Chapter 393 Admitted
"Alright, if you’re not busy, just leave." Old Mrs. Seymour went over and patted her husband’s back, thinking there was no need to be angry with this ignorant kid.Seeing his father so upset, Ethan didn’t dare say much. At least he was happy about one thing during this visit.
The old man picked a good day for James, which meant he still cared for this grandson.
"Mom and Dad, I’ll be leaving now." Ethan left contentedly. As for Charles’ matter, it’s better not to discuss it. They’ve argued about it for years.
"Get out, get out!" Old Mr. Seymour cursed angrily.
Ethan was used to this reaction from Old Mr. Seymour, shrugged his shoulders, and left without saying anything.
When he got home, it was just in time for dinner.
Charlotte hurriedly greeted him as soon as he returned: "Have you eaten?"
"Not yet." Ethan replied.
James’ heart skipped a beat, but he still smiled understandingly: "Dad, don’t be mad. Grandpa never really liked me. We can handle my engagement matter privately; there’s no need to bother Grandma and Grandpa."
Those two old geezers have never acknowledged him as part of the Seymour Family.
But, so what?
Sooner or later, both of them will have to live under his shadow, and even the favored Charles will be forced to kneel like a dog before him, begging for mercy!
Just wait!
Once the cooperation with Peace Corporation is signed before the New Year, then... Seymour Corporation will be ruled by him.
"You’re mistaken this time." Ethan laughed heartily, "Your grandparents have already picked an engagement date for you."
James was stunned, feeling something wasn’t quite right. Would those two old geezers really be so kind?
"Look, this date is quite fitting for an engagement, before the end of the year. The timing is a bit rushed, but having your engagement banquet with Ophelia before the New Year will settle things." Ethan cheerfully reported the date.
James and Charlotte exchanged a glance, genuinely surprised by the outcome.
"Dad, are you serious? Grandpa and Grandma chose a date for me? Will they come to my engagement?" Despite his doubts, James outwardly showed the joy of a child finally finding a home after years away.
James’ joy was mixed with disbelief and nerves, which pained Ethan to see.
"Don’t worry, your grandparents have accepted you." Ethan blurted out without thinking.
As for Old Mr. and Mrs. Seymour not mentioning attending James’ engagement banquet, Ethan simply ignored it.
In his view, since the engagement date was chosen, how could they not come?
"This is wonderful." Charlotte’s eyes were red with excitement, "The elders finally acknowledge James."
"James is my son, how could they not acknowledge him?" Ethan chuckled, "Not only do they acknowledge James, but naturally you as well. Otherwise, why would they attend James’ engagement banquet?"
Charlotte nodded repeatedly, too happy for words.
"It’s been tough for you two all these years." Ethan said apologetically.
"Dad, we’re family, why talk about hardships?" James’ considerate and understanding words made Ethan feel comfortable as he agreed, "Exactly, we’re family. Let’s eat!"
