Bella’s reminder naturally made him think Fiona Grantham looked down on him?
Seeing the man’s expression change, Fiona Grantham’s hands trembled with anger, but she had to feign a smile in front of Bella and Leo Foster as she turned to Gregory.
"Mr. Crane, don’t listen to this little girl’s nonsense, indeed, we are not in that kind of relationship, are we?"
The words held deep meaning; one was to clarify the relationship before Bella and Leo Foster, the second hinted at Gregory.
Upon hearing this, the man’s expression didn’t improve much, he snorted coldly, and then took his seat at the main table.
Fiona Grantham glared at Bella Green, hurriedly following him.
She had barely secured a promise from this man; this role must only be hers.
At this critical moment, she couldn’t let things go astray.
Yet simultaneously, she was terrified in her heart, fearing Bella Green would tell Mason Bennett about this.
Instantly, the day she anticipated turned into a situation of intense distress.
In front of Bella and Leo Foster, her every move became unnatural.
Gregory sat down imposingly, then looked at Matthew Timberlake.
"Didn’t you call me to sign the contract? Fiona, the lead actress this time, hurry up and sign. I have other matters later."
The commanding tone changed everyone’s expression.
Side note: There’s more to come.
