Chapter 425 Mother’s Worries

Chapter 425 Mother’s Worries

"Charles’ card?" Clarissa exclaimed in surprise. She hadn’t expected that even before they were married, Charles Seymour had already given Sophie Wilson a card. His feelings for Sophie were undoubtedly genuine.

"It’s good that Charles cares about you so much, but when you’re a couple, you have to be considerate of each other." Clarissa said earnestly, "You’re a good kid, and he works hard for his money. It’s best to buy things within your means."

Although Sophie had acknowledged them, she had been separated from them for over twenty years, so there was always a bit of cautious unease when interacting with Clarissa.

Sophie looked at Clarissa with a smile, "Mom, are you worried that I spend too much money, and Charles Seymour might resent me for not being considerate, then dump me?"

"Who’s afraid he’ll dump you?" Clarissa had just been giving Sophie advice, but as soon as she heard the possibility of Charles resenting and dumping her daughter, her maternal instincts kicked in, "If he breaks up with you, Dad and I will support you!"

"Don’t worry, Dad and I have savings over the years, supporting you is absolutely no problem!"

No one can bully her daughter. Her Sophie is so wonderful, what right does Charles Seymour have to break up with her?

If he breaks up with Sophie, then it’s Charles Seymour’s loss; he has eyes but fails to see!

Watching Clarissa’s indignant expression, Sophie couldn’t help but burst into laughter. Being protected by her mother like this felt really nice.

"Mom, just relax. Charles Seymour wouldn’t dare break up with me." Sophie chuckled. If he broke up with her, Charles would turn into a pauper.

Of course, considering his abilities, she had no doubt about his ability to quickly make a comeback.

She was with him not for money or benefits, but because of their intertwined destinies that they couldn’t break away from.

Although Clarissa didn’t understand why Sophie was so confident, anything Sophie said couldn’t be wrong.

Seeing Clarissa’s gentle way of advising her, Sophie smiled and took Clarissa’s hand saying, "Mom, I know you’re looking out for me. You don’t have to be so cautious; just say whatever you think."

Being so cautious even when advising her on getting along with Charles, there was a bit of discomfort.

Clarissa nodded with a smile. For this lost-and-found daughter, she couldn’t help but be extra careful, fearing that the hard-won mother-daughter reunion might turn distant over some matters.

"Then I’ll be frank," Clarissa nodded, taking Sophie’s hand as they walked, "Charles is a good man. At a young age, he started a company on his own without relying on his family and built his own career."

"You and him are planning for a lifetime together. His company might not be too large right now. And then there’s the situation with the Seymour Family, where James Reed might very likely become the head of the Seymour Family in the future."

"Mom’s worried that James Reed might target Charles in the future. If necessary, moving your company to another province might be better." Clarissa planned everything carefully for Sophie.

To them, the Seymour Family was a mighty giant.

The Wilson Clan wasn’t a match for the Seymour Family in the past. Now, they’ve already drawn a line with the Wilson Clan. If the Seymour Family were to act against them, based on just Charles and Sophie’s company, they could only avoid confrontation.

"Mm." Sophie nodded, "I think Charles has long had plans for this."

"That’s good," Clarissa said with a smile.

"Hey, this tie is beautiful," Sophie’s eyes lit up as she let go of Clarissa’s arm and quickly ran over.
