Chapter 1300: Running Into Each Other
Chapter 1300: Running Into Each Other
Chapter 1300: Chapter 1300: Running Into Each Other After some time apart, she looked just like she imagined.
Just as beautiful.
Tang Jun was captivated, greedily looking at Yuan Yu, as if taking a few more glances could add to that sense of happiness and make the memory more memorable.
Yuan Yu and Zhu Liniang were chatting about something, both laughing happily, their sweet smiles seemingly contagious, making others feel delighted and at ease.
It wasn’t until they finished chatting that Tang Jun got out of the car.
When Yuan Yu saw Tang Jun, she was momentarily surprised, having not expected to run into Tang Jun in Jin City.
She came to Jin City on a whim, wanting to check on Zhou Cheng’s recovery, which is why Yuan Yu had such a sudden idea to come to Jin City.
"You..."
Yuan Yu looked at Tang Jun with a strange expression, secretly wondering if Tang Jun was following her.
Impossible, Tang Jun shouldn’t do such a thing.
"I came to see Liniang and Xiao Cheng. Aren’t you supposed to be preparing for the postgraduate exams?" Tang Jun’s words indicated that he wasn’t following Yuan Yu here. He said, "Should I go back and come later?"
Yuan Yu: "..."
Does she look like a villain?
"Never mind, we’re not enemies. It’s not like you can’t come if I did," Yuan Yu said with a hint of annoyance.
Beside them, Zhu Liniang smoothed things over, saying, "The more, the merrier. I’ll cook you a delicious meal at noon. How does that sound?"
"Then I’ll trouble you, Sister Li." Yuan Yu didn’t refuse, as apart from Zhu Liniang, she didn’t know anyone in Jin City.
Instead of dining out alone, she might as well eat with Zhu Liniang and Xiao Cheng.
According to Zhu Liniang, having more people makes it livelier.
"Xiao Jun, you won’t refuse, will you?" Zhu Liniang smiled warmly at Tang Jun and, without waiting for a response, took Yuan Yu to the market to buy groceries.
Jin City, being by the sea, never lacks seafood. Various shrimps and shellfish look enticing, and the mud crabs and mantis shrimps are especially delicious.
After a trip to the seafood market, they bought a bunch of seafood, planning to make a seafood feast for lunch.
Growing up in Jin City, Zhu Liniang is familiar with seafood, having developed great culinary skills over the years.
A table full of seafood, all prepared to perfection.
There were Yuan Yu’s favorites: mantis shrimps, mud crabs, oysters, and clams, all of which made Yuan Yu unable to take her eyes off them. She looked at Zhu Liniang in admiration and said, "Sister Li, your cooking is incredible! It looks so delicious."
"Practice makes perfect; you’ll learn after doing it a few more times," Zhu Liniang replied with a smile, thinking how well-suited Yuan Yu and Tang Jun appeared to be.
Before Tang Jun arrived, Yuan Yu had already explained her purpose for visiting: to check on Zhou Cheng’s recovery. Even though Zhou Cheng was doing well in Jing City, he still needed proper care later on.
Yuan Yu’s kindness in coming to check on Zhou Cheng touched Zhu Liniang. Both coincidentally chose today to meet, isn’t that a sign of great fate?
While cooking, Yuan Yu, although not skilled, still earnestly learned from Zhu Liniang.
"Go ahead and taste it."
Zhu Liniang cheerfully invited everyone to sit and try the meal. Zhou Cheng had recovered well, and since being home from the hospital, regained his previous weight. Seeing Tang Jun and Yuan Yu, Zhou Yu appeared very happy, calling Tang Jun ’uncle’ and Yuan Yu ’aunt’ continuously.
"Delicious."
Yuan Yu praised the food.
Tang Jun quietly sat aside, peeling mud crabs and shrimp, most of which ended up in Yuan Yu’s stomach. Initially, Tang Jun was peeling for Zhou Cheng too, but since Zhou Cheng’s mom was doing it for him, Tang Jun focused on peeling for Yuan Yu.
Only after Yuan Yu was full did Tang Jun start eating.
Yuan Yu realized belatedly that she was already full, as Tang Jun had a pile of shells by his bowl, but didn’t seem to have eaten much.
Yuan Yu felt a bit embarrassed. She cleared her throat and started peeling a mantis shrimp for Tang Jun. With a bright smile, she handed it over, saying, "Thank you for peeling shrimp for me."
"You’re welcome."
Tang Jun’s gaze fell on the peeled mantis shrimp in her hand, and he lowered his head to bite it, brushing his lips against her hand. The touched area felt like it was scalded, warm and tingling.
"What’s wrong? Didn’t you say you’d peel it for me to eat?"
Tang Jun looked serious, making Yuan Yu feel like she was overthinking.
She cleared her throat and said, "No, nothing."
"Can you peel a bit more for me?"
"This seafood is good, but there’s too little meat. One each is not enough for me," Tang Jun’s request seemed natural, no warmth or flirtation involved, so how could Yuan Yu disagree? She replied, "Sure, since you peeled for me, now I’ll help you, but I can’t peel crabs, only shrimp."
Yuan Yu made it clear she was good at peeling shrimp, but not crabs.
"Alright."
Tang Jun nodded, pleased to have Yuan Yu help peel shrimp for him.
"Sister Li, how’s the business at the store recently?"
Tang Jun deliberately started small talk, occasionally asking how Yuan Yu was preparing for her exams. Everyone joked and laughed together, creating a lively atmosphere.
Zhu Liniang knew Tang Jun was intentionally trying to spend more time with Yuan Yu. Their mutual shrimp-peeling gestures made for such a beautiful scene, and Zhu Liniang was happy to support them.
"I’m so full."
Yuan Yu was especially full, her stomach round and bloated. She could have left the table much earlier, but since Tang Jun wasn’t finished, she kept peeling and, in doing so, kept eating, ending up overstuffed again.
With the three of them dividing tasks, Yuan Yu gathered the dishes into the kitchen, Zhu Liniang washed them, and Tang Jun cleaned up the house.
Soon, what was once a messy house was restored to cleanliness and tidiness.
Zhu Liniang enthusiastically offered a place to stay, but Tang Jun silently looked at Yuan Yu.
Yuan Yu insisted on returning, as she had only come to check on Zhou Cheng. Now that Zhou Cheng was doing well, she felt relieved.
"Sister Li, it just happens that I have something to handle at home, so I won’t stay this time. I’ll visit again soon and disturb you for a few days." Tang Jun promptly replied.
Zhu Liniang did not insist but went inside to fetch a bag, saying, "This is for godfather and godmother. I made these shoes myself. They’re not worth much, but they’re comfortable to wear, and warm in winter."
