Chapter 507 - 424: You’re Quite Romantic
Chapter 507 - 424: You’re Quite Romantic
Long Wu started the car with a "whoosh," speeding off. Leng Mochen shook his head with a laugh; this guy really had quite the temper!
He turned to go inside but wondered to himself if Li Si and Buding were already asleep. The thought of going back to face the crowd felt utterly unappealing.
He pulled out his phone to check the time, and in the end, couldn’t resist giving her a call.
Li Si and Bai Shasha had just been about to drift off when her phone rang. "You’re not asleep?"
"How could I sleep when I’m thinking of you?" His voice, rich and deep, came through the receiver, and in the quiet of the night, Li Si found it incredibly soothing.
"I miss you too!" Li Si replied, only to earn a dramatic eye roll from Bai Shasha. "Oh my God, how cheesy!" Shasha mumbled under her breath, teasingly rubbing her arm as if she’d gotten goosebumps.
One sharp glare from Li Si, and Shasha went quiet.
"Is Buding asleep? Should I come back to see you?" He genuinely wanted to return and check on her.
Li Si glanced at the dark night outside the window. "It’s the night before the wedding; it’s not proper for us to see each other. Besides, it’s so late! Be good, get some rest. We’ll see each other tomorrow!"
"Alright, then."
The two poured their hearts out over the phone for a while longer before reluctantly hanging up.
Bai Shasha couldn’t help but comment from the side, "You two are practically an old married couple already, and yet you’re still this lovey-dovey! I can’t take it!"
This earned her a pillow to the face, courtesy of Li Si.
The next morning, Li Si was sound asleep when a knock on the door startled her awake. She instinctively sat up and glanced toward the door. Mrs. Bai’s muffled voice came through the heavy wooden panels, "Wake up already! You two are still sleeping? Do you know what time it is? The makeup artist is already here!"
From beside her, Bai Shasha groaned and pulled the summer quilt over her head. "I’m so tired! Mom, stop yelling!" Then she remembered—it was Li Si’s wedding day.
In an instant, Shasha sprang up like a fish out of water, sitting bolt upright. Looking at Li Si, who was already slipping on her slippers to head to the bathroom, Shasha teased, "Bride-to-be, I bet you were up early!"
She could understand the excited jitters. Maybe Li Si had been so thrilled that she couldn’t sleep after Shasha herself had dozed off.
Yawning, Li Si shot Shasha a glare. "Knock it off! Hurry up and get ready!"
She hadn’t expected to wake up so late. After all, back when she used to nurse the baby, getting up at 4 a.m. was no big deal.
But Shasha’s endless chattering last night had thrown off her plans. Despite repeatedly saying, "Let’s sleep, let’s sleep," her talking kept Li Si awake until it felt like she’d just closed her eyes when it was already time to get up.
Thankfully, Buding woke up too, blinking his little eyes and just about to cry. Li Si scooped him up, and the moment the baby saw his mother, he giggled in delight.
Now that he was awake, Li Si didn’t have to pump out and discard the milk she’d stored overnight. She nursed him a bit, then pumped the rest. Afterward, she made sure to use nursing pads—it wouldn’t do for her dress to get wet on her wedding day.
Babies wake early when they’re hungry or need a diaper change. Once Li Si had changed Buding’s diaper and fed him, he drifted back to sleep.
Sister Ding knocked gently and entered, carefully taking Buding into her arms. Her responsibility today was to look after the little one. Besides, Jiang Tong would also stick close by throughout the wedding to make sure nothing went wrong.
Once Li Si and Bai Shasha had quickly freshened up, the makeup artist entered to start working on Li Si’s hair and makeup.
Jiang Fan and Liu Xiaole woke up slightly later than the pair. Seeing both women yawning repeatedly, they couldn’t help but tease, "Sisi, were you too excited to sleep well?"
Bai Shasha smirked mischievously, waggling her eyebrows. "Do you even need to ask? It’d be weird if she could sleep well with no husband beside her!"
"Just you wait!" Li Si, mid-makeup, couldn’t turn around, so she glared at the laughing group through the mirror.
"Haha!"
The makeup artist’s assistants gave the others light makeup as well. Today, apart from Jiang Fan and Liu Xiaole, Li Si’s bridesmaids included a few of Simeng’s younger friends.
Zhang Qian had told everyone during Su Meng’s wedding that she absolutely had to be a bridesmaid for Li Si’s wedding.
The three other bridesmaids were close friends of theirs.
Once Li Si’s makeup was done, she changed into her dazzling diamond-studded wedding gown.
Looking into the mirror at her radiant reflection, Li Si smiled softly at herself. The room erupted in gasps.
"Oh my God, Si! You look stunning!" Bai Shasha circled her, nearly blinded by the brilliance of the gown.
Li Si’s husband was truly extravagant in his love for her—the sheer number of diamonds on the dress was beyond indulgent!
"Absolutely gorgeous!" Jiang Fan chimed in, her tone filled with admiration. She always knew Li Si was beautiful, but there was no comparing this to how she looked in everyday moments. It was no wonder she was cherished and adored—she had every reason to be.
"So lavish!" Liu Xiaole stared enviously at Li Si’s gown. Each of the diamonds was worth a fortune, let alone all 999 of them! She doubted she’d ever witness something like this again in her lifetime.
Before long, there was a light knock at the door. Bai Shasha went to open it.
It turned out to be the photography team, who promptly set up their equipment and began their work.
They photographed Li Si and Bai Shasha individually and as a group. More and more people started streaming in.
Everyone laughed and joked about how they’d block the groom at the door to demand red envelopes. Bai Shasha and Jiang Fan exchanged a mischievous glance and began hiding the bride’s shoes.
One shoe was tucked under the train of Li Si’s wedding gown, while the other was hidden under the bottom drawer of the TV cabinet, sneakily covered with a red shirt.
The hiding spots weren’t easy to find!
"Si, you’d better not tip off your husband—understand?" Bai Shasha warned. Li Si grinned playfully and waved her phone. "Of course! Of course I will!" Of course, she’d tell him—how could she not?
The informed Leng Mochen had woken up early. The weather was perfect, the gentle morning breeze carrying an air of blissful anticipation.
The wedding company was working according to his requests, decorating the 29 luxury cars parked outside the villa.
The enthusiasm and carefulness of the staff showed just how much of a sensation this fleet of cars would cause.
The lead car was a Maybach 62S, followed by Bentleys, Ferraris, Porsche Cayennes, and more—a lineup so grand it could rival a car show.
Leng Mochen himself provided ten cars, while Long Wu, Xu Er, and their other circle of friends contributed the rest to complete the fleet of 29 vehicles.
If it weren’t for Leng Mochen specifying this exact number, they could have easily arranged for even more.
The activity outside the villa was bustling. When Long Wu arrived and saw Leng Mochen brimming with energy as he watched the staff embed diamonds on the lead car, he couldn’t resist teasing, "Wow, Leng Er, didn’t expect you to actually be this romantic!"
"Don’t talk nonsense! If I remember correctly, weren’t you even more romantic when you got married?"
"You’re right!" Long Wu stroked his chin smugly and began recounting his romantic gestures. But before he’d even gotten a few sentences in, his listener had walked off mid-story. Walked off!
"This guy!" Long Wu fumed, pointing at Leng Mochen’s back. "Fine, don’t listen, then!"
At exactly 8:29 a.m., everything was ready, and the convoy departed on time! (To be continued. If you enjoy this story, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendations or monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
