Chapter 484: Vivian, do you like Bella Green?

Chapter 484: Vivian, do you like Bella Green?

Mason Bennett and Bella Green seemed to be in a warm and pleasant moment. On the other side, Vivian Thornecroft and Anna Green were not feeling so relaxed.

After such an incident, Anna Green naturally couldn’t stay at school.

In the car, Anna Green kept her head down, sobbing continuously, yet Vivian Thornecroft showed no intention of paying her any attention.

After crying for a while and seeing that Vivian wasn’t responding, Anna Green bit her lip hard, filled with resentment.

"Brother Vivian, are we just going to let ourselves be bullied like this today?"

That gentle voice failed to evoke any sympathy from the man, who instead looked at her with an unfamiliar cold gaze.

"Well, when you bullied Bella Green, did you think about her bullying you back?"

The chill in his voice made Anna Green avert her gaze.

"Brother Vivian, what do you mean by that? Clearly, she set me up and hit me, I..."

"Huh..."

Vivian Thornecroft gave a light laugh, interrupting her, then raised his hand to lift her chin, leaning in closer.

As Anna Green watched his face come closer, her heart raced, and her already swollen cheeks flushed even more.

Just as she anticipated a tender kiss from him, he suddenly turned his head, leaned in close to her ear, and whispered in a voice so light it sent chills through her.

"Is that face really from her hitting you?"

The offhand question made Anna Green’s pupils constrict rapidly as she watched Vivian Thornecroft withdraw and take a tissue to wipe his hands.

The gesture stung Anna Green’s eyes.

"Brother Vivian, what do you mean?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"You say she’s an adopted daughter and that she hit you, shouldn’t I be asking you what that means?"

Each word was so frightening that Anna Green nearly collapsed onto the seat. She never imagined Vivian Thornecroft would know all this, and worse, not believe her?

"I didn’t, I never said that. Brother Vivian, don’t you know me better than that, how could I do such things?"

Vivian Thornecroft chuckled softly at her words, the hostility on his face vanishing, returning to his usual gentle and refined self as he adjusted his glasses.

"Anna, as long as you behave, you will still be the future Mrs. Thornecroft, or perhaps... Mrs. Bennett, but don’t let me find out again that you’re causing trouble for Bella Green, understand?"

That voice, so deceptively gentle, was one Anna Green was all too familiar with, and in the past, hearing Vivian Thornecroft speak to her like that would fill her with happiness and sweetness.

Yet, in this moment, it filled her with cold dread. She looked at Vivian in disbelief, never imagining these words could come from his lips.

"Why!" she screamed hoarsely.

The day’s accumulation of events pushed her mental defenses to the brink of collapse.

Vivian Thornecroft’s presence had been like a beacon of light, giving her something to rely on, but his words now plunged Anna Green into a deep abyss, even harder to bear than the public humiliation in the cafeteria.

"Now she’s the Green Family’s highly regarded heiress, and I’ve become a mere adopted daughter, a spiteful woman. I was the one who was hurt, so why are you taking her side too?"

Anna Green had nearly lost all reason. She had nothing now but Vivian Thornecroft.

How could she endure Vivian too siding with Bella Green?

Suddenly, something seemed to occur to her, draining the color from her face. Her voice trembled with anxiety as she asked.

"Do you—do you like her?"
