Chapter 515: His Dignity
Chapter 515: His Dignity
"Sophie, I’m just concerned about you." Charles Seymour looked innocently at Sophie Wilson, with a hint of pitifulness in his eyes, as if Sophie had bullied him. However, it seemed that he was indeed "bullied" by Sophie just a moment ago.
"If you could wipe off that smug smile from your lips, it might be a bit more believable." Sophie huffed, raised her hand, and unceremoniously commanded, "Massage."
She was exhausted.
"Alright." Charles happily sat by the bed and massaged her hand.
Watching Charles busily bent over, Sophie’s eyes reflected a happy smile.
The atmosphere between the two was incredibly warm, however, in some households, the atmosphere was as cold as the weather outside at that moment.
James Reed stood in the chaotic study, stealthily glanced at Charlotte Reed.
Charlotte nodded slightly and stepped forward, "Ethan, don’t be angry. It’s okay to smash things, but what if you hurt yourself?"
"If I’m hurt, I’m hurt, so what?" Ethan Seymour yelled angrily, "My face...," he said and raised his hand, gritting his teeth and slapped his face fiercely, "Today this old face of mine was completely swollen from slaps, the sound of slaps was so loud in front of so many people."
"Shameful! Shameful!" Ethan shouted, each word louder and more sorrowful.
James hurried over to stop Ethan’s hand and advised, "Dad, don’t hurt yourself."
"I was bragging to others that the old man from my house went to the ninth floor for a banquet. What was I showing off for? The ninth floor was for that little bastard’s engagement!" Ethan remembered the situation and was so angry he wanted to vomit blood.
What should have been an enviable and show-stopping event turned into his greatest humiliation!
Anyone who heard could tell he was lying about getting an invitation to the ninth floor!
If he really had an invitation to the ninth floor, how could he not know it was that little bastard’s engagement party?
His dignity, because of that little bastard, was ripped off in public, stomped on the ground, and couldn’t be picked up.
"Dad, you really can’t be blamed for this." James seemed to struggle, but ultimately made a painful decision to say, "Dad, in this matter, Grandma and Grandpa didn’t act properly."
James seemed very unaccustomed to speaking ill of seniors, his voice became somewhat small, "If Grandma and Grandpa didn’t want to attend my engagement banquet, they could have just refused you directly, why cause such a misunderstanding?"
"It’s really a bit excessive to make you unable to step down in public." James murmured discontentedly.
"James, they’re your grandparents, how can you say that?" Charlotte immediately reprimanded, "It’s too disrespectful, how did I teach you usually?"
"Mom, I’m sorry." James immediately apologized obediently.
The mother and son coordinated perfectly.
But Ethan just waved his hand and snorted, "Where did James go wrong? They did it on purpose!"
"Ethan, after all, they are our parents." Charlotte said considerately.
"What parents?" Ethan roared, "Would parents set up their son, daughter-in-law, and grandson like this?"
"It’s too much!" Ethan was really getting more irritated the more he thought about it.
He never expected that his own parents would deliberately make him misunderstand, and after he returned, smugly told James they picked the wedding date for him.
