Chapter 410: Break
Chapter 410: Break
"Did Emerie Wilson really send our child away like that? What was she trying to do?" Mason Wilson’s gaze was as sharp as a sword, piercing into Emerie, who shrank back in fear, hiding in Benjamin Walton’s arms."I even gave money to her adoptive father," Emerie defended herself with grievance.
Mason let out a sudden snort: "You’re truly too generous, aren’t you?"
The heavy sarcasm made Emerie pout in discontent, but she dared not retort, for she felt her brother was quite frightening at that moment.
"Call the police? We can’t call the police!" Old Mrs. Wilson would never stand by and watch something happen to her precious daughter.
"Mason, do you really have to make things so embarrassing?" Old Mr. Wilson questioned in displeasure.
Mason found everything before him so ridiculous: "Dad, am I the one causing this? Shouldn’t I demand an explanation for my wife and daughter?"
"Alright, didn’t I say that Sophie Wilson could be your goddaughter and return to the Wilson Clan?" Old Mr. Wilson thought his son was truly inflexible, "How have you been managing the company all these years?"
Can’t you even discern the basic pros and cons?
Mason exhaled heavily, speaking in a calm tone: "Since the Wilson Clan cannot accommodate Sophie, then there’s no reason for me to stay here either."
"Mason!" Old Mrs. Wilson exclaimed in shock. She was concerned for her daughter but didn’t want to lose her son either.
"Mason, do you know what you’re saying?" Old Mr. Wilson roared, "How did I raise you? What have you learned over the years?"
"Dad, even a businessman must first be a human!" Mason said coldly, "If I can’t even protect my own daughter, then I don’t deserve to be human."
"Fine, fine, fine..." Old Mr. Wilson repeated the word ’fine’ several times, each utterance heavier than the last, "What a good son I’ve raised!"
What did Mason mean?
Was he saying Old Mr. Wilson wasn’t worthy of being a person?
"Leave! Once you walk out, don’t ever come back; I don’t have a son like you!" Old Mr. Wilson angrily pointed towards the door.
Without hesitation, Mason turned around, pulling Clarissa Taylor with him as he walked out.
"Mason, wait a moment." Jerry Taylor called out to Mason.
Old Mr. Wilson snorted disdainfully in his heart; wasn’t the Taylor Family supposed to be a prestigious scholarly family?
Seeing Mason about to be kicked out, Jerry Taylor still couldn’t bear to let his sister leave her life of privilege.
However, Jerry’s decision was the right one.
Without the Wilson Clan, what was Mason?
Old Mr. Wilson still preferred Jerry’s opportunistic nature.
Unfortunately for Old Mr. Wilson, Jerry disappointingly said, "I’ll join you both in leaving."
"Jerry, I..." Chaya Davis took a few steps forward, reaching out to grasp Jerry.
Jerry’s gaze shifted across her face, and he said, "Let’s go to the civil affairs bureau tomorrow for a divorce."
"Jerry, how can you be so heartless?" Chaya covered her mouth in pain, her wide eyes filled with disbelief at Jerry’s coldness.
Jerry merely smiled slightly, unwilling to engage in verbal disputes with Chaya, quickly leaving with his sister and brother-in-law.
"Emerie, Emerie, you’ve ruined me!" Chaya turned around, crying out to Emerie, "Why did you swap my child back then, and now slander me?"
Emerie stared at Chaya in disbelief: "You’re the one who told me to do it..."
