Chapter 512: A Pair
Chapter 512: A Pair
Driver: Hehe... Do you really believe what you just said, sir?"Hmm, I know." Sophie Wilson nodded earnestly, "My dear Mr. Seymour is just so gentle and adorable."
Driver: Is this selective blindness?
Luckily, for the rest of the journey, Sophie Wilson and Charles Seymour didn’t say anything else that might shock the driver’s heart, finally arriving home safe and sound.
After getting home, Sophie Wilson carefully took off her high heels, slipped into slippers, and sighed contentedly, "Home is always the most comfortable place."
"Tired?" Charles Seymour asked.
He frowned slightly as he looked at the high heels Sophie had just taken off. He had them custom-made to be easy on the feet, so why was Sophie still so tired after wearing them?
"Yeah, a little." Sophie nodded and playfully jumped onto Charles Seymour’s back, "Mr. Seymour, carry me upstairs."
It was only then that Charles realized what she meant by being tired—it was just some affectionate whining.
But Charles still looked down to check if the fair feet wrapped around him had any marks. After carefully inspecting and making sure there were no red marks from tightness, he felt relieved and carried Sophie upstairs.
"Sophie, we got engaged today," Charles said as he ascended the stairs.
"I know!" Sophie smiled blissfully as she lay on Charles Seymour’s back, delighting in raising her hand to look at the ring on her finger, as well as Charles’s. Yup, they were a pair.
"So I’m your fiancé now, understand?" Charles asked.
"I understand," Sophie nodded, smiling as she spoke.
Though Sophie agreed readily, she didn’t notice that Charles, who was carrying her, swallowed slightly, his voice tinged with a slight rasp, "As long as you get it."
"You think I’m dumb?" Sophie said amusingly.
Charles Seymour carried Sophie straight to her room, then set her down and casually tugged at the hem of her dress, asking curiously, "Is it heavy?"
"Not really." Sophie chuckled lightly, lifted her skirt, and twirled around in place twice, "It looks nice. As women, a little endurance for beauty is something we have."
"Look, for the sake of looking good, we can pierce our ears to wear earrings. We can also wear uncomfortable high heels with a bright smile throughout an entire banquet." Sophie stepped into her slippers, feeling so comfortable that she just wanted to sigh.
Honestly, no matter how pretty the high heels, they can’t beat the comfort of slippers.
No matter how glamorous you dress up outside, it’s for others to see. At home, you should definitely go for what feels comfortable.
Few people wear high heels and gowns at home.
"I want to go wash up." Sophie Wilson didn’t hold back at all with Charles Seymour. She had put on some makeup today, and if she didn’t remove it properly, her face would feel uncomfortable, and it wouldn’t be good for her skin.
"Alright," Charles responded.
Sophie, busy removing her makeup, didn’t notice any change in someone’s voice.
To her, their relationship had already been like this for a long time.
Whether they got engaged or not, she truly didn’t care much about it.
It was certain they would be together, and such formalities didn’t really matter to her.
Of course, going through the process made their engagement official and legitimate, and she was quite happy about that.
It would prevent some ill-intentioned people from trying to disrupt their relationship in the future.
