Chapter 476: Pursuing You (Part 4)
Later, considering the parents’ suggestions, Jiang Xue planned to set up an evening tutoring class, allowing children who had no one to help with their homework at home to stay behind for specialized tutoring.
Her class received strong support from the parents, and in less than a week, it was already full with thirty people signed up.
After enrolling the students, Jiang Xue started worrying about finding teachers. So after class, Jiang Xue specifically went to KY University to find Shangguan Wenbin.
Seeing Jiang Xue, Shangguan Wenbin was quite surprised and asked, "Sis, what brings you here?"
"What, can’t I come by?" Jiang Xue asked with a smile, then directly pulled Shangguan Wenbin away from the school.
The two found a tea bar, sat down, and only then did Jiang Xue reveal her purpose for finding Shangguan Wenbin.
She needed two teachers who could help the kids with their homework.
As soon as Shangguan Wenbin heard this, he immediately agreed. He didn’t have much to do anyway, so helping Jiang Xue after class seemed fine.
However, he alone wasn’t enough; another person was needed. Luckily, Shangguan Wenbin had a good friend, a child of a family close to the Shangguan Family, who was also a decent person. He planned to ask him if he was willing.
If his friend wasn’t willing, he’d find someone else later.
After discussing Jiang Xue’s matters, Shangguan Wenbin looked at her happily and said, "Sis, even if you hadn’t come to see me, I would’ve gone to find you."
"Oh? Do you have something to tell me?" Jiang Xue asked with a curious smile.
"Exactly." Shangguan Wenbin nodded, then asked with a mysterious look, "Sis, can you guess why I’m looking for you?"
"You want me to guess..." Jiang Xue dragged out her words, playing along a bit bored with Shangguan Wenbin. It’s not like she’d actually know, but seeing him act all mysterious, she might as well make a guess.
So, her eyes lit up, and she blinked, casually guessing, "Judging by your look, could it be that your grandma is coming?"
After the New Year, when Shangguan Wenbin returned, he had told her his grandma would come after a while. Now that the Lantern Festival had passed, she figured it was about time.
"Sis, you really are the best. You guessed it right." Shangguan Wenbin gave Jiang Xue a thumbs up, looking delighted.
Indeed, his grandma would be coming in a few days. This time, she was coming specifically to see Jiang Xue. Although it was already certain that Jiang Xue was the daughter of his little aunt, the elders in the family felt it was best to come and confirm personally.
If there was no mistake, they would officially recognize Jiang Xue. They hadn’t known about Jiang Xue’s existence before, which was a different matter, but now that they did, they had to acknowledge her.
"Really coming?" Jiang Xue was a bit taken aback, finding it hard to believe. Shangguan Wenbin had mentioned it before, but she thought it might have just been talk.
"Of course, why would I lie? Grandma has told me she’ll leave tomorrow morning and arrive in the afternoon. So tomorrow night, she’ll have dinner at your place, so make sure to buy more ingredients. Grandma likes Sichuan cuisine, the spicy kind." Shangguan Wenbin informed Jiang Xue of the older woman’s schedule and her preferences.
He was aiming to ensure Jiang Xue left a good impression on Grandma. After all, though his father was the Family Head in the Shangguan Family, the one who truly made the decisions was Grandma.
It would do no harm for Jiang Xue to win Grandma’s favor, so he eagerly shared all of Grandma’s likes with her.
Watching Shangguan Wenbin continuously talk about Grandma’s preferences, Jiang Xue couldn’t bring herself to interrupt. She simply watched him until he finished and then handed over the glass of water beside him.
