Chapter 29: Chapter 29 The Oppressive Feeling from the Fourth BrotherShe looked up, her face a mess, with blood running from her nose.

Si Yuhuan, seeing the bruise on her forehead, furrowed his brows slightly and quickly handed her a tissue. "Are you okay?"

He hadn’t anticipated such an accident. He thought he would just scare her a bit, to assert his dominance so that she wouldn’t dare stray again. He hadn’t expected to actually hurt her.

"You rotten bastard, you just know how to bully me! Would you do this if it was Jiang Qimeng?" After being reborn, Jian Xi cried out of grievance for the first time.

Panic flashed across Si Yuhuan’s face. "Don’t cry! I’ll take you to the hospital."

On the way, Jian Xi kept on complaining, and he, unusually, didn’t retort.

Upon reaching the hospital, he immediately ordered, "Get your attending physician and the dean here quickly."

Faces from the financial news had suddenly appeared in their hospital, setting the nurses abuzz. Soon, a group of people came rustling out into the hallway.

Jian Xi, head tilted back, was supported by Si Yuhuan as they went to the emergency room.

The man leading them, wearing gold-rimmed glasses and tall in stature, exuded a scholarly and dignified air despite his white lab coat. He hurried through the door and, seeing Jian Xi sitting on the bed, rushed over with concern. "Little sister, let your fourth brother take a look."

He had just been assigned to provide guidance here and was about to go home to see his parents when he heard from the nurses that Jian Xi was injured. He immediately ran over.

Jian Xi, seeing her fourth brother appear out of nowhere, widened her eyes. Surprise, joy, and grievance welled up, causing her eyes to redden instantly.

"Fourth brother..." Her voice was thick with emotion, looking pitiable, which made Jian Sirun’s heart ache.

The usually reticent Jian Sirun pushed past Si Yuhuan and quickly examined her.

He soon concluded, "There might be a possibility of a concussion. I’m going to have an assistant take you for a CT and MRI."

"That serious?" Si Yuhuan showed a rare hint of guilt.

His sister would, of course, receive the most thorough examination. Even a minor issue had to be analyzed extensively!

Jian Sirun asked with annoyance, "What happened? Did you hit her?"

"No!"

"No!"

Si Yuhuan and Jian Xi exclaimed in unison.

Jian Sirun looked at them both.

Jian Xi denied it because she didn’t want her brother to conflict with Si Yuhuan over this; after all, it was a conflict between the two of them and there was no need to drag the family into it.

As for Si Yuhuan, it was sheer shamelessness.

His gaze fell on Jian Xi.

Jian Xi bit her lip, cursing him a hundred times in her heart as vile and despicable, but she outwardly helped to explain, "It was just an accident while driving; I accidentally bumped it a little bit."

Jian Sirun expressed skepticism.

But his sister had always been lovestruck, and she invariably defended Si Yuhuan beyond imagination; he had grown accustomed to it.

Si Yuhuan, quite shamelessly, nodded along with Jian Xi’s words. "It’s all my fault!"

What a thing to say! It was indeed his fault! As if he was the one being wronged.

If she hadn’t been concerned about causing a scene in front of her brother, Jian Xi truly wanted to point at his nose and curse: Scumbag!

The nurse wheeled Jian Xi off for examinations.

Jian Sirun and Si Yuhuan were left in the ward.

"Jian Xi wants to divorce you?" Jian Sirun rarely initiated conversation.

Si Yuhuan hadn’t expected that she had already informed her family about the matter.

"No!" Si Yuhuan didn’t want their affairs to become public knowledge.

In truth, he was also struggling with it internally.

Jian Sirun, always quiet and focused on his re

Jian Xi guzzled the juice.

This must be the first time in her life she had ever enjoyed Si Yuhuan’s care.

Jian Xi, why are you getting so worked up over this? He’s just trying to compensate because he knows he did wrong. Besides, what’s so difficult about him just giving orders? If Jiang Qimeng were the one lying in this hospital bed, he would certainly do everything personally.

Having thought that, any sense of being touched vanished completely.

Her cell phone rang incessantly.

Wan Yu was making frantic video calls.

Jian Xi was about to answer when her phone died, the screen going black.

She glanced at the cell phone on the bedside table, which was Si Yuhuan’s personal phone—the very one he had reluctantly turned off earlier.

Given Wan Yu’s impetuous nature, he probably knew about her hospitalization. If she didn’t call back immediately, there could be serious trouble.

After some internal deliberation, Jian Xi turned on Si Yuhuan’s cell phone.

He never bothered to set a password. One could use it directly upon turning it on.

Jian Xi swore she hadn’t intentionally pried into Si Yuhuan’s private messages. It was just that Jiang Qimeng was relentless in sending messages and making calls.

At the bottom of the screen were dozens of missed calls and countless unread messages.
