Chapter 504: Underhanded Move (Part 4)

Jiang Xue, who was sitting bored and dozing off, suddenly heard someone call her name, and she couldn’t help but stand up and reply, "That’s me!"

"Are you Jiang Xue?" Upon hearing her voice, several police officers quickly approached her and surrounded her.

Seeing the actions of the officers, Jiang Xue’s gaze flickered, and she slightly narrowed her eyes. She thought, what has happened? Why do they seem so afraid that she might escape?

However, she had a clear conscience and was not afraid of trouble, so she smiled and asked, "Officer, may I help you with something?"

"Is this your phone?" One of the officers took out a transparent bag containing Jiang Xue’s phone.

Seeing her phone, Jiang Xue then realized and patted her body. Only then did she discover that her phone was lost at some point.

"That’s right!" Confirming it was her phone, Jiang Xue nodded. Now, she started to understand why these people were here.

Sure enough, the officer’s next words confirmed her suspicions.

"You are suspected of being involved in a murder case, please come with us."

As soon as these words were spoken, the entire venue erupted, and everyone’s gaze towards Jiang Xue changed instantly. Some were gloating, some disdainful, and some puzzled.

Only Grandma Shangguan and Shangguan Wenbin looked at her with concern and stepped forward to tell the officer, "Officer, surely there’s some mistake?"

"Yes, officer, how could my sister possibly commit murder?"

"Whether there’s a mistake or not, we will investigate. For now, we need to take her with us." The officer’s expression was impartial and stern, as if he was certain that Jiang Xue was the murderer.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Xue frowned, scanning the room, noticing Ming Lan’s smug look, instantly gaining some understanding.

She knew that this must be another one of Ming Lan’s tricks. Earlier, her attempt to embarrass Jiang Xue didn’t work, so now she resorted to a vicious move.

It was quite a scheme, framing her for murder, and Ming Lan even managed to get her phone. Ming Lan truly was an expert at this kind of thing.

Clearly, she had underestimated Ming Lan before.

"Jiang Xue, you’re finished!" Ming Lan mouthed to Jiang Xue; she was no longer afraid of Jiang Xue now. With the evidence solid, Jiang Xue couldn’t extricate herself easily.

Jiang Xue understood Ming Lan’s lip movement, her gaze turned slightly cold. However, she wasn’t worried—she hadn’t killed anyone and could prove her innocence, so she wasn’t intimidated by Ming Lan.

Refocusing her gaze, Jiang Xue looked at the officers and said, "Officers, I didn’t commit murder."

"Jiang Xue, words alone are not enough. We have physical evidence; just saying you didn’t do it doesn’t convince us."

"I have evidence, of course," Jiang Xue smiled and said.

"Oh? If you have evidence, then show it to us. Otherwise, you must come with us."

"Certainly!" Jiang Xue nodded and then said to Shangguan Wenbin, "Wenbin, may I borrow your phone for a moment?"

Shangguan Wenbin had no idea what Jiang Xue was planning, but he quickly handed over the phone. Others didn’t know what Jiang Xue intended either, so they kept watching her to see what she would do.

In front of everyone, Jiang Xue dialed a number and said one sentence, "Brother Liu, bring the evidence."

After that, Jiang Xue hung up the phone and said to the officers and the onlookers, "My evidence will be here soon."
