Chapter 287: Chapter 287: Did Something Bad and Want to Escape? No Way!

Because they needed to solve the problem of their rumbling stomachs, Easton Holmes and Lily Turner went out just after coming back home, holding hands as they left.

"Did you chase Sister Gui away?"

Once in the car, Lily suddenly remembered this issue and turned sideways to face the man starting the car.

Earlier, when she was searching for him upstairs and downstairs, she didn’t see a trace of him or Sister Gui.

Her first thought was that he had chased Sister Gui away, and she could guess some of the reasons in her heart.

Ever since learning yesterday that Amelia Linton forced Lily to take contraceptives, early this morning, Easton had chased Sister Gui away from their home, ignoring her desperate pleas, ruthlessly showing her out the door.

"I shouldn’t have kept her here in the first place."

He turned to glance at her, started the engine, and drove away.

Lily looked at Easton driving and didn’t say anything further, nor did she ask any more questions. She settled into her seat and became a quiet, elegant lady.

Neither of them spoke again on the way; one focused on driving, while the other quietly watched the scenery outside the window.

The car was very quiet, but it wasn’t awkward or uncomfortable. Instead, it felt peaceful and harmonious.

Easton didn’t take Lily far for dinner. After driving for about ten minutes, they stopped. She glanced at where they had parked, got out of the car, and walked into the restaurant with him.

Worried about being recognized, they found a private room and sat down.

Easton let Lily sit first, then stood with the waiter to order from the menu. After the waiter left with the menu, he sat down beside her.

"Thank you!"

Lily wasn’t blind, nor deaf; she noticed Easton standing to order himself without handing the menu to her. She understood it was to avoid the waiter recognizing her.

This considerate gesture warranted a word of thanks.

Upon hearing this, Easton furrowed his brows slightly, his expression shifting a little, "Thanks? Thanks for what? Taking you here for dinner? Or for ordering on your behalf?"

He knew well what she was thanking him for, yet he played along, not giving her a chance to respond, and continued, "Whatever it is, I don’t think it’s needed, because we’re a couple. There’s no need for such formalities between us, wouldn’t you agree?"

Easton stared unblinkingly at Lily sitting next to him, leaving her nowhere to hide.

"I understand, I won’t be so polite with you in the future." Lily felt a bit uneasy under Easton’s gaze, and had it not been for the fear of being recognized, she would have dashed out of the private room already.

But she didn’t let it go at that. She raised her hand and pushed his head, grumbling discontentedly as she did so, "Don’t look at me like that, I already said I understand."

This was the first time Lily made such a small gesture towards Easton; all she wanted was for him to stop staring at her.

She didn’t notice at all that such a small gesture had changed his mood; by the time she realized, he was already holding the hand she’d used to push his head.

"Why are you grabbing my hand? Let me go."

Lily struggled to pull her hand back, but failed after several tries.

"You can’t just run after misbehaving, no way!"

As Easton spoke, he slowly leaned closer to Lily.
