Chapter 284: I Want to Duel with You
Chapter 284: I Want to Duel with You
Grant Heath initially wanted to stand his ground, but seeing Lily Turner’s determined attitude, he worried she might get angry and ignore him, so he reluctantly changed lanes.
After changing lanes, Grant Heath slowed down the car, and to avoid arousing Lily Turner’s suspicion, he kept the speed very steady.
Lily Turner was eager to get back to see Easton Holmes and didn’t notice the change in speed. She sat facing the car window, quietly watching outside, lost in thought, without making a sound throughout the journey.
The pleasant atmosphere had turned into this mess, and Grant Heath deeply resented the caller, Easton Holmes. If he wasn’t concerned about Lily Turner getting upset, he wouldn’t bother taking her back to see him.
What should have been a forty-minute drive took Grant Heath an extra half-hour.
As soon as the car stopped, Lily Turner immediately opened the door and got out, anxious but still remembered to say goodbye to Grant Heath.
"Don’t forget you promised to treat me to a meal."
Grant Heath lowered the car window and loudly reminded Lily Turner, who had just gotten out of the car.
"Got it, I won’t forget, I’ll call you another day." Lily Turner turned back to respond to Grant Heath, then headed towards the driveway, her steps large and hurried.
Watching that hurriedly departing figure, Grant Heath let out a deep sigh.
Bam bam bam!
Suddenly, the sound of banging startled Grant Heath, who was unprepared, and he turned around quickly towards the sound.
"Isn’t it a bit low to be eyeing someone else’s wife like that?" Easton Holmes leaned over to look at Grant Heath inside the car, his hands resting on either side of the car door. His stern face showed no expression at all.
Because of Lily Turner, Grant Heath already harbored resentment towards Easton Holmes. Upon hearing Easton speak like this, he was instantly enraged, "Adrian Linton! Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched, it’s still uncertain whose wife Lily will end up being."
His eyes glared angrily at the man standing outside the car, his handsome face full of fury.
"Now or in the future, Lily will always be my wife, Adrian Linton’s wife. You better stop having any unrealistic thoughts about her; you’ll never have a chance." Easton Holmes remained icy, his cold and stern face as if it could shed icicles.
Grant Heath was even more infuriated, trying to push the door open to confront Easton Holmes standing outside, but after several attempts, he couldn’t open it. He suddenly realized Easton was behind this.
"Adrian Linton! If you’re so capable, let me down, I want to duel with you." As he spoke, both his hands kept trying to push the car door.
"Childish!"
Seeing Grant Heath clamoring to duel with him, Easton Holmes dismissively responded with those two words.
Seeing this, Grant Heath was almost driven mad with anger, but with the car door pressed down by Easton Holmes’s hands, he couldn’t get out to vent his frustration.
Forced to stay inside the car, he felt even more aggrieved, and at this moment, he felt utterly humiliated.
"Adrian Linton! Get out of my way!" Grant Heath shouted at the person outside.
"Courting death!"
Easton Holmes swung his right fist at the man inside the car, but just as his fist was about to reach Grant Heath’s face, the phone in his pocket suddenly buzzed, making him pause instinctively.
Taking advantage of his momentary distraction, Grant Heath sidestepped to dodge his punch.
