Chapter 611: Chapter 610: Unspeakable Suffering
Throughout the whole morning, everyone followed Teacher Wu around to look at the scenery.
Then the classmates all realized it! There was no way they’d let you play with the entertainment facilities, nor would they take you to see the animals.
It wasn’t until each class teacher found a shady spot for the students to finish their lunch (self-brought snacks) that everyone finally got to stroll by the lake.
Unfortunately, the class teachers kept emphasizing ’for the students’ personal safety,’ so even standing too close to the lake was forbidden! Not to mention the little boats docked by the shore, no one was allowed to play with them!
After repeated disappointments, a large number of students completely lost interest in the spring outing. But they still had to linger in the park until three in the afternoon before they could follow the group back to the coach.
The boys were okay! After all, they were all full of energy, so they were still lively after getting on the bus.
But the girls couldn’t handle it.
They found it quite novel at the beginning, looking around at the flowers, trees, and pavilions. But they quickly felt bored, mentally drained, and physically tired, to the point that they could hardly take a step when returning to the coach!
So once they got on the bus, they slumped into their seats all twisted and skewed, just short of writing on their faces—I don’t want to move!
Seeing the state of the girls in the class, Han Mingyue suddenly turned to look at Zhen Yu seated on the inner side and asked with concern, "Are you tired?"
Zhen Yu, leaning on the back of the chair, felt her strength was okay, so she answered like this.
"It’s okay."
Seeing her say that, Han Mingyue didn’t ask anymore. He nodded slightly to show he heard, then took out his phone to check the time and quietly accompanied Zhen Yu as they waited for the bus to depart.
——
But less than a minute after the bus started, Han Mingyue suddenly felt a heaviness on his right shoulder!
Just as he was about to turn his head to look, he heard Zhen Yu whisper in his ear: "I feel a bit carsick! Let me lean on you for a while!"
"Oh! Got it." Han Ming admitted with a soft reply while slightly adjusting his posture to make it more comfortable for Zhen Yu to lean on.
The journey from the park to the school was not long, just about ten minutes.
But Zhen Yu had only been leaning on Han Mingyue for a couple of minutes when she suddenly sat up straight!
With the weight on his shoulder gone, Han Mingyue quickly turned his head to her and asked, "What’s wrong? You, ..."
But in the blink of an eye, after making a difficult swallowing gesture, Zhen Yu suddenly turned her head and collapsed onto his legs!
Her movement was so fast that Han Mingyue didn’t even have time to take back his worried gaze, and he just froze on the spot.
He held his breath for a short while, not daring to move, and looked out the window before he managed to suppress his heart’s nervous pounding and turn his head back down to look in front of him.
He reached out tentatively, but in the end, he still didn’t dare to touch her.
All he could do was ask with concern, "Are you feeling very unwell?"
"Mhm!" Zhen Yu struggled to explain through her discomfort, "It’s the feeling like you want to vomit but can’t! My stomach feels awful! Ugh..."
Right after she finished speaking, whether the driver Fu pressed the accelerator too hard or ran over something, the coach suddenly lurched violently! Almost throwing Zhen Yu across the seat!
Frightened, Han Mingyue quickly reached out to embrace her waist and held down her forehead!
"Ah!" Zhen Yu’s reaction wasn’t slow either, she grabbed onto Han Mingyue’s trouser leg...
——
Fearing that the bus might drive unsteadily again and bump Zhen Yu’s head, Han Mingyue was anxious deep down! Still, she wrapped her arms around and didn’t dare to let go!
It was Zhen Yu who, after grabbing on, immediately let go and decisively raised her right hand to support herself against the seatback in front.
Once the bus was stable again, Han Mingyue felt somewhat embarrassed! So she had no choice but to strike up a conversation to cheer Zhen Yu up: "... Just endure a few more minutes, we’ll be able to get off soon!"
Zhen Yu didn’t speak again, only rubbing her forehead against the palm of his hand twice, indicating that she heard him.
At this point, from across the aisle in the row of three seats on the outer side, suddenly a sentence came through!
"Han Mingyue, what’s this about the two of you?" The male student’s voice was deliberately lowered, making it clear there was no ill intent.
But upon hearing this, Han Mingyue didn’t look toward him and simply explained, "She’s feeling motion sick!"
"Oh..." The male student seemed to understand and teased with an ambiguous tone, "She must be really sick from the motion! The bus just started moving not too long ago!"
"Mm!" Han Mingyue wasn’t in the mood to talk, so he replied with a hum and that was it.
Seeing this, the male student didn’t continue to bother him but still occasionally turned his head to glance over.
---
Lying on Han Mingyue’s legs, Zhen Yu was tossing and turning restlessly, her head wagging back and forth, with acid reflux rising up in her stomach.
She even tried to prop herself up on her arms to see if sitting up made her feel better! But she only managed to sit up halfway before lying back down again.
Han Mingyue was distressed by her restlessness, so he tightened the arm wrapped around Zhen Yu’s waist and finally suggested indirectly, "Wouldn’t you feel a bit better if you stayed still?"
Zhen Yu didn’t think too much, assuming it was because she was too heavy and making Han Mingyue’s legs uncomfortable.
So she cooperated and said, "Mm! Okay!"
The rest of the journey was thus quietly tranquil, with only the occasional faint sound of Zhen Yu retching softly.
Han Mingyue actually wanted to keep a close eye on Zhen Yu, but he found it hard to stay focused!
Although they had been sitting together every day since school started, such ’close contact’ hadn’t occurred in quite some time... Blushing and feeling feverish, that was all normal.
Even every couple of minutes, he would find himself zoning out unwittingly.
His heart was torn between hoping the bus would reach its destination quickly so Zhen Yu could get off and a secretive reluctance to let go...
Finally, when the bus came to a halt on the sports field, Han Mingyue immediately helped Zhen Yu sit up! And stood up to shout to Teacher Wu, "Teacher! Zhen Yu feels very sick from motion sickness! Can we get off first?"
Teacher Wu had actually wanted to say a few words before opening the door and then dismissing everyone!
Hearing this, she promptly signaled the driver to open the door first and instructed the other students to follow the two off the bus in a line.
Zhen Yu, feeling weak, squatted not far from the bus, and after Teacher Wu briefly spoke, she let the group disperse.
Then she went over to Zhen Yu, bending down to ask, "Zhen Yu, how are you feeling?"
"Alright..." Zhen Yu, with her head hanging low, gave a faint shake, "I just need a bit of air and I’ll probably feel better."
"Teacher, you go ahead! I’ll help her back to the dormitory!" Han Mingyue reached Zhen Yu’s side a step slower than Teacher Wu, and said.
Teacher Wu silently looked at him, gave a nod without a word, and left.
