Chapter 331: Chapter 331: Can You Manage Alone?

Lily Turner’s eyes, as bright as the stars, were filled with pleading and expectation. Something seemed to strike a chord in Easton Holmes. He hooked her wrist, pulling her tightly into his embrace.

"I realize my tone wasn’t great when I spoke earlier. I hope you don’t mind." Easton had gradually calmed down and recognized that his attitude just now was inappropriate, although he still believed he hadn’t said anything wrong.

Lily shook her head, "I was at fault too. I didn’t consider things from your perspective earlier."

After washing her face with cold water, Lily felt much more clear-headed and calm. Earlier, she was only thinking from her own viewpoint, completely ignoring his feelings and thoughts.

On reflection, she realized he had a point. Since they were married, discussing having children was unavoidable.

She was indeed young, but he was not so young anymore, and his grandfather was eagerly waiting to hold a great-grandchild.

Hearing this, Easton suddenly looked down at the woman leaning against him. Supporting her chin with his hand, he forced her to look up at him, "I understand what you’re worried about. I assure you, with all my heart, that what you’re worried about will never happen with me."

"So please rest assured. Just happily be my wife, and in the future, be the mother of my children with peace of mind." He spoke sincerely, without a hint of perfunctory.

"Are you that anxious to become a dad?"

Children! Children!

He had mentioned children several times tonight and even told his friends behind her back that she was pregnant.

Was he really that anxious for kids?

Lily didn’t push away the hand holding her chin, nor did she shyly avert her gaze. She just looked up at Easton.

Was he being that obvious?

Easton was momentarily unsure, but then he leaned down and kissed Lily, although not for long, as he soon released her.

"From the moment we got married, I have been looking forward to our child’s arrival." He spoke with his mouth close to her ear, his warm breath tickling the back of her ear, prompting her to push him away playfully.

"But I must have disappointed you. That was just a mistake I made because I was confused." Thinking about what she’d done made Lily feel awkward and embarrassed.

Easton moved closer to her ear again, gently nipping her earlobe, "I was a little disappointed, yes, but as long we work harder, there will soon be a child."

As he spoke, he tightened his grip a bit, holding her more closely in his arms.

"You’re trying to... mmm..."

Lily had just opened her mouth to say, "You’re trying to squeeze me to death," but before she could finish, Easton bent down and kissed her.

The kiss was fierce, deep, passionate...

Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!

The sudden ring of the doorbell gradually made the two of them pull apart from their embrace.

"It’s Thomas and the others. I’ll take care of them. You can go upstairs and rest." Upon hearing the doorbell, Easton’s first thought was of his drunken friends arriving and wanted Lily to go to the bedroom while he entertained his buddies alone.

"Are you sure you can handle it alone?"

Lily glanced at Easton, wanting to help entertain his friends, but he led her directly to the foot of the stairs. "I can handle it. Go ahead and go upstairs."
