Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!

Chapter 74: Don’t Move

Chapter 74: Don’t Move

Elias Sinclair snorted coldly in his heart, clearly knowing she was lying. But given the situation, it didn’t matter much. However, Freya Caldwell’s mention of Preston Caldwell pulling out investments reminded him of something."Did you instigate the withdrawal?"hey’d never spread it.

Quinn frowned. How did this man know what she was thinking?

But now there was something more important. She didn’t have time to think much, asking again, "Why would you invest in my new drama?"

She wouldn’t narcissistically believe that Elias was compensating her because Freya was jealous.

"To make money." Elias responded indifferently, his gaze detached, as if he really decided to invest more in projects for profit.

"So many projects, why choose to invest in my drama right now?" Quinn was skeptical; since he said it was for profit, she followed his lead.

"Film and television industry is developing rapidly, why not invest?" Elias raised an eyebrow, actually to hide his guilty conscience.

But to Quinn, it felt like Elias was implying it was none of her business which projects he invested in.

"Is that so?"

At this moment, Quinn looked at Elias with a suspicious eye. Because she urgently wanted to know the answer, she unconsciously stood tip-toe closer to Elias.

Quinn’s unexpected action made Elias’s heart unexpectedly race; perhaps he was startled by her sudden move.

The air suddenly took on a peculiar atmosphere.

After a while, Quinn clearly saw herself reflected in Elias’s pupils, realizing she was somewhat overly excited. She distanced herself from Elias.

"No matter your purpose, investing in my drama now is bound to cause misunderstandings outside. Then, it’ll be harder for us to clarify."

Quinn expressed her concerns, unwilling to be misunderstood further.

"Shouldn’t you be thanking me?"

No matter how you cut it, Elias had helped her out; this was her way of expressing gratitude? Elias frowned displeased.

He kept staring at Quinn, realizing sometime ago she seemed to start handling matters herself.

Hearing this, Quinn was at a loss for words, feeling goosebumps as Elias kept staring at her. What he said might be blunt but not entirely unreasonable.

Though his approach would lead to a series of issues, and who knows what his intentions truly were, no matter the case he did assist her.

"Forget it, talking more is pointless." After speaking, Quinn turned and left.

Actually, she was afraid of not knowing how to properly thank Elias if what he said was true.

Outside the Sinclair Group, rain was dripping down. Unknowingly, it had started to rain, thick fog enveloping the ground. Quinn sighed at the gloomy weather.

This weather matched her mood; she was already feeling down, was it intentionally pouring salt on her wounds?

The rain gradually intensified, and Quinn couldn’t linger under the Sinclair Group building for long. She glanced at the sky and then at her car parked nearby, using her bag to cover her head as she ran.

"Ah!"

Not reaching her car yet, Quinn exclaimed, her body leaning backward.

The slippery road in the rain and her heels inevitably caused her to fall.

Elias, just out of the company, saw this scene, his heart jolted, and rushed over without thinking.

However, due to the distance, he was too late. Just as he was about to grab Quinn, she fell directly to the ground.

"Ow~"

Quinn winced in pain checking her foot, although only slightly swollen on the surface, internally she felt a tendon pulling pain, making her unable to move.

"Are you okay?" Elias crouched down to ask, his tone evidently worried.

Quinn looked up at the person in front, rain dripping down his hair and slowly sliding down his cheeks. Elias furrowed his brow as he looked at Quinn, making her heart beat stronger than ever.

People rushed by to avoid the rain, at this point silence was louder, as if the world had only the two of them left.
