Chapter 261: Chapter 261 You Just Look at Me
Callix Linton heard from Auntie Li that Lily Turner wasn’t with Easton Holmes but was making a phone call alone in the corridor.
He had sensed something was off between them earlier, which was why he had found a way to get both of them out of his way in turn.
However, the information he received was not what he had expected. Worried, he came out to check on the situation without thinking, only to overhear what Lily was saying.
"Grandpa! Weren’t you watching TV in the living room? Why did you come over here?" Lily Turner instinctively put the phone in her jacket pocket as she spoke, quickly pushing her conversation with Freya Yeager out of her mind, focusing instead on the elder beside her.
"I was thirsty, so I came to the kitchen to get some water."
Callix Linton pointed towards the kitchen, pretending he really was thirsty and headed there to drink some water.
Lily Turner didn’t doubt Callix Linton’s words at all and reached out to tug him, who was about to walk toward the kitchen, "Grandpa! You go back to the living room and wait; I’ll get you some water."
With that, she headed to the kitchen.
"Bring the water to the dining room."
Callix Linton didn’t stop Lily Turner from getting him water but merely changed the place where he would wait.
"Got it."
Lily Turner replied and strode towards the kitchen. It wasn’t long before she returned with a steaming cup of water.
When Lily Turner walked into the dining room with the water, Callix Linton was already seated at the table, chatting with Easton Holmes. As she entered, both men instinctively looked up at her.
"Grandpa! Here’s your water!"
Lily Turner went over and set the cup of water in front of Callix Linton. She had no intention of sitting down; as soon as she placed the water, she turned to leave, "You guys chat; I’m going to watch TV."
No sooner had she said that, Callix Linton grabbed the fleeing Lily Turner, "Sit down and chat with us; we’re not talking in secret or anything."
With that, he pulled her onto a chair beside them.
"I didn’t say you were talking secrets; I just wanted to watch TV." Lily Turner gestured to the dining room door, but she didn’t get up to leave because she knew deep down that she couldn’t ignore the old man’s attitude.
Seeing Lily Turner merely saying it, with no intent to get up and leave, Callix Linton was secretly pleased, though he showed no sign of it on the surface, "What’s so good about TV? Just look at Easton."
The old man spoke earnestly, pointing at Easton Holmes, who was sitting opposite them.
Hearing this, Lily Turner instinctively followed Callix Linton’s pointing finger, just in time to meet Easton Holmes’s gaze as he looked her way, their eyes meeting unexpectedly.
She was startled for a moment, and then quickly turned her gaze aside, but she could still catch a glimpse of Easton Holmes still intently staring at her from the corner of her eye.
His gaze was so focused, even a bit intense, that her cheeks started to grow slightly warm.
Callix Linton discreetly watched the young pair’s reaction, thinking it best to remain a quiet old man.
"Grandpa’s right, you can just look at me."
Easton Holmes finally spoke after staring at Lily Turner for a long time. If he hadn’t spoken soon, she was afraid she couldn’t handle his increasingly intense gaze.
Could this guy be any more thick-skinned?
Lily Turner rolled her eyes inwardly at the man sitting across from her, quickly glancing him over before saying, "You are indeed very handsome, but... I don’t like looking at you."
