Chapter 408: I Knew it Long Ago

Chapter 408: I Knew it Long Ago

The two documents shocked everyone in the room. The first to make a move was Jerry Taylor. He came over, picked up the document, and studied it closely. After reading it, he sorted through the entire sequence of events in his mind before calmly asking Mason Wilson, "Mason, did you know about this long ago?"

A paternity test is not something done suddenly, and Clarissa’s words of warning must have come from somewhere.

"Yes." Mason Wilson nodded, "After I started to have doubts, I investigated the situation at the hospital from back then. I found the doctor who ’assisted’ Emerie Wilson at the time."

"Should I call him here so we can confront him face to face?" Mason Wilson’s voice was cold enough to make some people tremble inside.

Jerry Taylor looked at Ophelia Wilson and then at Chaya Davis, suddenly laughing.

At the moment he laughed, Chaya Davis had a bad feeling and, sure enough, Jerry Taylor confirmed her suspicion in the next second: "Chaya Davis, we are getting a divorce."

"Why?" Chaya Davis blurted out without thinking, her raised voice completely shattering her usual gentle image. As soon as the words left her mouth, she realized it was inappropriate, and quickly tried to win sympathy, saying softly, "Jerry, don’t listen to Emerie’s nonsense. I really didn’t know about this."

"I truly believed our child was gone; how was I to know Emerie swapped them?"

Chaya Davis’s words made Emerie Wilson anxious: "Chaya Davis, you heartless person! If you hadn’t begged me, why would I swap children and spend my own money? Do you know how much that money was? It wasn’t a small amount!"

As soon as Emerie Wilson finished speaking, a cup flew toward her. Luckily, Benjamin Walton reacted quickly and pulled her aside, preventing it from hitting her head, though it still struck her arm.

"Brother, what are you doing?" Emerie Wilson asked indignantly, rubbing her sore arm.

"Chaya Davis begged you, so you swapped my child?" Mason Wilson was angered into laughter, a laugh so cold that it scared Emerie Wilson, prompting her to hide in Benjamin Walton’s embrace, "Brother, don’t laugh like that; it’s frightening."

"Brother, I’m sorry." Mason Wilson turned to Jerry Taylor and said, "When we got this news, we weren’t sure, and finding the witness took a lot of time, so we only revealed it today. Not informing you sooner was out of worry..."

"Worry that I would continue to be deceived by Chaya Davis." Jerry Taylor understood Mason Wilson’s concerns, nodding calmly, "This has nothing to do with you, there’s no need to apologize."

"I think the paternity test on my side doesn’t need to be done. My daughter died twenty-six years ago." Jerry Taylor locked eyes with the evasive gaze of Ophelia Wilson and said in a deep voice, "Ophelia Wilson is not my daughter."

Jerry Taylor’s words made Ophelia Wilson look at him in shock.

She didn’t want to acknowledge her biological parents because she didn’t want to lose her status as the Wilson Clan’s daughter.

But she never expected Jerry Taylor would refuse to recognize her!

The shock in Ophelia Wilson’s eyes was not missed by Jerry Taylor. He smiled, "Ophelia, you must have known about your identity long ago."

Jerry Taylor’s words caused Old Mrs. Wilson and Old Mrs. Wilson to look over in surprise.

Ophelia Wilson’s lips moved, as if wanting to say something, but ultimately she remained silent.
