Chapter 577: The Unlit Cigarette

Chapter 577: The Unlit Cigarette

Erluzi shook off the waiter's hand and walked towards the direction the waiter was pointing.

The waiter wanted to stop him, but after looking at the booth Erluzi's finger was pointing to and then at Erluzi, he hesitated and did not continue to stop him.

At this time, Erluzi had a silly grin on his face. Under the dim lighting, a woman with long hair was sitting in the booth, and while her features were not easily visible, her long hair was quite attractive to Erluzi.

The reason Erluzi shook off the waiter and insisted on going to this booth was that he had noticed a woman sitting there alone, without any companions. This, to Erluzi, was a good opportunity to hit on her, and perhaps he could break his record of never having any success at the bar.

He just remembered that the booth was empty just a moment ago, but to his surprise, there was now a woman there. However, this surprise was more of a pleasant one.

"Beautiful... lady, are you alone?" Erluzi didn't bother with any politeness, he just plopped down next to the woman, grinning drunkenly as he spoke.

Due to his drunkenness, Erluzi's speech was a bit slurred, making him seem a bit stuttering. However, he didn't feel the least bit embarrassed, and was instead quite excited.

The woman didn't turn around, her long hair covering her face, so it was impossible to see her expression - whether it was disgust or liking. But she did not ignore Erluzi, and gave a slight nod in response.

Seeing the woman nod, Erluzi was overjoyed. He had been worried that if the woman was waiting for someone, it would be troublesome. Fortunately, his concern did not materialize, and since the woman was alone, the next step would be much easier.

"Drinking alone can be boring, and I happen to be alone too. How about we share a table?" Erluzi asked with a smile.Although he phrased it politely, Erluzi's true intentions were not as such. Whether the woman agreed or not, he had no plans to leave. Tonight, he had set his sights on her and would not give up until he achieved his goal.

The woman did not directly answer Erluzi's question, but instead asked him, "Aren't you afraid?"

The woman's sudden question puzzled Erluzi. He let out a loud laugh and said, "Afraid? Afraid of what? There's nothing for me to be afraid of. I'm the kind of guy who's not afraid of heaven or earth."

As he said this, Erluzi called the waiter over in a loud voice.

"Bring a dozen drinks, two glasses, and some snacks," Erluzi ordered.

The waiter had a somewhat strange expression, but he knew Erluzi was a drunkard, so he didn't say much and immediately brought the drinks and snacks as requested.

"Beautiful lady, come, let's have a drink."

Erluzi poured the drinks full, grinning drunkenly as he spoke. He picked up a glass, wanting to clink glasses with the woman, but she did not pick up her glass.

"Haha, beautiful lady, don't be shy. If you're going to come here to play, you have to let loose. Being too reserved won't let you enjoy it fully."

Erluzi laughed heartily, downing his glass in one go, then refilling it, ready to find a topic to open up the woman's conversation and bring them closer.

However, just as he had finished refilling his glass, the woman spoke before he could.

"Young man, you make a fair point. If you're going to come out to play, you should play to the fullest. But what if it's your life you're playing with?" the woman asked.

The woman's voice was very pleasant to listen to. Even though he couldn't see her appearance, Erluzi was sure she must be a beauty with a voice like that.

And even if she wasn't as beautiful as he imagined, it didn't matter to him. As long as she had this lovely voice, that was enough. At night with the lights dimmed, good looks or not would be the same, but a nice voice was a different story.

At the moment, Erluzi's mind was filled with thoughts of the woman, and he didn't really pay attention to what she was actually saying. Plus, with the music playing in the bar, he didn't hear her words very clearly.

"Beautiful lady, what did you just say? I didn't quite catch that," Erluzi leaned in closer to the woman, his face near her long hair, taking a deep sniff.

Erluzi did not smell any fragrance, but his face showed an expression of pure enjoyment. In this case, no fragrance is better than having one, and he felt like his whole world was blooming.

"I'm saying, if I asked you to risk your life, would you still be willing?" the woman continued to ask.

"Haha, of course I would! Risking my life would be even more thrilling!" Erluzi replied, then couldn't help but reach out to stroke the woman's long hair.

On a normal day when he was sober, Erluzi wouldn't dare say much to a stranger, but now, drunk as he was, he felt like he had the courage of a bear and the heart of a leopard - there was nothing he was afraid to do.

Seeming to sense Erluzi's movement, the woman slightly turned her head, then flipped her long hair, revealing her profile.

Although the bar was dimly lit, Erluzi was sitting very close to the woman, so he could clearly see her profile.

It was a very beautiful profile, and in Erluzi's world, he had never seen anyone with a profile so beautiful. For a moment, his expression froze, then he snapped out of it, and his whole person seemed to be filled with excitement.

"Drink, drink, drink! Come on, beauty, let's drink!"

Apart from getting the woman to drink, Erluzi couldn't think of any other way. In his eyes, only by getting her drunk would he have a chance.

This time, Erluzi was more proactive than before. He picked up the drink in front of the woman and enthusiastically handed it to her.

The woman didn't take the drink, but turned to look at Erluzi instead.

Although he had just guessed from the woman's profile that she was a beauty, when he saw her full face, Erluzi couldn't help but be stunned again - the woman's face was even more beautiful than he had imagined.

Looking at the dazed Erluzi, the woman didn't show any disgust, but rather a calm expression.

"You're about to die, you know that?"

At these words, the dazed Erluzi reacted. He put down the drink with a drunken smile and said, "Beauty, you're really joking. I'm not even 40 yet, it's too early for me to die."

The smell of the burp was unpleasant, but the woman seemed not to have noticed it at all, and continued to speak to Erluzi, "Do you know that you've already been haunted by a ghost?"

Erluzi didn't take it seriously, but instead smiled and took a cigarette out of his pocket, lighting it.

"Yeah, I've been haunted by a ghost, a poor ghost. It's been almost 40 years. Haha, how scary," Erluzi said with a burp.

But then he felt a bit strange. The cigarette in his mouth seemed to have changed somehow. He remembered that he had lit the cigarette, but no matter how he inhaled, there was no reaction.

With this doubt in his heart, he took the cigarette out of his mouth and looked at it carefully. He saw that the cigarette had indeed been lit, but it didn't seem to have burned through.

Erluzi smiled, thinking that he must have been careless because he was drunk, so this situation occurred. He took out his lighter again to light the cigarette in his mouth.

The lighter successfully ignited the flame, but it still couldn't light the cigarette in Erluzi's mouth. The flame touched the cigarette, making a crackling sound and emitting a faint burnt smell, which was very strange.

Erluzi felt puzzled. He thought maybe he had lit the cigarette the wrong way because he was drunk, so he took it out of his mouth and observed it carefully.

The cigarette was not lit the wrong way, and it was no different from a normal cigarette. But as he looked at it, the cigarette changed - the ordinary cigarette turned into a fresh, bloody finger, and the fingertip had been slightly burned by the lighter.

Seeing this, Erluzi sobered up a lot. He was terrified, let out a scream, and the bloody finger fell to the ground.

He didn't dare to look at the finger that had fallen to the ground. The fear made his mind go blank, and the only thing he wanted to do was to flee this place, far away.

However, just as he stood up to flee, a soft, boneless little hand grabbed his arm.

"If you don't want to die, stay still. Running out like this will only get you killed faster!"
